Kadir's Tree Houses

I have not stayed at Kadir but always wanted to take a trip up there, having worked in the travel tour business previously. (Hence no time ha ha!) I am writing to let you know that there was a Fire at end of 2006 at Kadirs as I read in the local newspaper. Most of his tree houses were destroyed. What springs to mind in this day and age is was this a wealthy land owner who wants to develop the land into something else? Novelty accommodation. But, there are more bungalows than tree houses. Tree houses have no bathrooms, and the public bathroons are... bad. No tree houses, and only a few bungalows have aircon. Very basic inside. The common areas do not have aircon either. In fact, there was no where in this village that had aircon. In August, the temperature is over 40 deg everyday, and its humid. Its miserable as there is nowhere to escape to. There only one bank machine in the village - in a truck that comes in for summer only... more

If it wasn't for the interesting people that I met here then my stay would have been a complete let down. The bed linen looked as if it hasnt been washed in a month of Sundays and I just felt as if I constantly needed to wash the grime off me. This was impossible as there was never any hot water available. The food was the most disgusting slop I have ever seen served in the whole of Turkey. The night life was non existent....whereas if you read their website it says that parties continue all night...etc, etc.... It appears... more

I could stay 2 nights in the tree houses but I am really disappointed. You can never find hot water in the evening coming from the beach. There is a weak justification that "showers are overloaded".. C'mon! The rooms are not clean at all. The bed sheets and towels are grey and worn out. The carpet's color is unidentifiable from dirt and stains. There is always a bed-bug in the room (they should do fumigation). What they serve as dinner tastes like the ones in university mensa. They keep the food real real cheap and tasteless... more
