Palm Court Hotel, Qawra
Hotel Class:

The Palm court Hotel, St Pauls, Malta is situated in the heart of Malta's most popular resort, Qawra (St. Paul's Bay). The hotel is a mere 150 yards away from Qawra beach and only two minutes away from public transport. The Palm Court Hotel is well known for its exceptionally good value for money, and that is why many guests return year after year.

My Visit to Malta was with 2 other adults, my cousin (15) and myself (16). We were expecting the worst from this hotel after reading the reviews. The only fault we had was the corridors were a little bit dingy but you don’t spend your holiday in the corridors so it’s nothing major.
Cats do roam around but this is everywhere in Malta not just The Palm Court Hotel. Food was Good, Entertainment was good, and rooms were very good. A holiday is what you want to make it, you get what you pay for and I think this was good value for money. I would go again one day!!

I read lots of holiday reviews about the palm court hotel and I didn’t really believe they were true as there was so many. Turns out though they are all true. I arrived at the hotel and was dreading it as I had just seen its sister hotel Reuben court. I looked at the front of the building and I could tell this holiday was going to be interesting. I walked in and uugh it was disgusting.
The restaurant is the worst part of the hotel. It stinks like rotten school dinners and the food is inedible. If you are going to the hotel I will warn you not to eat there if you do take diaoreah tablets with you. As we all got bad stomachs. The beef strogonough looked like diaoreah and the bbq at lunch what can I say last nights dinner.
The swimming pool isn’t murky but you can’t get a sun bed to save your life unless you get up at 7.00 even earlier otherwise your sitting on the dirty wall with all the old cigarette butts and the mangy cats running about.
You might think I am being stuck up and a bit unreal but it is like a survival camp. I know it is not a 5* hotel but it isn’t even a 2* hotel. If you are going soon to this hotel AVOID the restaurant. There is a restaurant just down the road 5 minutes walk that is lovely and very friendly. There is a lovely pizza place too. Don’t worry if you are going there. We survived a week there.
I wouldn’t go back to the palm court hotel but I would definitely go back to Malta. It is a lovely country and the Maltese people are really friendly. If you are going there I recommend the blue lagoon.

We were a party of 8 people 4 adults and 4 children who always go on holiday together to all inclusive hotels, mostly in majorca and have always had a great deal, this time we thought we would have a change of scenery so we went to Malta and the Palm Court Hotel, very bad descision.
This hotel is disgusting, the breakfast was a heart attack on a plate, practically raw bacon either that or burnt to a crisp, rubber fried eggs and the scrambled eggs were like slop yuk, so we had breakfast out for the rest of the holiday.
The evening meals were ok but very bland with a fair choice of hot and cold meals but very little choice of desserts ice cream and dry cake seemed to be the only thing they served, so again we ate out most of the time.
The worst thing by far is the swimming pool it's appalling you cannot see 2" in front of you in the water as it is so murky, the area around the pool is filthy and the steps leading up to the terrace are ceramic tiled., very slippery and very dangerous but you have to use them as that leads to all the rooms and reception, needless to say we went to the beach or found a nice seafront swimming pool at silima.
This is such a bad hotel it is unfit for human beings, such a shame really as the maltese people are lovely but it put me off ever going to the island again.

The Palm Court is a complete disgrace. Needs closing down.
Dangerous, smelly and vile.
No safety or health standards.
Your holiday may be cheap but it's not worth it. Give this place a miss.
Read the other reviews - they are all true.

We stayed at the palm court hotel in Qawra Malta. All I can say is urrgh. The restaurant was a disgrace the smell was like rotten school dinners even worse. We ate there two days got funny tummies so ate out. Our room was barely acceptable only two of the beds had headboards. The shower was awful we all wore flip flops. The swimming pool was very nice and very big it had a shallow and deep end. There was no air conditioning available in the rooms and there were also no safe in our room and the safe room was full up. I wouldn't stay there again. Malta itself is a very nice country there some wonderful beaches and restaurants.
This is a place I went to about...

This is a place I went to about 10 years ago, and it doesn’t seem to have changed a bit! Avoid anything in the restaurant that isn’t ice cream or chips (and the chips don’t exactly come as recommended). Thankfully I turned my nose up at the hotel food (try the pizza place round the corner, The Little Waster), but the rest of my family were sick on more than one occasion from the food, as was most of the hotel! At least it was memorable...
Don’t let this put you off all of Malta though, its a lovely place with lovely people. Take a bus ride on a boneshaker to Valetta, it’s a lovely city. Watch out for the customs/security officials at the airport though, they’re a lot more stringent than what the rest of the world is used to!
Palm Court only receives a 3/10 because of its location though!

I arrived early hours on a Sunday morning with a party of 15 and every one of us was disgusted at what we found. The foul smell and stains on the carpets should have been a sign of things to come. Two males were expected to share a bed that to be frank was not fit for a dog to sleep on. The room stank, the fan on the ceiling was hanging off with the wiring all exposed and the air con was switched off. When we asked about switching the air con on we were told that it was switched off for the winter. The bath room looked like something out of Alcatraz, the beds were damp, every thing smelt of damp, and a soiled mattress was found dumped in a corridor.
After a sleepless night some of us ventured down to what could only be described as a very poor works canteen with food to match. We were lucky we were moved to another hotel which fully deserved its rating of four stars. Every one we spoke to that week were either moved to another hotel or had to stay in the palm court said the same, it's a dump that should be closed down. I have given this hotel an overall rating of one but that is far too generous.
