We have just returned from the Hoteture and we don’t have one complaint. There were 5 of us altogether and each of us thoroughly enjoyed it.

The only thing that could be improved was the a la carte restaurant; however this is just our opinion, not because the food wasn’t good, it was fantastic quality however the main thing on the menu at the minute is shrimp, which there was only one member of our party liked. You can have beef in the main course which is delicious.

The buffet restaurant is great, we ate here most nights and always got a good choice of food, fresh fruit, veg, steak, chicken, beef, spaghetti bol, potatoes, chips and so much more. Then there is the Italian restaurant which again is brilliant. Some things in the restaurants were not to our taste but the standard was fantastic, and there was never much waste.

The pool area is only small as other reviews say, but we was never once stuck for a sun lounger and no one reserved there sunbeds. Pool area was cleaned every night. The beach is fantastic which you are right on.

The rooms are by far the best I have ever stayed in they are so bright and airy, loads of space, cleaned every day, on one day one of the group was ill and spent most of the day in bed (this is due to alcohol, no sympathy!!!) The maid had called 3 times through her shift, seeing him in bed left, so when she was due to go from her shift, they called up to the room to if we wanted them to clean or needed towels!

All the staff at this hotel where fantastic, all we would say is just giving them a tip every now and again they really appreciate it and it goes a long way.

Cancun itself is fantastic, you can have a relaxing Caribbean holiday just chilling out on the beach or by the pool, or go and catch a bus to one of the shopping malls, or go to the strip with the bars, coco bongos and hard rock cafe are a must!

The only thing that let us down on this holiday where the company we travelled with, MY TRAVEL, now part of the Thomas cook group. The rep is only there twice a week, but the thing that really let us down was the aircraft, the leg room was minimal I’m quite tall but I’d say about average at 5'8 and my knees where pressed against the seat in front of me. It is definitely the most uncomfortable flight we have ever done even though we have flew with my travel many times before.

But all in all our holiday was fantastic and we would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Have a great time.

I cannot believe how much this...

I cannot believe how much this place exceeded our expectations. This was our first all inclusive holiday and we weren't expecting much for our money (as it was one of the cheapest places we found).

But we arrived to a very spacious and clean room (2 double beds for 2 people) with a perfect view of both the sea and lagoon.

As for the drinks, the only thing that wasn’t included was a bottle of wine, and all the cocktails were great especially the ones Gus specially made up according to my likes and I didn't even need to ask.

The food was great and plentiful. I am a fussy person but was constantly stuffed as there was always a wide selection. The Mediterranean restaurant was especially amazing.

It may be a bit far down the beach but the buses were so cheap and ran constantly that it was never a problem. In fact I feel we had one of the nicer parts of the beach with perfect sand and clear water. Had a walk down some of the beach and it only seemed to get a bit worse, if you can ever call the Caribbean Sea and beaches worse!

As for the entertainers, Jorge and Tavo, they were absolutely brilliant. We wanted a fairly quiet holiday and we were included when we wanted to be and left alone when we didn't. They kept everyone entertained all day long and then came back for the nightly entertainment (which was always different) and then took you into to town if you wanted to go to some of the most unique bars/nightclubs I've ever been to.

I can imagine that during the busy season things may not be as perfect but if you’re after a quiet relaxing holiday don't go in that season as all the hotels will be struggling to keep up with it. But in low season if you are after a nice relaxed holiday with enough to keep you busy (went past many hotels with 1 or 2 people sitting by the pool looking really bored) pick the Beach Paradise.

Absolute brilliant value for money!

After reading the reviews for Hotetur beach paradise, I was a bit wary of what to expect, but as soon as I got there I relaxed!

The hotel is spotless, room’s excellent, food good, and although the reception had a seriously abrupt woman working there, all the rest of the staff were brilliant.

We took a particular shine to 'Gus' the barman who constantly kept the all inclusive drinks flowing!

Overall a great resort, weather hot, and town easily accessible by bus (just watch the drivers don’t short change you!)

My only complaint was with Thomson themselves, but overall a brilliant holiday. I would recommend doing as many activities as possible as there’s loads to see and do!

I have taken this long to post my review mainly because I just wanted to forget I ever went to Mexico. I have stumbled across this hotel again and felt I must say something. Myself, my partner and our 2 children went to this hotel. My first impression was that it wasn’t a 3 star or even a star at all. The hotel lobby is foul and I just took a deep breath after an 11 hour flight and hoped I was tired. We were shown to your room. 7th floor. Rooms were big enough, the furniture in them was a total disgrace. The table and chairs, the bed and anything else was hanging on for dear life. The cot they brought for my daughter to sleep in was like something from a Romanian orphanage. I couldn’t believe my eyes.

We went down for breakfast and the dining room/ restaurant wasn’t full and now we know why. The kidney beans they served for breakfast didn’t appeal to people, or maybe the rice wasn’t suitable. Everything they had to offer was either off or had been out the night before.

The meals they served by the pool was left uncovered. The workers were out cooking it at 9am and by the time it opened at 12 it was freezing cold and swimming in bugs and flies. None of use ate at all. My daughter was 8 month old then so I had to keep going into the kitchen to get milk and to warm it. It was filthy, dirty cockroach ridden. My partner was furious and we started to talk about it one day and another couple overheard, the poor lady was in tears. Cockroaches were falling from the ceiling while we were sat at the bar. The whole hotel wants knocking down. The staff didn’t speak English at all so we couldn’t even communicate with them. We complained to the rep and she was rude and extremely unhelpful. I ended up ringing work, yes I am a travel agent and getting the Airtours manager to move us. Which took 4 days and £600.

This hotel is by far the most soul destroying place I have ever been to. It’s a filthy, dirty place. The food is just put out at every sitting, its all left overs from the day before. I know this for a fact as I had to go in the kitchen every night to make a bottle for my baby. I saw it all stacked up.

When we got moved we had to check out and the hotel staff were aware of us not being happy. They checked our room and came back and wanted to charge us £140 for a crack on the outside of the window (yes we were on the 7th floor) and that one of the chairs legs were broken. We refused to pay this and they phoned the police. We just left and they followed us shouting abuse at me and my children. It is the most horrifying experience for us and our girls. We ended up in the oasis playa and it was a total different holiday. Food was better, hotel was lovely and the beach in Cancun is the best beach I’ve ever been on. But the holiday was already ruined.

Stay away from this hotel. I will give my honest advice as a travel agent and I honestly don't know how it’s still on sale. Avoid like the plague however cheap it is!

I'm a little late in writing this since I stayed in March of 2004 for spring break. But it was so bad that I had to get the word out there regardless of time!

Check in/out is a nightmare. The front desk people are rude and just want your money. They only accept cash at that. Since I was a spring breaker, they think I’m there to drink and break things. They refused to give me my room until I paid the 35 US dollars to get an insurance band for my wrist. I refused to pay so I gave them my passport to hold. I finally got to my room (after about 50 mins) to find that a table was broken. I called down to the desk right away and they attempted to charge me $50 (US!) to fix it unless I bought the insurance band. Great way to start off a week vacation isn’t it?

Food: Nasty. The buffet had dead flies in it and it was very cold. I tried to reserve a spot at the "nice" restaurant in the hotel. I called to reserve the night I came in but it was booked for the whole week. There went my chance for some decent food maybe.

Bars: Personally, I love all types of alcohol (being a college student then) the only choice they gave us to drink is beer. Bad beer. It was like drinking warm pee (seriously).

Taxi’s/ Bus: Since this hotel is the second to last place, it takes about 15 to 20 mins to get to the downtown area for clubs or shopping. Also since they changed the name of the hotel, many of the bus/taxi people don’t know what you’re talking about. So you need to call it by it’s previous name (Yalmakan).

Please do not give them the satisfaction of your business!
