Although it was in July last year that we stayed at the Palm Court, if you take a holiday in this hotel be prepared for nothing special. Our room was acceptable, the air con didin't work properly and the balcolny scary to say the least. The hotel is run down, our room was situated on the 5 floor, but it was ok. The swimming pool was adequate, do not go full board as you have to queue up at recept,on to get a voucher for a drink, full board people were queing alot not good.
On the positive side the holiday cost just over £100-00/person for one week, half board.
We spent most of our time out of the hotel and just slept there more or less.
For the price we paid it was reasonable, we would go again to palm court but we wouldn't pay alot for it.

My Wife and I paid nearly £600 for one week B&B. First impression was not good. There was a smell of decay about the place, but there was worse to come. We went to our room through a maze of badly light corridors over smelly, dirty carpets and entered our room through a door whose doorknob was nearly falling off and which had various holes filled with lumps of filler sticking out as also had the doorframe. Inside the sliding window to the balcony was jammed shut. The ceiling fan was lose and wobbled. The tiny shower room, in general, both in equipment and cleanliness was poor. The double bed had a cheap thin matress and the bedding did not look fresh and clean.
We refused to accept the room and demanded a change of hotel. We were put in the Venus nearby which was a vast improve but we still had to eat at the Palm Court where the dining room is down in the almost windowless, airless, sweaty basement which is reached by a long dim corridor on the same brown carpet bordered by dust and little bits of wallpaper fallen from the walls and, finally by stairs. There is a lift down but, like the other lift in the hotel, it refuses to respond when you press the button. Staff told us to keep pressing the button and that it would eventually arrive but quite often it did'nt.
Breakfast each day consisted of fried eggs overcooked so they were like rubber discs. Scrambled egg floating in water, small tasteless sausages and baked beans.
Two types of cereal of the cheapest kind which tasted like eating sawdust. The fruit juices were watered down.
Having experienced this twice we decided that, although we had paid for B&B, we would eat out for the rest of the week.
I complained to the rep. that I had been mislead to believing Palm Court was a three star hotel but she insisted that the classification on my account was correct. If so it MUST be removed for in trading standard terms it must be fraudulent to trade under such desception. Many people in the hotel on 'all inclusion' holidays appear to have paid far less than I did and, whilst not very happy, did not complain because, they said, 'you get what you paid for'. However cheap nothing warrents the appalling conditions in this hotel.
I've travelled to forty different countries in my life and have never experienced a 'Palm Court' at a 3 star hotel in my life, but this one week holiday has cost me over £800 bearing in mind the need to eat out.
I've since found out that on T.V it is considered to be the second worst hotel in Europe. I think that's too generous.

After reading all the bad reviews I was concerned at spending a week at the Palm Court Hotel but I enjoyed the week.
It is basic, badly needs decorating, is poorly maintained and one lower corridor smells of diesel; it is scheduled for a major refit this winter.
BUT it is very well located; bus terminus and coast only a few minutes walk. For 3 we had 2 large rooms with loads of storage. It was very useful that breakfast started at 7:30, the food was OK and plenty of it, but not much variety, and usually there were hot plates. A light bulb was replaced within 30 minutes of reporting it. The staff were helpful and pleasant. If you are used to 4 star places go elsewhere but VERY cheap, excellent value, and a good upgrade from camping or self catering. The rating is with the Malta Bargains package price.

THE PALM COURT HOTEL !!!!!! You are having a laugh arent you? its not a hotel , its a slum, firstly you are treated like service men and women by a drill instructor! Nothing works in the rooms ( sorry cells ) ! and if you complain you either have to wait till the morning when the maintenance man comes or just do what i did and change rooms.... 3 times for christs sake!!! there is no manager, if you have a problem you have to deal with the rude and unfriendly monster at the reception, and the only solution to any problem is to either put up with it or change rooms! there is no sound proofing whatsoever, so you can hear next door having a pee... yuk.... the maids are all thieves, i had some food stolen, and when i confronted the head cleaner about it, she said that my 16 yr old son must have eaten it as the cleaners would never steal.....YEAH RIGHT! i sternly told her that if i dont get the food replaced or the money back then i would see a solicitor and sue them..... half an hour later they returned with some fresh food that exactly replaced what they took, and i didnt even tell them what food was stolen, so what does that tell you? the swimming pool looks like a health hazard , there is no chlorine in it and you cannot see your hand if you put it in the pool,.... there is a lovely english cleaner there, if you get her cleaning your room, she is really sweet, the maintenance man is her husband and he is very helful too, but as for the rest of the staff, just rude, unfriendly, never smile, everything is always a problem for them....i beg my fellow brits...DO NOT GO THERE PLEASE FOR YOUR SANITY AND HEALTH.

Me and my boyfriend went to Malta and stayed in Palm Court the worse hotel we ever been to.It was smely and dirty and in our room nothing was working no light in a bathroom no air con no fan no safeand dodgey beds.Staff did not have any costumer service and they were not very helpfull either.Food was even worse and we end up going to restaurants evey day.One day we heard somone screaming in the kitchen RAt!!So u can image how great the food was and how clean the hotel was.The swiming area and the swiming pool was terrible i would never ever go for swim in there it was not even cleaned propley. On second day we been robbed £300 phone Mp3 player 90 euro and watch. In one day the cleaners who were hired (and still probably are)from agency by hotel stole 7 grand worth of stuff and they been doing it for weeks. When we went to the police they said we can not do anything we have no proof claim it on insurance i mean what law they have in there so u can anserw yourself. The same day we found a letter in our room that managment it is not responsible for any valuables missing from the room.Totaly ridiculase.I would not recomend that hotle to my worst enemy.Do not ever go to PALM COURT.It is a disaster.

This hotel is definately in need of a face lift, probably not the safest building on the block considering a high percentage of its clientele is the older adult. It is cheap and it definately has some draw backs, such as the 'diesel smell' in the main corridor, the overpowering heat in the dining room, as well as the uninspired choice of food although there is a choice, and the system that is in force when buying drinks at the hotel. However our rooms were clean, shower and air con worked and it cost £120 a week less than other hotels in the area. Thefts did occur but don't leave your valuables out. Happens in top class hotels to!!! We personally would not have spent more time in the hotel even if it had been better. They need to improve things but we met people that had been there more than once so there must be some thing right with the place.

I found the Palm Court a nightmare. On arrival I was made to feel as if I was a criminal by being told with no explanation given as to why to stand and have my photo taken then being very abruptly processed like some sort of animal and then left to my own devises to find the lift and my room. The room was filthy, ring marks from glasses all over the place, the bathroom filthy and it looked as if the toilet hadnt been cleaned for weeks. Apart from Christopher in the bar and another lady in the bar by reception I found the rest of the staff rude and unhelpful. Every where I went all I saw were notices telling us what we couldnt do and threats of fines for any infringment. I have never known anywhere that charged you for the remote control. Thankfully I found civilised places to eat and be entertained and found the people top class. I would advise anyone that even if they were offered a free holiday at the Palm Court dont even think of it.

3 star !!, my foot, more like minus 3 star (who rated it?, the owners mum.)
The place stinks of damp, and what smells like "diesel", It is filthy, and all the cleaners do apart from make your bed and change your towels, is rifle through your belonings stealing anything of value. (£500 in my case the first day)
The food is mostly hot, and i had a lovely tomato one day.
This "Hotel" should be closed NOW, Its disgusting, please please dont do it!!!
Some parts of the Island are nice, but this resort is dirty derilict and very downmarket "Blackpool or Margate style"..............

When I arrived at Palm Court, Malta I was given a room that smelt of damp and the air condition did not work. I complained and another room was given. The air con worked, however there was no way of turning it off. The breakfast was horrible. Toast your safe with but if you like lots and lots of greese go for the eggs, bacon, sausages. I tried the fried breakfast. It was really greasy and I was sick afterwards. After that I decided to pay for breakfast outside the hotel along with dinner as well. I did not want to try the dinner. God knows what that is like.
The sun loungers near the pool were disgusting. The pool its self was not nice either. Most of the sun loungers were broken and very uncomfy. To top it off when back to the room after sunbathing Saturday 13sep08, 35 euros had gone missing from my boyfriends wallet which was in a drawer. Also later that evening I noticed that MY PSP CONSOLE WITH GAMES WAS STOLEN (£250 WORTH). This was in the wardrobe. I reported this to the hotel and the police. I was advised that there has been seven thefts within a week. There are signs to say that there are 24 hr cameras everywhere. The police visited on Sunday 14th Sept and there are no cameras apart from in the reception area. What good is that. A member of staff who i reported ithe theft to gave me a form to fill in so that its past to management. On Monday I asked one of the young ladies behind reception to speak to management and was told there wasnt any. I asked for someone senior in case they did not understand and was still advise there is no management. I spoke to the REP Tuesday as she did not work monday and was told there was nothing they could do about the theft apart from report it to the police and let the insurance sort it out. I know all this already. The rep was useless. The following day a letter was slipped through the door advising that management are not responsible for personel belongings and that they should be kept in a safe either in reception or in the room. There is a safe in the room but they dont have the locks for them any more. Why should i have to lock a games console away in reception and take it out every day when i want to use it. It was not on display, it was hidden. Maids are there to clean the room and make the bed not go through drawers and wardrobes. DO NOT STAY IN PALM COURT NO MATTER IF THE HOLIDAY PACKAGE IS CHEAP, OR LAST MINUTE AS IT WILL RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY

where do i start, the night i landed i was robbed within 6hours by the cleaners who when confronted just srugged, i complained to reception and she told me its my own fault, when asked to call the police she refused, the staff are terrible there, the food was unedable, my eventually got transfered over to the venus which was just as bad, they messed up my booking and said i wasn't down, then after going to the venus they gave somebody else our room key and they came in while we was asleep, there was no air con just a fan, they never cleaned the rooms, they took our bath mat and never replaced it, the light was hanging off the wall, the pool has all cracked tiles, our view was of bags of cement dumped in the garden, the drinks system was terrible gettin a recipt from recption then goin the bar for them to mess up the order, plus you could only get 1 drink each, the place smelt bad, 2 other people was robbed that same week, the pool guy dropped cemicles in the pool by accident then just walked off, the pool wasn't pumped clean water the balcony doesn't lock our toilet seat wasn't fitted right, we payed £450, and it was terrible, my advice knock the place down!
it really is faulty towers!

A very tired and unwelcoming hotel, definatley not three star more like two star.
following points you need to take into account when booking are as follows.
Carpets filthy.
Dimly lit hallways.
Paint flakeing of the walls and ceilings
Hotel is like a rabbit warren with all the passageways.
Room never cleaned
Airconditioning dripped water all night, ceiling fan did not work.
Food very basic and not very apertizing,Staff had to be asked to clean tables so we could sit down.
Reception staff not helpfull at all.
I have never known a hotel where they make you pay for your drinks at the receiption before collecting from the bar and then only one drink at a time.
THINK OF FAWLTY TOWERS AND YOU WILL HAVE AN IDEA OF THIS PINK MONSTER

I booked a holiday to treat my step-daughter for her 21st birthday and made it clear to the tour operator that we were not to sleep in the same room, as we didn't think it appropriate. I went to Malta on the understanding that I was going to a two bedroom apartment but to my dismay, I found we had just one small bedroom with two single beds pushed very closely together. I enquired of the rep what they would do to remedy the situation and the only solution I was given was to pay an extra 12 Euro's a night for another room. I felt that I shouldn't have to pay any extra for a mistake that wasn't mine so I ended up staying every night with a cousin living in St.Paul's Bay and returning to Palm Court every day for my all inclusive.
As if this wasn't bad enough, the all inclusive meals were so bad that we went out of the hotel for most meals. Most dishes were unrecognisable, unlabelled and unediable. To obtain drinks or snacks, we first had to go to reception to order what we wanted. The receptionist then swiped our hotel card and gave us a reciept to take to the bar. This is fair enough for your fist visit, but this process had to be repeated every time you wanted to order a drink, and you could only order one drink per person at any one time. This even applied to drinks of water, which were usually given in small, sealed bottles , but after 11:00pm I was given a glass of warm water that had obviously come from the tap.
The only good thing I can tell you about this hotel is, as my step-daughter told me, the maids came into the room every day to clean. I know there are many bad hotel reviews given by people booking cheap all inclusive deals and expecting the earth. However, I didn't expect the earth but I did expect a bit of help and understanding regarding the room and to be able to recognisethe food being served in the restaurant.
I may as well have gone camping in my campervan!
