Excellent location at the bottom of lift 17, close to a supermarket, ski hire shop, bars, restaurants and the resort centre. The hotel is almost ‘ski to door’, you just have to cross a road to get into the heated ski and boot room in the garage below the main hotel.
Food was OK - nothing to write home about, but we were hungry! Usually you would get a selection of cereals, bread, butter, cheese and jam with coffee at breakfast time, then a salad buffet starter, followed by a pasta dish, then your main course (chicken, veal) and a desert in the evening.
Rooms were basic but clean, although the beds were a bit soft, with plenty of hanging space for ski gear. We had a fantastic view across the slopes from our room at the front of the hotel, so we could immediately tell what the new snowfall was like.
Bathrooms have a shower, toilet, washbasin and plenty of hot water to ease those aching muscles. Tonale is small but friendly, and excellent for learning to ski. We are going back this season, so it must be ok!
