Moevenpick Hotel Izmir

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights in April and had a wonderful time. The rooms are large and modern and the breakfast buffet was out of this world. We highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: Spacious, modern room, elevator in hotel, very friendly front desk clerk helped us arrange car rental (hotel pickup and airport drop off); easy to get to from Izmir airport by taxi Cons: Room was not ready at check-in (had not been cleaned, extra bed was missing; no water/coffee); "business center" computer did not work; staff had trouble providing directions and suggestions for dining. Would recommend, but not for over $100USD per night.

The Movenpick in Izmir is located in the most happening part of Izmir city close to the sea side restaurants and high street shops. Comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, good food.

A great hotel with very polite staff and excellent service...Unfortunately the two days I stayed it was April and the central heating system was still turned to warm. I tried swithcing to cool mode form the switch in my room but no luck, only warm air would come out. I then switched it off completely but to my surprise during my second night and sometime like at 4 am the heater (although was switched off) started blowing warm air again!! The Mövenpick has become the favourite hotel of business travelers coming to Izmir, in part because of its central location. It is a renovation of an older hotel, so the building is not as modern as the interior. My overall impression is favourable: Our room was spacious and well furnished, the bathroom was well equipped, service was excellent, the restaurant was good, and the spa adequate.
