Location is Key
Hotel's location is excellent for seeing most of the city's major attractions like the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, etc. A station for the metro line is literally just around the corner and taxis are readily available for destinations further afield. The hotel promotes their own restaurant; I found it mediocre, although a generous breakfast buffet is included with your room rate. Plenty of reasonable fare is available in the neighborhood and small grocers can supply you with snacks, water and other supplies. Rooms are... more
Friendly, convenient
The Adora Hotel is charming and very clean. The staff is extremely professional and helpful. Excellent service! Breakfasts was fresh and tasty. Hotel has own excellent restaurant . Hotel is located in an excellent part of the city, very close to the metro and conveniently located near all the important sites of the old city . The rooms are small but comfortable, clean and quite. I will definitely stay there again!
Small but good hotel
Very small rooms but clean. The staff was very friendly and made their best to be helpful. The site is exceptional near (by walk) to all means of transport (tram, bus, railway station and ferry boat) and also major tourist sites (Topkapi, Blue mosque, Hagia sofia). Avoid rooms on 1st and 5th because noisy...
I Adored the Adora
I really enjoyed staying at the Adora Hotel with my parents who are in their 60's - they liked it too. I have stayed at several other hotels around the Sultanahmet area (I live in Turkey) and found that this one has an ideal location - a short few min. walk to all the Sultanahmet attractions and near the ferry docks/train station/Spice Market. Right next to the beautiful Gulhane Park too. Also, it is about a 30 sec. walk to a tram station that can take you right up to the Grand Bazaar (3 stops away) or down to the docks/Spice Market (2 stops... more
Nice and convenient
3-star hotels in Istanbul are not always the best choice, but this one is decent enough. The location is extrmely convenient (and quite safe) with many major sites within walking distance and many transportation options. The rooms are very small indeed, but they are clean and tidy, and rather quite (double-glazed windows). The bathrooms are new and quite nice too. We did not have dinner at the hotel, but we didn't miss any breakfasts as everything was fresh and tasty. The choise was not huge, but we prefer to have to choose between 10 fresh... more
Very nice
Hotel is located in an excellent part of the city, very close to the ferrıes and the metro. The area seems very safe for walking anytime, day or night. Rooms are small but comfortable and are very clean. Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is ok, the selection is not huge but will do the trick. Dinner is also served, in the cozy dinnıng area. Hotel price seems reasonable, İ paid 49 euros per night, and booked my room on booking.com. İ beleive the hotel rate booking directly starts at about 10 euros more, but they will... more
Consistent with previous reviews
I agree 100% with previous reviews about this hotel, so won't repeat them. My contributions are the following: 1) Got room on 3rd floor (only 3 rooms per floor), view of a yard next door, so no noise; anyway the windows are sound proof. 2) Room is VERY small: no place to put additional suitcases if you have more than one; 3) Bathroom IS BIG compared to room and other bathrooms seen in Europe hotels; 4) Hotel compensates for the room size with additional stuff: toiletries, bathrobes, phone in bathroom, satellite tv,... more
Great location
The hotel is less than 100m from the Gulhane tram stop, so is very conveniently located for all the major sights. Hagia Sofia is only 5 mins walk, as is Topkapi Palace. The boats at Eminonu are only 10 mins away. The room was on the spartan side, but was clean and spacious. It wasn't noisy and had an air conditioning unit that you could adjust. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Breakfast was as you would expect (bread, salad, fruit, meat, yoghurt), but plentiful. We dined once at a... more
A Little Bit of Quiet in Big City
Central area, transportation adjacent to hotel, clean rooms, quiet, good restaurant menu, and wine selections. Staff professional, friendly. I would definately stay in this hotel again, when visiting Istanbul
Charming, friendly, convenient....
The Adora Hotel was completely renovated in the past year. It is charming and very clean. The staff is extremely professional and helpful. Everyone spoke English. Every restaurant that they recommended was excellent. They called ahead and made introductions. Excellent service. Conveniently located near all the important sites of the old city and walking distance to the Bosphorus. I will definitely stay there again.
