A very tired and unwelcoming hotel, definatley not three star more like two star.
following points you need to take into account when booking are as follows.
Carpets filthy.
Dimly lit hallways.
Paint flakeing of the walls and ceilings
Hotel is like a rabbit warren with all the passageways.
Room never cleaned
Airconditioning dripped water all night, ceiling fan did not work.
Food very basic and not very apertizing,Staff had to be asked to clean tables so we could sit down.
Reception staff not helpfull at all.
I have never known a hotel where they make you pay for your drinks at the receiption before collecting from the bar and then only one drink at a time.
THINK OF FAWLTY TOWERS AND YOU WILL HAVE AN IDEA OF THIS PINK MONSTER

I booked a holiday to treat my step-daughter for her 21st birthday and made it clear to the tour operator that we were not to sleep in the same room, as we didn't think it appropriate. I went to Malta on the understanding that I was going to a two bedroom apartment but to my dismay, I found we had just one small bedroom with two single beds pushed very closely together. I enquired of the rep what they would do to remedy the situation and the only solution I was given was to pay an extra 12 Euro's a night for another room. I felt that I shouldn't have to pay any extra for a mistake that wasn't mine so I ended up staying every night with a cousin living in St.Paul's Bay and returning to Palm Court every day for my all inclusive.
As if this wasn't bad enough, the all inclusive meals were so bad that we went out of the hotel for most meals. Most dishes were unrecognisable, unlabelled and unediable. To obtain drinks or snacks, we first had to go to reception to order what we wanted. The receptionist then swiped our hotel card and gave us a reciept to take to the bar. This is fair enough for your fist visit, but this process had to be repeated every time you wanted to order a drink, and you could only order one drink per person at any one time. This even applied to drinks of water, which were usually given in small, sealed bottles , but after 11:00pm I was given a glass of warm water that had obviously come from the tap.
The only good thing I can tell you about this hotel is, as my step-daughter told me, the maids came into the room every day to clean. I know there are many bad hotel reviews given by people booking cheap all inclusive deals and expecting the earth. However, I didn't expect the earth but I did expect a bit of help and understanding regarding the room and to be able to recognisethe food being served in the restaurant.
I may as well have gone camping in my campervan!

Very adequate. You get what you pay for, and this is very good value for money, and you must be prepared to accept that this is as good as it gets for what you pay. The staff are reasonable and generally very helpful and polite. The food is very adequate. The main draw-back is that the corridors are in need of repair. Excellent value as a base to tour Malta. A nice country.

Having read reviews of the hotel before we departed, we went with no great expectations, just wanting lots of sun , a clean room and bed and really thats what we got........for the all-in price you can't complain !However, something that costs nothing is customer service, the staff on the whole were rude sullen and unhelpful. I did eventually ask a receptionist if she didn't like working in the hotel because she was always so miserable looking!
As long as you don't visit malta thinking the locals will be warm and welcoming then you won.t be dissapointed.
Maybe the management don't care but the responsibility lies with them, from my intial booking to departure i thought they were 50 years behind in customer services.
SUNSHINE ON THE CHEAP is the best description.........readers you have been warned !!!! :)

Well my recollections and photos form the stay at Palm Court (http://flickr.com/photos/mike_tickle/sets/72157607139739315/) are a world apart form the official photos at http://www.maltabargains.com/vtour/index.htm
Having read a lot of bad things about PC I was relieved to walk in to a clean reception. After getting the keys it all started to go down hill. Our room was hot and damp and the in room safe was out of action. The air conditioning did not work nor did the fan. Breakfast was worse than school dinner cooking, stuck int he basement with slippy floors and again no working air con.
We managed to get rooms swapped for one with air con and a fan which was a releif.
I was not expecting much but this fell short of those low expectations. The accomodation was not up to the standards of bunk room I have stayed in here in the UK.
To top it all off most of the staff are unhelpful, and some are just plain rude. The pool area was smelly and the dinks system is odd. You go to reception to pay for your drink (where there is normally a long queue of people complaining) and then the queue at the bar to get the drink.
Yes it was cheap (but no where near as cheap as the web page suggested) but it was not a place I would go to again.

well, for £855 for a week we would have expected a bit more of a welcome, we arrived at 1 am and were greeted by a man who just wanted to get back to reading his paper, we were somewhat shocked by the smell of damp as as we entered through the door, when we found our room we found a dark smelly pit with 3 single beds that was meant to constitute a *family room* it looked as though a camp bed had just been shoved in for good measure, the lock on the door left a alot to be desired, the room felt damp but i dont suppose it helpt being right above the laundry room, which had machines running all night so it made it a little hard to breathe due to the heavy air of condensation, breakfast is a real treat, its a mass scramble to find a table, and when you have its que for breakfast then que for tea then que for toast, all the time your breakfast is getting colder, there is no system in the room, one morning the beans were cold, when the staff were told they just laughed, oh yes very funny, im sure they had a hot breakfast, we felt so upset by this place, my family stayed in the santana for a quater of the cost and a fantastic standard of food and service a better hotel altogether, the website does not reflect the actual state of the hotel and is serious breach of trading standards, condemn the place its for the best, upon leaving we found out that the hotel is shutting in october for a refurb, so why on earth were we allowed to stay there in the first place, malta bargains you should be ashamed of yourself

Had doubts about this hotel as it was so cheap and after reading other comments was a bit worried. Our room was spacious (4 adults sharing). Was clean and everything worked although the cleaner didn't do a brilliant job whilst we were there. Food is very much focused towards the British (Chips and pizza featured most days). There was a decent range so most people would be able to find something to eat. Woudn't recommend staying on an all inclusive basis as we heard that it takes forever to get your drinks. Did hear complaints about other rooms most days so I guess we struck it lucky. I hear it is due to be refurbished Oct '09 which is needed as the paint is peeling and the air con in reception leaks water. Overall you get what you pay for but as iour room was clean we were happy.

This is with out doubt the worst hotel we have ever had the misfortune to book into!!!!! The place is filthy and the first room allocated to us was DAMP which we were amazed at as it smelt more like a hovel from a Catherine Cookson novel instead a "Five star standard" hotel minutes from the mediterrean sea. After complaining we were given a total of six other rooms which varied in standard from awful to just plain unhabitable! I could go on but i have an extremely long letter of complaint to write to the orgainsers of this shambolic "holiday!" On a final note their audacity should almost be admired because they have just put their prices up!(probably as a result of having to financially compensate so many disgruntled customers).

Been a Zimbabwean i've seen it all but my dear friends this hotel was something else. I'll give it to you from the top in all honesty. Number 1: The flight there on air Malta was cool but when u get out of customs control look out for a gentleman who will be holding a small paper writen "Palm Court" waiting at arrivals to take u to the hotel. Malta bargains dont tell u this. We found ourselfs looking for this dude for abt 30mins. Number 2; Enter the reception area, its not as bad as most people say and any damp smell is from the people coming from the beach with their wet clothes etc. We were a group of four. The two of us got a bit of a decent room where as our other party had to change their rooms abt three times until they got a bit of a decent room. All the rooms are of low standard in my opinion, the corridors are dirty and u get some funny smells from time to time which i think is from blocked up sewage drains. Our other parties room door to the balcony came off when we tried to open it. We fixed it for them though and didnt want to change the room again as we were afraid to get something worse off.
Number 3; The food was the worst. We ate there the once only then dined out every other night, average bill for four at some very nice restaurants was like 50Euro, thats for main meal and drinks so lots of money went on food. Just the smell of the food alone could make your stomach turn. My friends, keep in mind that i am from Zimbabwe.
Number 4: Be wary of leaving your keys at reception as they have a funny system that i do not trust. People leave their keys and when u get back u just shout out your room number and the keys are given to you?!?!?! A couple had their bags & 700Euro stolen from their room whilst sleeping.
Conclusion: The hotel is not a place to go to as a couple or with a women cos i dont think a lady deserves that. If its a bunch of guys just goin to kick it then its ok, just pay board only, sort your own grub out and u should be fine. The hotel staff are cool. If u are not happy with your room moan until they put you in a reasonable spot. I gave it a 4 rating because of the nice staff other than that my friends avoid "faulty towers" as best as u can.

We booked our holiday and then we read these reviews, we were scared to death of going to this hotel , even tried to cancel our holiday , we arrived there at 3am in the morning ,and shown to our room , it was on the third floor, and i was supprised that it was clean , i saw 2 cockroaches out side the hotel but none init ,and that was all the time i was there , the staff do egnore you a lot of the time but i guess its just the wingeing people they do that to because they were fine with us , even haveing a laugh and joke .........some of these people as we found out work 13 hour shifts one girl was always there , i saw these people arrive in the morning at 6.30 and was still there late at night .....the staff are fine in this hotel and it annoys me to think how much abuse these people take ............the food was edible , it was basic but lets face it you get what you pay for .....exspect the worse and like me you might just be supprised , its somewhere to put your head at night ...all i can tell you was we were on the third floor and had a great holiday....

Please don't go here. This is the worst hotel we have ever been to. The whole hotel, swimming pool and pool areas are very dirty and smell terrible, like someone has died. The food is inedible, and food and general hygiene is way below any acceptable standards. Nothing works and everything leaks, toilets, showers, air conditioning, taps, drinks and vending machines. We didn't expect to share our room with cockroaches, cats, lizards, rodents. Loads of people were ill and those who had paid for all inclusive refused to eat and drink here! The staff were rude and not helpful or friendly at all. My toilet is leaking, what do you want me to do about it? Some staff were young teenagers! When there was a small fire and the fire alarm was pressed, there was no response, it was totally ignored. Need I say anything else? Don't be tempted like us, it's very cheap for a reason, save your money and stay at home, you'll have a better time picking up dog muck off the streets and eating your Grandad's toenails!

Before I say anything, can I say that Malta is an amazing and beautiful place and I would recommned Malta to anyone. However as far as our accommodation is concerned I can say the following. Basic should not mean "FILTHY". I would not even touch the walls in the bathroom of our hotel and I would not let my towel touch the floor. Nor would I touch the front door to the entrance to the Hotel. I have never had a problem with basic accommodation, especially when paying a basic price. However there must be standards that have to be met as far as health, cleanliness and hygiene go, and the Palm Court Hovel has no standards at all. We only ate 2 breakfasts at the hovel, as the chairs were so dirty, I wouldn't even lean my back against them. The eating area was dirty, dark and dingy. Some of the breakfast food was unidentifyable. Our room was never swept or the toilet cleaned, and we had a plant growing out of the shower wall just above the plywood that was used as a part of the shower wall. That was just over the hole in the shower cubicle floor that the cockroach came in through. (This I witnessed with my own eyes). Easily the worst Hotel I have ever seen in my 40 years. The staff were appalling and on the 2 occassions we did approach them, they neither provided nor offered any help at all. The Palm Court is very well situation however, as it is only a 5 min walk to the bus station and a 10-15 min walk to Bugibba and the coastal promenade. However the fact that the Hovel was so appalling, it did not change the fact that we had a fantastic holiday. Malta is such a beautiful place with so much to see and do. We are not the kind of people who spend their holiday in their hotel, so this is why we could put up with the Palm Court, however I would never recommend the hotel to my worst enemy.

First things first - it needs a refurb, first impressions are awful.
If it's your first time here the corridors and rooms are scrufftastic and it is abit shocking.
(all this is excellent for people watching as they arrive to check in - some of the faces pulled were priceless!)
However, the air-con worked, toilet flushed, shower worked, we had clean towels and the bed made everyday.
The pool area is cleaned everynight.
The food is fine, we never had a dodgy stomach and variety is good enough to have something different most nights.
I would recommend is that you try not to drink in the hotel at night. No real entertainment and queuing at reception to get a receipt to then go to the bar and queue again is a total pain.
There are plenty of other bars within a 2 minute walk from the hotel. We5 and Franks Bar are excellent for nights out.
Cheap and cheerful is the phrase used for this place, if you want flawless paintwork and fancy wall tiling try paying abit more than 300quid for a two week holiday in August!
Personally, I'm looking forward to faulty towers again next year.
