Ambiance Villas at Kin-Ha Hotel

We stayed at the Kin-Ha in 2001 and again in 2002. Had 2 totally differences there.The first trip we were upgraded to a lovely suite. With the exception of a couple of the people, the staff there are rude. However, we didn't have that much contact with them so that was okay. I will say this. Of the 5 different places we've stayed in Cancun ranging from Deluxe to moderate, the KIN-HA has the BEST beach in Cancun. Plenty of chairs on the beach, plenty of palapas. I booked this property BEFORE reading all of the reviews on this site. So when I finally came here about two weeks ago, I became much more concerned about our upcoming visit to Ambiance Villas. We (family of four, kids aged 8 and 5) just returned from our stay (2/7 - 2/12) and couldn't have enjoyed it anymore. As everyone has noted, it is very well located. Just got back from a four-night stay at the Ambiance Villas (Feb. 1-4, 2004)and loved this resort. It was quiet, not a party place where the noisy fun-loving crowd and bus loads of tourists would likely be found. We had a one bedroom suite with a view to die for (Room 3401)!! It was so quiet and off by itself on the top floor with two balconies. We just spent a week at the Ambiance Villas (1/31-2/7). We had a standard partial-ocean view room, and this is our opinion: PROS: * Beautiful, clean, and tidy property...thanks to the employees, who seem to be working 24/7! *Honest personnel (for us, at least :))-- one day my wife forgot her earrings by the sink and when we returned we found a note from the front desk saying, "Please keep your valuables in the safe..." along with the earrings in the same spot. * Ideal location-- close to malls &... more

A group of us visited this hotel in the early part of 2004 and not only was our money stolen out of the safe, but also a checkbook, a debit card (which was used and put back), and brand new clothing that was in a suitcase. I would never stay here again.

Just got back from five nights at the Ambiance. There were 8 adults and a 3 year old. I booked the 3 bedroom villa from Expedia with a base rate for up to 10 adults included. We were unsure about 3 of the group, so I originally put 5 adults on the room, knowing that we had plenty of wiggle room. The 3 other persons did decide to come with us. When I checked in, they tried to charge me $30 per person per night for the other 3 people. 10 of us stayed at the Ambiance in January 2004. The beach was nice. The concierge was fantastic! But I still was not entirely happy. We were told over the phone that the "3-story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath villa" has 3 floors only to find out that the building is three stories tall but your villa is only on one floor. No big deal - but they purposely mislead us. The kicker though was that we had over $400 stolen and the hotel didn't much care. Majority of the money was stolen out of the safe! during recent stay in cancun i checked out ambiance for a possible future stay. It is a great place for family type vacation with kids-the complex has recently been remodeled so is like new. The beach is perfect-the pool is a little boring though. Only one block from a grocery store that has reasonable prices but do not take the kids with you because the busy street is hard to cross and dangerous. the presidental hotel is right next door if you want a fancy place to eat.The ambiance has a resturant right on the beach with good prices. we are seniors and spent seven nights at this hotel in December,03.. The hotel was very comfortable and great for seniors and families. The beach is the best in Cancun with soft sand and no rocks. It is convenient to the Caracol Mall where there are many restarants and great shops. Staff was very friendly and responded to needs in a profesional manner. The hotel is a 4 floor low rise apt. style...no need to wait for elevators. When I was searching for a hotel this one was the best deal and wasn't expecting much since it was cheap...but also I went there during the low season. I reserved a standard room but upon arrival was upgraded to a suite that had a living room, dinning room, kitchen, walk-in closets, two balconies and a beautiful view, simply gorgeous!....not to mention I paid $50/night.
