Was IMPRISONED inside the hotel on checkout. Reception decided at checkout that the discounted price that I had already paid was no longer acceptable. LOCKED the front door and demanded more money - not wanting to miss my airport transfer and flight and unwilling to get involved in the Turkish legal system I reluctantly paid. Should have read the other reviews about the difficulties regarding payment. The worst experience in many years of travel.

And you wanted to escape out quickly If you want to run away without paying out, We're sorry but I would be forced to close the door as normal. Very basic room and en-suite facilities in a great location.

This is a very basic hotel in a great location for all the big must see sites. The staff we met were a mixed bunch. Checking out was an unpleasant experience since we expected to pay by credit card in euros but their machine only handles Turkish Lira. My surprise and questioning of the exchange rate quoted was met by the riposte "You are calling me a liar!" from the lady on reception. The guy who seemed to be the manager was quite keen to offer us tours and services which we were able to acquire at a cheaper price under our own steam....

Dear Guest; Thanks for your comment to our hotel.Normally when peoples checking out from our hotel they knows if they wanna pay with credit card we charge in turkish liras.Because in Turkey credit card machines doesn't work with euros..Eeverybody knows that.Also you said to us 'we paid already' from the internet travel agency we said we are not lier when you arrive to your country you will see who is correct. You said euro is 2 liras and we showed to you from the internet it was 2.2.liras. We try to make a best tourism management here and if we are not correct we accept that. we stayed 8 nights, everything was fine, friendly staff, good location, good service. a bit noisy because of the street side. perfect combination of price/quality. I would like to stay there again.

BEWARE!! Some days after the reservation @Venere the hotel mailed me and said that they didn't have room for 2 of my 5 days, but they have booked me on a hotel close by for 2 days. This was OK for me. The room that at the other hotel (Emre) was extremely small with a queen bed where you had to "climb the walls" to move around...and no breakfast. At check-out from Zeugma I said that I didn't want to pay full price for the 2 nights, but they insisted and since we where on our way to airport we was a bit stressed. SO - they...

A Great 6 Night Stay

My father and I planned a 5 day visit to Istanbul and stayed at the Zeugma the entire time. We arrived in late May right before the rush of travelers for the summer season began. From the moment we arrived the front office managers were pleasant and helpful. We stayed in one of the top floor suites which face toward the back, away from the street and have a window view of the Bosphorus. The room was in great shape and seemed to have been renovated in the past couple years. Bathroom was in complete working order and quite clean....

A little hotel in a great location

This 10-room little hotel located in the heart of the commercial section of the Sultanahmet. It is 5-10 minutes walk to half of the major sights of Istanbul. Our room on the top floor offered a good view of the Bosphorus strait. The hotel staff are helpful and cheerful. For 60 Euro a night, this is an excellent deal. There are many small hotels in this district, and I highly recommend the location for tourist.

Chose this hotel on the internet based on very few reviews - I was extremely pleased when I arrived. The photos online are ok but the hotel is much nicer in person. The rooms are not huge, but very adequate and the price is very reasonable. The location is perfect - within sight of the Blue Mosque and short walks to it, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and the sea. Very nice hotel.Its not a 5 star hotel but It's not expensive, the rooms are great and very clean and tidy. There is a bar on top of the bulding, which has a nice view on istanbul, you can see the blue mosque and the haya sophia from there. Stayed at the hotel for five nights. I had reserved a triple room as it was advertised as being available. They basically took a double room and added a fold away bed to it. The room was never cleaned while we were there. We discovered that instead of giving us new towels, which was not a big deal, they took the wet towels which were hanging, and folded them up and put them back on the shelf.
