A fantastic hotel in a fantastic setting.
The food was all wonderful. You could go for the easy option of the self serve or you had a choice of three other restaurants which all served wonderful fresh food.
While on our honeymoon there we had no need to complain. Te only thing I would recommend is that you try you best to get a sea view room. I would have been a bit disappointed if I have a view of the rear of the hotel.
It was a short bus trip into the centre of Cancun where there was plenty of night life. Keep your wits about you though!

I have just returned from my 2 week holiday in Cancun with my Boyfriend. We both really enjoyed ourselves. I can honestly say that it was 1 of the best holidays i have been on.
The hotel was lovely, Very well presented, the rooms were very big with TV including Sky. The maid always ensured that your room was very clean.
The staff could not do enough for you. If there were anything you needed, they would try their best to help. The entertainment staff were fantastic. They work very hard ensuring that your holiday is perfect. You are really made to feel welcome. The entertainment staff ran trips every evening to local nightspots. I found this beneficial as this allowed you to mix with other guests staying at the hotel, also allowing you to see the best places to visit in Cancun I.e.. Coco Bongos, G Spot and Daddy Os.
The food at the hotel was nice. The Hotel had a number of restaurants. i.e.. Steak House, Fix and Al a Carte. The only let done with the food is that the hotel needed more selection for evening meals. This didn’t effect our holiday in any way as guests are able to use the sister hotel Crown Paradise restaurants and facilities.
The golden Crown is an adult only hotel which i found as a great benefit as this allowed you to relax.
The beach at the hotel was beautiful. You are able to participate in a number of water activities which does come at a cost.
I will definately be returning to the Golden Crown in the future

Just returned last week from this wonderful hotel. It truly deserves its 5*.
We were lucky enough to get one of the rooms with a Jacuzzi in it and the view from the balcony was simply perfect. We overlooked the pools and then the fabulous white beach with the most wonderful turquoise/blue colour.
The hotel itself was brilliant. We were met on arrival by one of the porters offering wet cloths so that we could refresh ourselves. We were then escorted through the reception and sat down to await our booking in clerk. Whilst waiting we were given a cocktail to sip. Once we had booked in, we were given a key for the safe, two key cards and the remote control for the television!.
The room was huge. Fully air conditioned (didn’t go off when you left your room either). We had clean sheets and towels every day and our cleaner made little birds with the face cloths and left a lily by the Jacuzzi every morning. The room had satellite TV and a CD player. We also had a mini fridge, which was stocked with various drinks. A coffee machine was also in the room, ideal if you woke early to sit on the balcony and listen to the sound of the waves. We had, I think, one of the honeymoon suites even though it wasn’t our honeymoon.
The restaurants (of which there were 4) were excellent. There was a fish restaurant, an a la carte restaurant, a steak house and the normal restaurant. We tended to eat in the evenings mainly in the steak (Old Barn) restaurant and only once in the a la carte which I must say was wonderful. My husband does not care for fish so I’m afraid I cannot comment on the service in there, but I never heard anyone complain. There were also snack bars during the day and 2 beach bars where the girl would come around to your sun bed and ask if you wanted anything to drink - heaven!
The hotel itself is situated off the main road and so there is no traffic noise, but just a short walk brings you to the main road and a bus to the shopping plaza (La Isla) only costs 13 pesos for the two of you.
This hotel is an adult only hotel but it was not filled with old people - mixture of families and couples but the families were aged 18 and above. In the evening there is a theatre showing various programmes, a small bar at one end of the hotel, a beach bar, which stays open for ages and never seems to be empty - still not noisy. and another bar in the hotel with a very large TV screen. There are also three shops within the lobby of the hotel, one selling gifts, one selling a mixture of gifts, medicines, clothes and the other is a jewellers.
There are plenty of sun beds around the large pool and beach towels are supplied. There are sun beds on the beach too with very large parasols and a table with a little bin for your rubbish (hardly ever saw any kind of rubbish littering the beach, just the occasional cigarette end). This hotel also boasts an outside Jacuzzi, which stays open until at least 11:00pm. There is a small area on the beach where you can have a massage. There is also a large crazy golf course inside one end of the hotel.
I could go on and on (I think I have!) about this hotel. The staff - so so friendly and very obliging - nothing was too much trouble, from carrying your luggage to your room to opening a taxi door for your. Two members of staff that I had a lot to do with during this holiday were Romi, on reception, and Elpedio, who was the Food and Drinks Manager. Both of these lovely people turned themselves inside out so that our holiday was perfect. I can highly recommend this hotel. We met a few lovely people during our stay, American and British, and none of them had a bad word to say about this hotel. We loved it. Lots more to say but not enough time! Give it a try if you are looking for adults only, good food, great location, lovely staff and a relaxing holiday.

Wow!!! What can I say? I spent 2 weeks here with my boyfriend (28 & 26) and we had the best holiday ever.
Everything about this hotel is perfect - the location, surroundings, staff, food, you name it. We are already planning our trip back next May and are going there to get married in 2007.
There is simply too much to write about this place but believe me you won’t be disappointed - any questions feel free to e-mail me on evie28@hotmail.co.uk and I’ll try to answer your questions as best I can.
This truly is a top class absolutely fantastic hotel and I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Hotel staff most helpful and friendly. No restrictions on drink and food excellent. Water too rough to swim in but very clean. Good position as halfway on hotel zone. Would recommend.
Would NOT recommend First Choice. Paid for upgrade (£500) but not allowed to recline seats for 11 hour flight. No compensation so far!!
