Asur Hotel

Located right in between all the sites of the old city. Short walk to Topkapi, Aya Sophia, Blue mosqe and Bazars. Easy acsess to transportation across Galata bridge or ferrys. Nice, clean rooms. Helpful staff. The breakfast was dissapointing without much choice or variation between days.

Couple from Portugal - We stayed a week in Hotel Asur and really enjoyed it. Rooms are small but confortable and very clean. Breakfast was acceptable. Good choice in Istanbul and great location in the heart of the city

I stayed one night in Hotel Asur and found it clean and comfortable. Although this is not a luxury hotel, it is perfectly adequate and has a great location for sightseeing, close to the major sights yet tucked away from busy roads on a side street. Staff were friendly and pleasant, and there's a decent bar. Breakfast (buffet style) was very good with a wide range of food on offer. The Orsep was the selected hotel for our small group tour of Turkey by Fez Travel. The overall tour was a great value and wonderful experience, but the LOW POINT of all the overnight choices was the ORSEP. The breakfast was only acceptable and there was no view from anywhere in the hotel we experienced (room or dining area). Too many smoke in the public areas and the dining area and there is NO SEPARATION for non-smokers. We stayed at the Orsep Hotel for 2 days before our tour started. The hotel is in a great location for the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar and a number of other tourist attractions. It is very close to the tramway, which takes you down to the Bosphorus, or the othe way back up the hill towards the Grand Bazaar and Blue Mosque. I stayed at the Istanbul Orsep Hotel as part of a tour package. I was there for four nights. I also ate all my meals at the hotel for four days. I found the three star Istanbul Orsep to be slightly below average. One thing I liked at this hotel was the location. I had read in another review on this site that the hotel was located in a "bombed out run down area" This is not true. We stayed at the Orsep at the beginning and end of our turkey tour. The first room was extremely small - really small - almost no room for our bags. The bathroom was fine with good hot water. The breakfast was just OK but could be enhanced with some fresh fruit and variety of eggs rather than just boiled. We found the reception staff not very helpful which was a little frustrating at times. The hotel is in a great location and easy walking distance to some of the major attractions of Istanbul. Comfortable, very clean rooms with great bathroom facilities. Not much sound proofing, so luck of the draw with regards to neighbours! Safe was promised when booking, but not available for the whole week of our stay-a bit worrying when in a city. Very central location for historical sights and fantastic cheap restaurants nearby- try the Et Ish. Book via the hotel for free transfers as the 50 dollars charged for a return journey is available privately from the same taxi firm that they use for 8 dollars!!! I stayed here at the beginning and again at the end of a circle tour of Turkey in March and April of 2006. My room was very comfortable and quiet and had all the amenities expected of a good yet affordable hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is terrific, a short distance from the walls of Topkapi Palace and within walking distance of Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and in the opposite direction, the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Market and the bridge across the Golden Horn to modern Istanbul and Taksim Square.
