I was in the same family group as Bill white, my only comment if any is maybe the place needs a lick of paint here and there, as my brother inlaw has already stated for £300 for two weeks all inclusive you would have to be insane to expect a 5 star hotel, all the people complaining should think how much it would cost in a 5 star hotel compared to the palmcourt, staff cleaned the sunbeds both weeks, and they also put cleaning salts in the pool,i have never seen that done in any hotels i have stayed in before, and as to the food and service we recieved i am very fussy with food but i found no problem with the food and the service was excellent, the staff were very helpful and proffessional at all times,
I WOULD DEFINATELY STAY THERE AGAIN

Went on holiday for two weeks on the 7th april 2008 and read all the complaints prior to going so it was with some trepidation that I arrived. So first the down side. There was a faint whiff about the hotel when we went upstairs to the second floor and the lifts were a bit iffy. Our four bed room was fine, no smell no cockroaches but the other room our family had, smelt badly and they did see one. The T.V. only really provided two watchable channels in english, sky news and channel four One of the beds was very hard but was replaced immediatly on our request and another bedside cabinet was also provided. On the plus side, the food I found to be fine, plainish but lots of it and well prepared (the spare ribs were very good). The staff were very helpful and cheerful and tried hard to make our stay pleasant. The rooms were cleaned every day and we also had clean towells every day and the sheets were changed regularly. All the drinks were free fromm 11am to 11pm and I wondered how they were able to provide this level of service and under £300.00 for two weeks including the air fare and make a profit. If you go to this hotel and expect the Radisson you're going to be disappointed but only an idiot would expect that at these sort of prices wouldn't they. there were 9 in our party ranging from 26-79 and we were all more than happy and we all would have no problen in going again or recommending it to someone looking for a base to plan their holiday as we did.

Firstly we arrived, the attitude of the staff was disgraceful, we were served warm beer, there were plastic tablecloths on the tables, the food was horrendous paired with the tremendous heat in the dining room. There were fag butts put out on the stairs and the place hadnt been vacuumed for months!!! when we finally got to our room, i did actually heave!! everywhere was dirty and when i pulled back the sheets thinking it couldnt get any worse, a big long black hair was waiting on my pillow. the beds had obviously not been changed since the last residents had stayed. we knew then what we were doing first thing in the mornin was gettin the hell out of there!!!! Please take my advice and never stay here, the place should be closed down.

Me and my partner wen't to this hotel a couple of years ago. On arrival we were disappointed by it's appearance. we had a great time. The room was basic but clean, clean towels daily, sheets twice a week. Ok the reception area is a bit discusting and gives you the feeling of panic. But all in all it was a cheap holiday and I think it was great value for what we paid' the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was not at all bad. I'm very fussy about what I eat and there was always something I could manage. We met some great people and had a laugh especially about the hotel. the country is beautiful. and yes I would go back it's a cheap and cheerful holiday it is what you make it .

my wife and i enjoyed it, rooms are very basic. the food was good, always something for all. can't understand the moans and groans of the the residents. they know the background of the place but still go to complain. i knew exactly what i was in for, and at £200 half board for 14 nights ican rough it anywhere. thats including return flights and transfers, and meals in flight both ways.
just a quick point i would like to make if they put the letter "s"between the"o" and the "t" and made it palm court hostel i'm sure that there would'nt be no complaints. hotel it certainly is'nt 4 star hostel it could well be. we have no complaints. we would do the same trip again.

hi,
disgusting place. its not even a 1* hotel. it seemed like a old people's home. it smelt like diarrohoea. there were spider web and coachroaches in the room. . beds were broken. you could feel the spring sticking out. bed sheets and blankets were worn out. very bad place. . tour operator should stop selling the holidays.disgusting. staff were not professional at all. we complained, they didn't do nothing. . they just changed our room . it was worse than the one we had before.smelly ,dirty place. i would n't recommend to anyone to go and stay there. don't waste your money.

So things haven't changed then. We went to the Palm Court for 2 weeks in July 1995 and it stunk. There was no air conditioning and it was so hot. The bedding, which was supposed to be clean was full of the previous guests sweat marks. You had such a variety of food to choose from eg pasta or cabbage every night. The toaster set on fire while everyone had breakfast, the lift broke and 2 people were trapped in it and one young boy broke his arm. How this place is still in the brochures and being advertised is beyond me. Anyone going there in the future should be fully vaccinated otherwise you are likely to get a disease either inside or out. No wonder they call it Fawlty Towers.

The money you pay for this holiday reflects what u get, if you want a luxery holiday then pay the price. We paid £175 each and thought it was a great holiday, we didnt go to sit our room all holiday thats why we paid the price we did. We eat out some days to vary the routine, but the food was edible and always varied.
We didnt use the pools because they didnt look the nicest but the nice beaches were a short and cheap bus ride away so we prefered to go there.
We have been to nicer hotels but we paid the price for it, we wanted a cheap get away and thats what we got. Do not be put off by the negative reviews, a holiday is what you make it. Malta is a amazing place and thats what you go on holiday for, to see the country. The beachs are beautiful.
We felt we had to write a good review because of how many people have written bad reviews, a holiday is what you make it and we would go to malta again and definately to this hotel. :-)

This hotel was TERRIBLE! We were put in a room next to 2 vending machines - which were used all night - on the main corridor to the restaurant. Very noisy. The air conditioning machine leaked water whenever it was on so we had to swelter all night and when I asked to be moved to another room, I was refused. I spent all my time asking for this and, on the third day, my wish was granted. The food was edible - just - but of very poor quality. The entertainment was boring so this hotel made my holiday one to forget.

I booked a week's holiday at the Palm Court Hotel after my younger brother and some of his boys stayed there for a week in July. He came back raving about the hotel, how it was clean, how the food was great and how brilliant his holiday was. I was looking to book a long over-due holiday and didn't have a lot of money to do so. So I looked at the Malta bargains Website and this hotel seemed too good to be true. 3 swimming pools 5 bars etc etc. I thought WOW all this for £160 per person. So I booked for my boyfriend and me to spend a week there. Now it was not only my first time travelling without my family but it was also going to be My partner's and my first holiday together. I spent weeks preparing for this holiday getting everything perfected. We flew out from London Gatwick on Monday 24th Sept and the flight there was great. The food wasn't brilliant and drink prices were high but the crew were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. When arriving at the hotel I felt a little disheartened as it wasn't what i had envisioned. The internet most definately painted it out to be something it wasn't. But i thought that everything would be OK. When we finally checked at around 6pm my boyfriend and I made our way through the tiny smelly narrow hallways to our room. At this point i started having bad feelings. When we arrived at our room we opened the door to find 5 SINGLE BEDS! not the one double bed i had booked. The lights in the bathroom didn't work and the paint work throughout the hotel was damaged and the place smelt of urine, vomit and strong overpowering bleach. so when we went down to dinner we stopped at reception and they immediately said come back tomorrow morning by 9am and we will change it for you. So feeling a bit happier we went down to find the restaurant. suddenly the smell hit us it was the smell of school dinners it smelt rank but my boyfriend was really hungry so he loaded his plate while i had nothing needless to say he had one mouthful and pushed the rest away. So we ventured out and found a little pizza place just round the corner and had a slice of pizza. I dreaded going back to the hotel and I'm not ashamed to admit that on a number of occasions over the holiday i was in floods of tears. I nearly even phoned home and asked my parents to book us return flights and this was on the first night. we lay in bed that night my boyfriend consoling me as this holiday was hell.
The next morning as promised reception staff changed our room and it was still not up to a satisfactory level but we accepted it as it was what we had ordered a double bed with a shower the bathroom was a disgrace there was cockroaches and ants infesting out room. Again we complained and no action was taken my boyfriend even took pictures. We both came down with dicky tummies but that couldn't be blamed on the hotel as we didn't eat OR drink from the hotel. We lived on pizza, doritos and coke. we used the hotel as a place to sleep and then spent our days out. The worst of the whole holiday was when the roof over our toilet began to leak and dripped all over us whilst using the toilet. We immediately informed reception and they said they cannot do nothing til morning. The whole experience in this hotel was appalling and i can honestly say i will never ever stay there again. Its a shame because Malta is such a beautiful island and hotels like Palm Court give it such a bad reputation.
Please something needs to be done about this appalling hotel the maid who cleaned our room was lovely but the receptionist well she was unbearably rude to me and was all smiles to my partner. I hated this hotel but tried hard to make sure that it didn't ruin my views of Malta. Hopefully i shall be returning this year but will be staying at the 4 star Club Salina Wharf which is absolute paradise compare to that DIVE. Please everyone i urge you to not go there the place needs demolishing.

Bassic and nasty. No heating in rooms. Ended up in Malta hospital with pneumonia, on Oxygen and Intra venous antibiotics for many days. Dreadful holiday. I love Malta and the people are very friendly and work hard, but this hotel needs serious reviews.
