Viking Star Hotel

Problem with overbooking at start of holiday and had to spend a nite in another hotel which was very substandard but all taxis to and from were paid for by Viking Star and staff were very helpful and we got to use the facillities and dine there with full all inclusive content. I believe this problem was due to the first management team which the hotel had when it opened in May this year but management has since changed and improvements have been substantial. Our group of twelve arrived at 5.30am in Viking Star Kemer. Of our 6 double rooms only one was booked. Because of the early hour we were unable to contact our English rep (Hays Travel, Teletext) or our local rep. We were bought coffee and drinks which were well needed. just returned from the viking star with no complaints at all. we had a great room, good food, great entertainment, nice people and a wonderful holiday. i am sorry that some that have travelled before had problems but i can only assume that there were a few teething problems as we had no complaints whatsoever. it was about 42 degrees everyday with a cooler breeze round the pool but i have to admit that we sat in the shade between 12 and 3 as it was just a bit too hot for us. i would definately recommend this hotel but of... more

We stayed at the Viking Star for one week. Yes there are a few teething problems,but the staff did their best to sort them out. The only problem we had is with the sun beds,with everyone leaving their towels on them. I thought the hotel was lovely and clean and the food was of a good standard. I just think the British like to moan,if you are a fussy eater stay in England and eat fish and chips.I thought for what we paid for the week was excellent value for money, and I would go back. quite new hotel and did not have everything quite right - however accommodation and settings were good - the animation team were excellent - the biggest issue was the food - trying to cater for all nationalities which meant if you were a fussy eater you might struggle - we found the holiday inexpensive - plenty of sunshine and clean accommodation - on the whole a good value for money holiday

Right... i think some time to redress the balance somewhat. I have just returned from Viking Star, and for the most, had a very nice time. The weather was glorious, the rooms were clean and spacious (and thank heavens for the air con!!) The down sides are the food, the a la carte resteraunt and the location. we have just returned from viking star. have to agree with other reports regarding food etc. if you want a sunbed get up early and sit there unless you want your towel removed!! we found that because we were in the minority compared to the russians that most english people spoke to each other. have to say we met some lovely people who made our holiday enjoyable. it was our first time to turkey and we loved it but was not very keen on the hotel. it was definitely overcrowded i.e. meal times and pool area. my daughter and my grandson... more

We booked a week at the Viking Star Hotel in Kemer from 26/6 – 4/7/2007 and what an experience it was. We saw the holiday advertised on Teletext the price seemed really good for a 5* all inclusive holiday and despite the fact that there were no online reviews for the hotel we decided from the description of the hotel and facilities we’d give it a go. The Viking Star Hotel – Kemer. Where do I start? We booked this hotel through Media Travel via Teletext. We arrived at the Viking Star at about 3 pm on 19th June 2007.
