You get what you pay for, but with fantastic staff
from Priceypoos
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Anzac Hotel in October 2006 as a base for touring the Gallipoli battlefields and Troy. The location is perfect with easy access to the town itself and just around the corner from the ferry points to get across the straits. Access to Gallipoli is easy from Canakkale and the town has much more to offer than Eceabat and Kilitbahir across on the peninsula. Cost of the ferry to Eceabat was 10.50 Turkish Lira (about 5 Euros) for the two of us plus our car. First, this is not a luxury hotel. We paid 35...

The most awful hotel I've ever stayed in
from SusieQ78
We stayed one night only in Canakkale and I thank God for that. We didn't check into the Anzac hotel until quite late, about 8pm. If I'd checked in earlier I would've checked straight out and gone and found somewhere else to stay. The room rate was 35 Euro but I would've given that up just to have a decent room. First, the only requirements I really have for a hotel is that it's clean - for 35 Euros I don't expect modern furnishing or great service. I pulled back the bed covers and found little bugs in the beds - when I pulled the...

Service Here is Excellent
from KiwiExplorer#1
We spent 2 nights here in the middle of August. The place is in the perfect location in the centre of the town with with the bus stop and ferry just around the corner. The rooms were clean and tidy but what sets this place out from the rest is the assistance and service of the Management and Staff. Nothing was an issue and our trip to Gallipoli was arranged for us through TJ's which was one of the many highlights of Turkey. Would recomend this hotel to anyone coming through this way!
Thoroughly recommended!

28th July 2006 I thoroughly recommend Anzac Hotel to anyone who wants both value for money and a comfortable, relaxed stay. The superb customer service at Anzac Hotel enables your stay in Canakkale to be both relaxed and hassle-free. I stayed one night in Anzac Hotel, Canakkale while travelling down to Selcuk. From Canakkale, you can see Gallipoli and the ruins of Troy. Anzac Hotel is very convieniently located in Clock Tower Square. This is in the centre of Canakkale, two minutes walk from the harbour. This hotel provided...

Great Service
from A TripAdvisor Member
Arriving a few days before ANZAC day 2006 and having a distastrous booking problem at another hotel, I chose the Anzac Hotel at random from a website without any preconceptions. On arrival at the hotel, the staff secured the last available room for me. The service was the best I had encountered in Turkey to date and this continued during my four day stay. The management and staff provided me with information, food to go for Gallipoli trips and blankets for the cold night out (dawn service). Nothing seemed to be too much for the staff. By the...

Warm hospitality, bi-lingual staff
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights, April 10 and 11, and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is indeed centrally located, facing the historic clock tower, the beautiful scenic harbor is only a block away, the hotel is nicely decorated -- actually, I LOVED the decor! -- and the staff is bi-lingual and helpful. For the price -- quite reasonable -- I must say we had an excellent deal! I appreciated the free internet access so that I could quickly update what I already knew about Canakkale and go on my day of adventure armed...

Miserable Experience...
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I spent one night here on a recent trip to Turkey and this was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience we had. The rooms were tattered and threadbare with paper-thin walls and doors. Our room was directly over the main lobby facing the clock tower and cigarette smoke flooded our room, due to the hotel staff chain-smoking all night. The heat in our room was stuck on high, making the room a smokey, miserable affair. We contacted the front desk to see if they could help and they had no idea how to shut it off. It was very...

Management response from Armagan
Dear Guest,
We are very sorry for your bad experience, The hotel was in renovation in March, repairing and priming of the walls was first made before painting, I think you might have stayed in a room without newly painted just with priming.
Neccassary notice was given to the night shift of the hotel and action was taken in order to prevent smoking smell that might come from the lobby.
As you have experienced we have central heating for winter and self controlled A/C for summer in all rooms, the level of heat and cold can be adjusted from each room. We have checked the adjust switches of the heating system in all rooms whether it is working properly, they were all fine, the night shift was new and necessary trainning was given with regards to heating system.
Over all we are very sorry for your bad experience, We would like to offer you a complimantary stay in your next stay in Canakkale

I m writing from my notebook in my lovely room facing to the historical clock tower. I can not stop myself writing this review after the extraordinary friendly atmosphere we had in this lovely hotel. Firstly let me tell you some tips about the city Canakkale. Canakale is a small town located by the dardanelles. Historical Gallipoli national park and the ancient city troia can be considered as the top two places to visit. On the harbo,ur you will be amazed with the trojan horse used in the hollywood movie 'troy'. The city is very lively with...
