Litera Relax Resort Gumbet

just got back from a week at the litera relax gumbet it was really lovely we didnt arrive till 4.30am a bit shattered but never the less greeted by lovely staff a very swift check in. my 9 year old son didnt sleep couldnt wait to get in the pool. after reading other reviews expected to pay a 30 lira deposit but this was not the case. as for the air conditioning it is £25 but yes you can fiddle it as we soon found out but unfortunatley ours was faulty but was quickly fixed our room was on the ground floor and had all new fixtures and new... more

Just got back on the 8th july 2008, this hotel is a 3 star but i would not even give it a 2 star. hotel room was small and under the busy bar, tried to change but got no joy with reception. food was crap and the bar was very dirty and so was the glasses u were supossed to drink out of. complained to rep and they just fob u off. staff were really unfriendly so i cannot understand why other people gave good reviews they must not have been at same hotel or they must be on powerful prescription drugs. i beg u please please do not go to the... more

arrived swiftly from airport and easy check in at hotel, and thats about it!!!!. this is not a four star hotel it is just about a 2 star and thats being generous.food is ok if you like luke warm soup ect. Just got back from this hotel today and had a lovely week. The staff are land our room was huge as was our bathroom. I would say this hotel was a 3/3+ star but we got a cheap late deal so was well worth it. The air con n safety deposit box are 40pounds or 88lira for a week which is a bit expensive. We booked with Gold Trail via an online travel agent. We were here 23-30 June. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 1 and 7 from South Wales. Spent a week at the Litera Gumbet Relax from the 9th of June. The room was good and you could put your air con on to manual and avoid paying the £25 fee. I am afraid that's all I can say on the good side of things as the rest was all of a very poor standard. The food was very poor and you rarely seen meat. Arrived at the hotel, got checked in straight away, room was clean and spacious with a oversized shower. Admittedly there are a few stairs to contend with but this is the only down point to the hotel, food is typically turkish, salads and so on, main choice was either chicken, meat balls or beef but i never got ill from it so thats a bonus to me, they also cook outside fresh for you if you dont want whats on offer inside. I will start with the positives. Our room was spacious and the bathroom more than acceptable. It was impecably serviced by the maid service. My only gripe about the room is that the balcony directly looked on someone elses balcony but as you spend little time in your room I could live with this for a week. My partner and I stayed here the first week of June. First impressions were very positive! I've booked with Goldtrail before and not had the best experiences (all over 4 years ago) and the reviews of the Hotel Simba (as it was previously called) didn't seem too positive. Bit nervous about going as some reports of this hotel were less than favourable, however we needn't have worried. The hotel has gone through a complete refurbishment, some things were still being worked on i.e the fitness room and hairdressers, but the rest of the hotel is finished and tastefully done.
