Our holiday to Turkey was fantastic. The Alba Hotel was terrific for our family - the hard working staff not only attend to your every need ,but supply added fun and entertainment. Our room and the hotel was spotless!!! Food was good, but caters very much to the 'British' menu - apart from the traditional Turkish breakfast which is an excellent buffet where you help yourself to juice, eggs, cheese, olives, cucumber, tomatoes, melon, bread, butter, honey, jam and tea/coffee. I can honestly say my stay at the Alba hotel was the worst ever. on night one we were told the company we d booked with were not a company they worked with, as a result we had to wait from 4am untill 11 am to get our room, after a 8 hours journey this was a nightmare !!! It came to light after soon after speaking to other people this had happened to over travellers due to them over booking !!!! after being delayed for 8hrs,a bad start to our holiday. when we got to hotel there was no rooms for us and 4 other guests .6hrs later we were given a room that some other guest was moved from ,later to learn they had an-other week to go and were to move to a staff room across the road, the manager was very very rude,said he could,int speak english but he did,the rooms were very basic, toilet was not clean you had to sit with one foot in shower when on the loo,when using shower water went everywhere,breakfast was... more

I am a 24 year old woman who is has come through student life and is used to staying in the pits when it comes to general accommodation and holiday destinations. However this hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in- for several reasons. 1. When we arrived, we didn’t get our room until the day after at 1pm, even though we had paid for it. great little hotel with clean rooms and fantastic staff. If you like the poolside life then you are well catered for or like me you can head to the beach which is a 10 minute stroll away. Food at the hotel was great and they kept the bar open till the last person went to bed although they do cut the music down so it doent keep other guests awake. some people complained about being kept waiting hours to be checked into their rooms but we had no such problems. well not sure where to start but here goes! Id never been to turkey so i was surprised at the length of time it actually takes from leaving your home to arriving at the hotel, manchester to hotel 14 & half hrs. It was quicker going to mexico! It takes about one and half hrs to get from dalaman airport to hotel, with a stop at a cafe inbetween. I really wanted to like this hotel after the reviews i had read about it being under new management and had undergone some refurbishment, but i didn't!! When we arrived at 6.30pm after a very long journey from Glasgow and our room wasn't ready, with check out being 12 noon our rooms should have been ready for us. Throughout the week we heard about 5 times people who arrived and their room wasn't ready, one couple arrived at 8am and was told her room would be ready at midnight!!!! What a fantastic Birthday week i've just had at the Hotel Alba, Marmaris!!! All the staff were so helpful, polite, fun and entertaining - i couldn't believe my luck in getting into this fantastic little hotel on a last minute booking. Just returned from the ALBA HOTEL if your thinking of going go its a really nice hotel.It has been newly refurbished for this seaon. Found staff to be really friendly and helpful owner lovely if you get to know him doesnt speak a lot of english . Hotel is very clean,bedrooms basic but everything you need and really clean. This was a really cheap deal to a 2 star hotel and i had my doubts as i only booked the day before traveling. especially when i learned that it had previously been known as the Unver Hotel and had a nightmare reputation!
