I went to Magaluf in July 2007 with my girlfriends and we won’t forget it! It was all we wanted!
We went all inclusive and that’s the best option for party goers, we drank all week and was well worth the price we paid for the holiday.
The staff at the hotel are really friendly and willing to help with anything.
Entertainment in the evening is a real laugh. Everyone gets involved and was awesome!
The only fault with this hotel is the food, not much choice. Us girls lived on chips and bread rolls all week; the only good thing about that is we shifted a few pounds. Although Tom Browns in the town is a must for the food, serving lush breakfasts and full English roast on a Sunday - both great for curing the hangovers!
The nightlife in Magaluf is truly immense; BCM is wicked 25 euros to get in but all drinks are free when you get in and you get free BCM merchandise.
I really cannot wait to go back next year with the girls again. Will be stopping in this hotel again as the all inclusive deal was good with all the alcohol.

Jul 2007, Mr J Hayden

Myself and 9 friends stayed at the Don Manolo July 2007 and it was unbelievable.
Easily the Best holiday I have ever had.
The location was brilliant as it was only a short walk to the beach, shops and the Magaluf strip but most of all it was in a peaceful area with not many other hotels within 100 yards. This was brilliant at night as the noise from the Magaluf strip could not be heard.
The only issue we had was the repetition of food. Everything else from the rooms to the pool was fantastic and the drink selection was awesome.
We are truly devastated this year as the hotel is fully booked up throughout July. The Don Manolo was definitely our first choice hotel, it’s much better than the other 3 hotels I’ve stayed at in Magaluf.

Jun 2007, Miss M Doherty

Before I went to Magaluf I read some of the comments on the hotel and thought it was going to be the holiday from hell.
Now I think could this have been the same hotel I went to that people are talking about?
Fair enough the food isn't exactly the best but what do you expect for an average 3 *.
The rooms were cleaned daily and I couldn't have asked for a better location!
The famous Pirates is basically at the door, Pubs and clubs is a 2 minute walk and a 5 min walk to Aqualand (keeps even the big kid happy!) and the beach is 2 mins also.
The other good thing about this is that where the hotel is situated it is quiet and no noise of bar music etc, so if you did want the quiet night in you could also nip down stairs for the hotel entertainment, which every night and through the day was the kids disco for half an hour - an hour and mini kids club, other nights included bingo and entertainment shows.
Sunbeds- there are loads but b down b4 10am or you may not get one. The safe is worth purchasing, I didn't know anyone that had anything stolen, but for safety I would.
This hotel would probably be the best if you were taking kids as it is a quieter area and has 2 security guards at the desk every night.
Wheel chair access is ok, there are ramps and lifts, but you can wait forever on the lifts!
Staff were helpful also; I would definitely go back to Don Manolo and recommend it!

Oct 2006, Miss L Thickett

We've just got back from an all inclusive week at the Don Manolo and there is nothing I can think of too complain about. The rooms are basic but very clean, the staff are friendly and the food is very good...there is loads of choice plus all the drink you could want.
The location is perfect....close to the beach, shops and nightlife but far enough to have some peace and quiet. The famous pirate show is right outside the front door which is definitely worth a visit!
Overall, we have had a great holiday and would certainly go back to Don Manolo!

Sep 2006, Miss S Scott

This hotel was definately a 3* and no more!! Food was not very nice and extremeley repetative and re-used!!
We had a clinique foundation and white shirt stolen from our room on the last day. We spoke to a couple who had 85 euro's stolen and also 2 lads had 50 euro's stolen.
I have been going on regular holiday's since 1990 and have never experienced such rude staff!! They just don't like the English!! There was 2 exceptions though - a young lad who was on the reception night shift who was lovely - what a nice guy! Also a blonde lady working in the pool bar during the day was very nice and polite, but the rest just had such a tude!!
Magaluf it-self was brilliant we went down to the strip then to BCM's every night 20euro's entry with Al drinks till 6am - FAB! Also went to watch pirate's un-cut - well worth it! And went to the Western waterpark which was brilliant the yellow slide is a must but in actual fact the orange one is more scary.
Anyway would definately go to Magaluf again just maybe not to Don Manolo, i believe it is getting a major revamp ready for next season - GOOD LUCK is what i say!!! x

Sep 2006, Miss H George

I have never thought about writing a review on this hotel since I went in October last year, but as I stumbled across others on the web, I thought I would.
I am writing to agree with the people that think it is terrible. Yes, my room was 'cleaned' everyday but we always had sheets with stains on, it is not modern at all, so I don't know where people are getting that from. The colours of decorations don't match at all and the whole place looks dreary and drab.
The bathroom was also dirty and I too had yellow gunky stuff slop out of my taps and shower head before water actually came out of it. It was enough to make you sick.
The food there looked disgusting and tasted disgusting. All of the labels above the trays of food were in Spanish so I didn't know what anything was. I was confused when I found out that the brown blobs floating in green water were actually 'burgers'. One of the chefs even came out to change the food one day and blatantly picked her nose in front of everyone in the dining room - disgusting.
I cannot comment on the night time entertainment at the hotel as I went out every night. All I can say is if you like staying in dirty places, sleeping on dirty sheets, washing in orange gunk and eating stuff that doesn't even look like food, then this is definately the place for you!
Otherwise, do not do it! You will honestly regret it.

Just returned from all inclusive in...

Aug 2006, Mr D M Ellison

Just returned from all inclusive in Hotel Don Manolo Magaluf. If you are in a large group of young people and want to stay awake all night shouting and screaming at the top of your voice whilst running around the hotel aimlessly, then this is the place for you.
If you like basic food, and very small basic rooms with no Air Con and 70’s decor and furnishings then this is the place for you. If you want good service you have to be Spanish as staff there quite clearly don’t like the English.
The only reason we have given this a three is because it was really sunny and hot and you did not have to wait long to be served with alcohol. I believe they are going to demolish this hotel and rebuild it. The sooner the better is what I say!

Aug 2006, Mr J Dodd

The majority of staff at this hotel are the rudest I have ever come across We went to reception and asked for more towels and the receptionist said you English you always complain.
The swimming pool was not cleaned the whole week we was there and it was so dirty in the bottom could quite clearly be seen also around the pool was very dirty cups lying everywhere
Every time we went to turn the bath on it come out with this yellow horrible stuff!
When it came to eating I couldn’t bare it, we went all inclusive and we ate in there twice for food wasn't cooked and looked very unpleasant. Every night we went down to have a look it was the same for lunch and dinner and still can’t believe people have said it was nice!!!
We went into a few other hotels to have a look and there where so much better, especially the entertainment.
I’m 18 and went with 6 of my mates and we all thought it was terrible!!

Aug 2006, Miss C Lian

As a woman with a husband and a 13 year old child, reading reviews I was more than worried about staying here, but my husband had been with his best mate and tried to assure me, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The kids entertainment during the day kept my daughter occupied all day, from Mini Golf to Bowls to local games, she was always doing something new. Kudos to the entertainers/reps namely Gerrardo, Raffa and others, they were fun and always helping out.
There is also a small arcade there with a pool table towards the back of where the entertainment is at night, to the left. There was also internet access which the staff showed us how to operate.
The TV room to the side isn't really helpful, as the kids couldn't reach the controls although our daughter spent a lot of time in there watching the Simpson’s (In Spanish, inconvenient if you don't speak it).
The food is adequate for the money you pay, it was always cooked, although variety was low. They did have an Italian and Mexican themed foods some nights, which was great for us, and customary chips for our daughter. The service was good too, they were always approaching the table to refill our drinks.
The noise was bearable, yes, it was Hen and Stag-do central, but they usual came back at a late hour and quietly enough for us not to hear them. The receptionist often shouted at them to keep them quiet for us, which was nice of her. So much so, we pretty much slept right through no complaints.
I also suggest going to the pirate show over the road, great night out.
Yes, this is not a family orientated hotel, but you can still have fun as a family.

I'm going to disagree with the people who have said this hotel is not for families but for the younger ones. This is definitely for families.
I have just come back from staying there for 1 week with my family who had a smashing time. All entertainment was good. My 6 year old daughter enjoyed the mini club and kids disco, and night entertainment was good.
Plenty of choice for meals with as much wine as you like. The rooms are big enough which were cleaned everyday and beds were made everyday.
I would definitely take my family there again.

First time for me and my family at this hotel. Food was good, plenty of choice, as much wine as you wanted with your meal. Kids ate when they wanted which was good.
Rooms were cleaned and beds were made everyday. Staff were friendly. My 6 year old enjoyed the mini club and kids disco. Night entertainment very good. Nights were noisy which spoilt the holiday a little, but the hotel doesn't tolerate bad and abusive behaviour as they kicked out 40 hotel guests a week before we arrived. I would definitely stay there again.

Aug 2006, Miss Ash N Von Johnstone N Robertson

Firstly...when we got there the staff could barely talk English. After about ten minutes we got our keys, we went to the room and opened the door....at first we thought it was a joke and that the real room was round the corner.
It was soooo small that we had to push the two beds together, which isn't ideal when you bring people back (if you know what we mean). We tried opening the window because their was no air conditioning, and it fell off...literally.
Their was a good variety in food, also for vegetarians as one of us are. Drink was great obviously because it was free anyway.
Other than that the rooms were cleaned every day. The broken window was fixed the next day once we reported it. The bar staff were fantastic, except for two. Hose, Jesus and Joseph were great, good laugh and friendly.
We can’t complain about the noise because we were part of it. Falling into our rooms at half seven in the morning. Overall, the hotel was ok, but they should give their staff an English lesson, as most of the holiday makers are British.
Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families or older persons as it is more for younger people 18-30, unless your a party animal.
