Golden Crown Hotel

Booked hotel three months ın advance on ınternet. Management does not honor bookıng (ın spıte of showıng them the confırmatıon of our bookıng), after an hour of shufflıng papers they send us by taxı to another hotel (we have to pay) , where we lıkewıse have to waıt, but where a solutıon ıs eventually found for us. This is not a 4- or 5-star hotel. They made it clear in the price they charge. For the money I paid, I don't think I can find a better place to stay in Istanbul. The location is perfect. A block away from a tram station. You can walk to the Grand Bazaar in 5 minutes. Blue Mosque is a minute or two further in a different direction. There are 2 hamams within walking distance. I stayed at the hotel on two occasions during September 2007 and on the first visit I had a beautiful big room and on the second visit a much smaller room. It you’re on holiday all you need is a clean and comfortable place to sleep so the size of the room did not matter that much to me. The hotel has a good location, good breakfast for a three star hotel in Istanbul, it is very clean and the staff extremely helpful. – Great place to stay at the price

The golden Crown hotel is well situated in Istanbul for seeing the major cultural sites. This hotel is comfortable with very clean rooms and a reasonable continental style breakfast. The staff are very helpful pointing out the best places and how to get to them. This hotel is a three star but it seems a little better than that.

We stayed in this Hotel for 3nights on the 9th Sept. Very small rooms just enough room to pass between the end of the bed and the wall. Otherwise breakfast adequate, rooms clean and serviced daily. Up a steep hill to the main street with the Tram System. Within walking distance of all you might want to see.

Room Tiny! I was exhausted so i didn't bother about the noise. But the room was so small there's just 2 twin beds and space for your bag. Bathroom Absolutely tiny! I'm relatively small built (Wear size S or M). and i could hardly squat in the shower without touching the sides of the shower cubicle. They also squeezed a toilet and sink in the bathroom so there's hardly space to change. Price We paid 48 Euro (all-inclusive) so it wasn't that bad... I travelled to Istanbul with a friend and had a twin room. We found this hotel over the internet. We chose it for the price and the location. The rooms were clean and tidy, but a little small. The desciption describes air conditioning, but we couldn't get it to work, only heat! The area seems to be going through a redevelopment, and you currently look out of the window onto a factory, so is quite noisy during the week, but VERY quiet at the weekend.
