Loved it
My family and i have just arrived back and i can safely say that our two weeks at the Acelya were great. The owner, his family and his staff are extremely welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The weather was brilliant, the food even better. Ortakent is a great base for both bodrum and turgutreis, both having big markets but to be honest turgurtreis is far better. Although the Acelya is a small hotel, the rooms are very clean, as is the kitchen and towels and linens are changed more than enough. All in all our holiday was great and we... more
Wonderful place to stay
Wow, what can I say a really wonderful place to stay. The Acelya Hotel is lovely, very clean and friendly and set in a wonderful location. When we arrived we wondered what we where letting ourselves in for as the back of the hotel is literally a dirt yard but once you walk into the hotel it really is nice. It is situated right on the seafront with only a small promanade between the hotel and the beach. The rooms are very simple but clean and tidy, everything that you need for your stay. The only problem we had was we had little hot... more
Absolutely wonderful. We love this hotel - we are going back
Anyone who says that this hotel is anything less that above average is mad. I am 20 years old and had an absolutely wonderful time. Even though it is not in the middle of town with clubs etc around, if you are looking for a traditional turkish hotel with traditional/home cooking then this is the place. It is clean, tidy, 5 stars for the food and service by staff is excellent. Even though it is end of season, they are giving an amazing service and are extremely friendly. The only bad thing i could say is that the back of the hotel... more
Loved the Acelya
What a smashing little hotel, friendly staff, especially the barman. First time we had been in a hotel for a long time, just wanted a relaxing holiday and this place fitted the bill 110%. Went with First Choice and although they do advertise adults only there was a few small children, but that didn't bother me too much, only description first Choice got wrong rest was spot on. I was home a day and booked again for the following year for two weeks this time, and I can't wait. All the eating places were fantastic great food, great choice.... more
Beware the Turkish holiday season
Firstly I would like to say that Hotel itself is lovely. Very clean and the food was great. Having eaten out for the first week, we soon realised that although there are a large number of restaurants along the sea front, all the menus are the same. We had the Acelya set menu which worked out to be around £6 per head and was good value in comparison to what the other places were charging. The food is simple but was very fresh and cooked well, with absolutely no sign whatsoever of mince with no flavour etc, etc. The set menu consisted of soup... more
love açelya
viva restaurant great mexican food end englih breakfast.
Lovely find!
What a lovely little hotel! We were extremely pleased with our stay at the Acelya. The rooms are a good size and extremely clean. The food is good and we were encourged to go into the kitchen to actually see the food as the daily 'specials' were Turkish. The location could not be better as it is on the beach and the hotel has it's own section which has 'free' sunbeds! ( A substantial saving for us as we love the beach). The pool is small and if there are more than 2 inflatables in there then forget it! Whilst we were there... more
Food for thought
Yashi a lovely place to unwind and recharge batteries. Spoiled by the low standard of food provided at the Acelya Hotel. We booked half board but ended up eating out after the first couple of evening meal experiences. If you like mince cooked with just onion with no flavouring added this is the place to stay. If you enjoy meat balls flattened and burnt you are in for a treat! Breakfast - if you like cheese, olives and tomatoes you're ok but if you are into cereal the choice is soggy cornflakes or soggy cornflakes. The bread was nice... more
Fantastic place to stay
We booked with First Choice, flew from Cardiff, transfer from Bodrum airport approx an hour. Wonderfull peacefull location, with all amenities close by.Spotlessly clean and extremely well run establishment. A very pretty spot, overlooking Yahsi beach. The staff at the family run hotel were so friendly and helpful. First week quiet as the resort was just preparing for the summer, second week quiet too. Lovely Turkish breakfast of three different cheeses, olives, tomatoes, cereals, boiled egg and lovely fresh bread. Basic menu... more
You Want To Go Back Year After Year
Just updating my previous review. My husband and I are now regular visitors to the Acelya Hotel. I am now retired and find that the area around is not too hilly for walks in the evening. A lovely Family run hotel. A short stroll to Camel beach. We enjoy our visits there each year now. We also take regular boat trips around the bays. The local Dolmus is nearby to take us into Bodrum. From there you can visit the peninsula, Gundogan Bay, Yalikivak etc. A good place to base yourself to visit the surrounding... more
