I have to admit this is the worst hotel me and my family have ever been to, a few friends and family went to Palm Court Hotel over the Christmas season, as soon as we arrived there was a fault. The rooms were not all together and with a room of teenagers, you need to be near them. We specifically asked for the rooms all together but did we get them ... No!
The food was so rubbish we got our money back from all inclusive. We tried to upgrade but there were no rooms available, the rooms are full of cockroaches and ants, in the actual restaurant there's an ants nets on the floor, it's awful.
I cannot believe it says it a 3 star, its never seen three stars, I wouldn’t even class it as a 1 star it was that bad ! One of the night we opened the balcony door for some fresh air and one of the door panels came straight off, we actually found out they'd put it on the wrong way ! How stupid can they get?!
On one of the nights a family arrived and one of the family members slipped on the restaurant floor and was in hospital for 3 days. I would not recommend the hotel to anybody, and if you go bring some more money to upgrade, because I’m sure you will want to! This is truly a holiday from hell.
This isn't the most magnificent...

This isn't the most magnificent hotel ever but reasonable for price we paid. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a summer vacation only for a cheap short break. This hotel is quite grubby and entertainment consists of karaoke every night.
The pool is opposite a huge wall which the hotel have tried to make it look nice by painting it with palm trees and whatever but it clearly hasn't worked. It's almost like being on the border of the Berlin wall.
The food is literally grey and dry. The only thing that made this holiday was the people staying there as we all joked about the quality of the hotel. Many of us said we should get a T-shirt that said we 'Survived Palm Court'.
This hotel has been given a...

This hotel has been given a 3*rating. I do not know how, as the hotel was not clean.
I had to go and ask for my sheets & towels to be changed and there were cockroaches and ants in the bedrooms.
The food wasn't much better.
I certainly would not send anyone to this hotel till it has been brought up to a better standard.
I was told the Palm Court was...

I was told the Palm Court was "lovely" so we decided to try it, perhaps July was the wrong time to go, the place was packed, we were on the 3rd floor it was a bit like a rabbit warren, but we found our way around quite easily.
The room was basic the bathroom was a dump ,painted bath and mould around the bath, my husband got locked in bathroom and had to get maintenance man to kick door in to get him out.
Ceiling fan worked for 3 mins but had air con that worked well and it needed to it was 42 degrees!
Food was ok I’ve had better but also had worse, restaurant was clean staff friendly and helpful, pool was not nice but I can’t swim so it didn’t really bother me. Drinks were ok, beer was cold, but if you wanted a glass of ice you had to pay for it.
The hotel reps were nice and helpful, our tour guide ROSA was lovely, and we had a good time on the trips. I would go back again and use the place as a base you only need a bed and air con and a shower. And be out visiting all the lovely places there are.

I have never been so disappointed with an Hotel as much as this one.
It was really grubby, the toilets were absolutely disgusting they were black in the bottom.
You had to practically climb over the loo to get in the shower. The towels were like tissue paper.
I could not have eaten anything in the so called restaurant.
Would not stop there for anything, we moved the next day to another hotel, which was a very nice 4 star.
We will not be going back there again.

After reading other reviews we nearly cancelled our holiday. But decided to go and upgrade on arrival.
We arrived at 1 am, our room was basic but clean, our only complaint was the room had a shower and we prefer a bath ,on asking at reception we were offered the chance of any room in the hotel and were given one with a bath and shower plus a sea view 10/10 for helpfulness.
After having our first meal thoughts of an upgrade went out of our heads brilliant fresh food.
The hotel is run down and could do with a coat of paint but the service and friendliness made up for that.
From the first day to the last even though it was raining every day, our average age is sixty the staff and other guests were so friendly it felt like we had known them all our lives.
One of the best Christmas holidays we have had. Will definitely go back again. Don’t listen to moaners try it yourself.
Hotel was clean and tidy. Food...

Hotel was clean and tidy. Food was excellent. Malta is a good place to visit and ideal for those on a budget.
Excellent bus service throughout the whole of Malta which makes travelling and sightseeing very easy and affordable.
However, Roads can be very steep in places which makes it difficult for older people or people with disabilities to get around.
Well what can I say about the...

Well what can I say about the Palm Court? The hotel is basic but the rooms are alright. Myself and by brother where on the 3rd floor. The first room was a bit small and the heating didn't work. I complained and nothing was done at first. Then we were given a bigger room with heating.
This was my first time here. The food was basic but ok. The breakfasts were bad, but you can have bread and cheese which wasn't too bad. My brother had stayed at the Palm Court about six times. He isn't a fussy eater, but he even said the food had gone down hill.
The flight was great and staff very friendly. The plane doesn't land like a sack of spuds like in some other peoples complaints. Any way how would they know how a sack of spuds land who knows? This hotel would suit the older person.
My suggestion would be to hire a car for a few days and explore the island. It is a cheap deal and is fine for a break, there is air con in each room too. The lifts are small but we had no problems with them. The swimming pools needed a clean, but being winter no one was using them. There are rat runs as people say but it doesn't take long to work out the layout of the hotel which makes it more fun.
On the whole not a bad hotel for the price and the staff are friendly, would go again no problems.

Weren’t that sure on what to expect as these reviews are varied.
On arrival it didn’t seem too bad, except having to try and find the room with at least 1 suitcase each, there was 7 of us!
We were on third floor as well. The elevators were small and claustrophobic and didn’t seem too safe.
On day 2, just outside one of our rooms, there was a leak, or should I say flood! They said they were sorting it out but it wasn't even sorted by the time we left!
Not just that the pool was COVERED in soot and the balconies outside our rooms got covered in it, Even when sunbathing you got coved in it, one of the people who we went with, complained and they said it was a one off, but it last continuously for the whole duration of the holiday!
The rooms given were appalling as the sheets and pillow cases were over used, and the bathroom was "grubby" and rusty. The rooms had a slight smell of damp on entry.
The beds didn’t seem safe and more handmade than bought. The doors were stiff and the keys were MASSIVE and didn’t really fit into many bags that were portable.
The games room wasn’t actually a games room, many of the equipment didn’t work, and the stuff that did, was old and partly broken.
If that wasn't bad enough, we all thought the food was appalling and not suitable; we weren’t the only ones!
I know we weren’t expected top notch as it was cheap, but we didn’t expect all this.
This was my second stay at the...

This was my second stay at the Palm Court, and I've booked to go again in March 2008. The rooms may be basic but they are clean with a daily maid service.
The staff are wonderful. At the time of this visit my daughter was suffering from a severe depressive episode and spent quite alot of the time in our room, the staff spent time talking to her and made her stay a really nice one, this is why I am going back and will more than likely be returning every year for the foreseeable future.
Palm Court may not be to everyone’s standard but what we want on holiday - a nice clean room with clean bedding and food that suits everyone.
If you want the Hilton stay at the Hilton, if on the other hand you want a budget holiday then you can enjoy the Palm Court it’s perfect.

I have been to Palm Court many times... this year I came in August for 2wks and also in September for 1 wk and I am now returning for Christmas for 2wks. There is 6 of us that come 2 adults 4 kids....
Palm Court isn't the Ritz or a 5 star hotel and it doesn't make out to be either... its a cheap and very cheerful place!
Our rooms have always been clean and tidy on arrival, also are cleaned daily, yes it could do with a lick of paint but you also get a lot of people not respecting it to by barging their luggage into the wall and knocking paint and plaster off so that can work both ways!!!
The staff are friendly and helpful in the hotel and restaurant... also the people that you phone up to book your holiday are always happy to help polite and friendly.
The food yes again not A* but is always something to eat but again if your paying McDonalds price you aint gonna get a la cart!!
Palm Court is in a very nice area of Malta close to lots, you can get a bus just round the corner to anywhere on the island. There are also shops just outside the hotel that stock just about anything with nice friendly staff.
There is a family run bar/restaurant opposite the hotel very lovely family of 5 brothers hence the name We5... the food is out of this world, the bar stocks just about every drink and all the brothers are so friendly and polite. When we wasn't in the hotel we was at the We5 couldn't have been made more welcome...

Worst accommodation, if you can call it that that I have ever seen. Really thought I was going with eyes wide open, knowing it wasn't going to be the best but at least a clean place to sleep. WRONG, disgusting and totally decrepit, it should be pulled down; most of our fellow guest would have been willing to do so.
The doors to rooms did not lock, some didn’t shut properly. Toilet door hanging on one hinge, I could go on and on. The corridors are like a rabbit warren, loads that split and go in different directions, a real hazard in an emergency.
Restaurant- cafe- room with a smell, we didn't eat there, sewage smell just too much.
Stayed one night and got out ASAP next morning by paying £50 each to upgrade to another 3 star hotel, The relax Inn. Lovely, a palace compared to Palm Court. Lovely rooms, food (ate there every night), atmosphere and staff (family run).
Will certainly return to beautiful Malta and definitely stay with our new friends at the Relax Inn.

We have been going to Malta for the last nine years, staying at various hotels in St. Pauls area. We came across the Palm Court some years ago.
Many people complain about the rooms, food ,etc, but usually have been more than once!
The rooms are basic, and the foods ok. In our experience. There is always something to make a meal from.
We stay there because it enables us to see a beautiful country, on a budget. We used to go once a year, but due to the cheap accommodation, we now go at least twice a year.
If you want a holiday, doing nothing but laying round a pool all day, and eating in the hotel all the time, then this is not the place for you. It is a cheap, basic hotel to use to put your head at night. Where many people go year after year.
Our only comment is the staff could be more helpful and friendly. And the entertainment needs changing, it’s been the same since we have been going!
Give the place a break!

I don’t understand the fuss I paid £282 all inclusive for 1 week
You don’t pay much for the hotel the flights are where the money goes and British jet is not owned by the hotel at the moment.
The staff are Friendly and helpful. The company manager was happy to talk and listen to people.
The rooms were clean. The bedding was clean. The maids came daily.
The all inclusive drinks were stated in the brochure (local drinks) including spirits.
We had a problem in our room and maintenance came to repair it straight away, they even offered to move us rooms but we were happy with the one we had.
Ok the food was Basic but there was nothing wrong with it if you didn’t like it you could get something else.
The pools were both open but Malta bargains said the indoor pool was heated actually heating doesn’t go on till 1st December. If you go to the hotel before then use another hotels pool!
Malta bargain also states there are 5 bars when in fact there are only 3. There are no snacks available in between meal times only local crisps.
Overall the hotel was a good place to stay it’s a 5min walk from the main bus station, most bars and restaurants are open in the area but only one nightclub.
The nightlife is in St Julian’s, a taxi is about 4.5lm the clubs are open till late morning if you wanted to save on taxis it is easy to find a club that’s open till around 7am so you can catch a bus back.
The hotel is too old and way...

The hotel is too old and way past its sell by date. The staff are friendly though and the hotel is hygienic and clean, with clean towels every day and rooms were spotless every day. The food was typical British food but still enjoyed it. You only get what you pay and it was a good cheap holiday. The pool was very hygienic and clean but getting old. I don't know why some people are complaining it may be a bit on the old side but its still an enjoyable hotel.
My overall conclusion is that it should be polished up a little, but I think its an enjoyable stay. The staff are friendly, the food was good and my stay was pleasant . So I will be going back next year!
