Portobello Apartments

stayed here may 06 was a nightmare then pole dancers in the afternoon evening entertament doing sex acts on each other this was staff,dirty rooms,noisy music from 7am until 02.00 and later always went out never stayed on complex, we went with tomsons and they have since pulled out of this hotel.love marmaris though.

Went with all the family had a fantastic time, Made friends with boss and bar staff. every time went got treated like royalty even got offered a job of the boss. would recommend to everyone!

We just come back from marmaris the a/c they want to charge 58 gp for 2 weeks x2 116 because it has two ac in each room two bed room we had 2 apartment family off 8 £232 and on first day in one room the a/c did not work for two days we kept phoning yes 5 min then it come to next day in the eving to fix it we ask for a refund for two days which we did nt use they said they will pay but they did nt on last day 8 p0unds so we have send them emil when will get paid ther is no tv it says every room with tv every time when a quest checks in they go to there room is not cleaned from last quest we had same when we checked in all rubbish still no beds done we ask for pool view they puts on ground floor and saying you ask for ground floor they lost are comfmation letter it sayed pool view on it then next day we got moved to 4 th floor they say hot water 24 hrs no every time want for shower cold water not happy at all oniy 56 rooms are open other still closed 56 .the key slot were every things work from this was not safe it was lose it moved when you put the key in

i don't know how anybody could doubt Portobello
it is most definitely a great holiday complex
all of the staff are polite and helping food served till late
brilliant for all ages !
no doubt about it would i go again
its close to everything you need
never no problems when staying here

it was the worst hoiday ive ever had!
we went for two weeks mid august 2009 had 3 hot showers out of 14, pool was minging, electric was off more than it was on staff and managment were rude and they only knew 3 english words sterling,pound and no!!!

During our stay, which was for one week it went in really quick. We enjoyed staying here as it was great for all ages and the chutes were a bonus. All of the barmen and staff were great and really friendly, seen as were coming back next year for three weeks we hope that all of the same staff and barmen are there especially Jimmy/Apo, Mahmet,Emin Tan the Hairdresser and Elmas/Jaymeal. So hopefully we will all them again when we come back! Andi,Louise and Leonie xx

We stayed at the portobello in july 2009. On our arrival there was not enough bedding for four people which at the time was our only complaint as our apartment was in e block it was clean with two balconies facing big fingers restaurant on one side and happy brothers on the other.We asked at reception for the extra bedding which was a bit hard as they didnt seem to understand us very well,we were meeting family so they said someone would put it in our room which they did while we were out, that's when things turned bad as we later discovered our mobile phone had been taken we reported it to the desk who were not very helpful and we are still waiting to see the manager to this day we were fobbed off each time we asked to see him. Having the phone taken was bad enough but when I saw the cleaner to ask for clean towels she showed me her keys explaining she had no key for our room so i spent a lot of time cleaning it myself or waiting in for the cleaner to be let in which i must say she did come in when asked and gave me towels when asked.I think it's a real shame as the lads around the poolside during the day are really friendly and good with the kids,they do come round a lot to ask if you want drinks but just remember they do work on commision basis and work long hours. Ozzy who works in the happy brothers bar is a good laugh and tries to help in anyway he can as do most of the staff. All i can say is it's a great shame thatsome members of staff are ruining what would otherwise be a really great place to stay at very reasonable prices. The food is very nice,the pools are great for the kids and apart from having no cleaner i had no complaints about the room. I hope the management sort out the problems with thieving as I would love to return to the portobello to see Ozzy.Jo-JO,Steve and all the other lads in the bars.

we arrived in marmaris at 5.00am in the morning with 2 grankids age 9/10 got dropped off at hotel mustis only to find out that when the rep had dropped us off and dissapeared there was no room for us . after being back in touch with the rep and being moved round marmaris and 4 hotels later we arrived at club portobello at 10.00am we finally finished up with a room in f block 48 steps up to room the room was dirty and the put up bed had blood on it was in filthy condition the outside balcony had a 6ft solid wall so no views we never unpacked and next day after much complaining got moved to d block this was a bit of an improvement we did have a balcony but the view was a big storage tank which we found out at a few times in the night and early hours was for the noiseist generator in marmaris the electric was off as often as it was on this meant that there was no water pump to pump water round the block for washing and showering or flushing the toilet and this had to happen on the day we were coming home so we could not use facillities in room at all.on the plus side the pools were great for the kids and the slides. only problem with these was no supervision in the pools or slides a few children did get hurt at bottom of slides with them being too close to each other . plenty of sunbeds round pools. the main pool had no filtration for afew days so water did get a bit dirty we heard of a few reports of break ins so definately adviseable to get s/deposit box shops just out side and across the road cheaper than hotel

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Club Portebello and have to say it was great. I was really wary about some of the bad reviews written about the place and was admittedly a bit apprehensive but all these worries disappeared when we were shown to our rooms. We were situated in E block and the room consisted of a shower/toilet, double bedrom and main living area with 2 sofas that pushed together and this made my daughters bed. There was also a blacony overlooking the pool. The rooms were fit for purpose, cleaned regularly and to a decent standard. The complex itself was great. 3 swimming pools with the slides proving to be popular and the majority of our day was spent by the pool such was the heat throughout the day. The lads who work the bars throughout the day are attentive and are always about offering drinks etc and some people found this annoying but you have to remember that this is their job and a polite "no thanks" is all that is required. You are always made to feel welcome and can have a good laugh with the workers and they do work hard and long hours. During the evening entertainment is always on at the Happy Brothers bar. Whilst we were there a snake show, belly dancers, breakdancers.....in fact loads of stuff to keep all ages amused. The kids are encouraged to get up and participate in the dancing either as a group or up on the bar. Prices for a Efes was 4tl (about £2) but the likes of coke and lemonade for the kids were more expensive. (Tip....during the day for soft drinks for the kids go to the Supermaket 4x1ltr cokes for 3.95tl :o))The Turkish bath on site was not up to much nor was the Turkish shave. I would advise to go to the barbers off site for the shave and you will never have a better shave in your life!!! The best one I found cost 10tl (£4) and was brilliant. To get to the barbers come out of the complex and and turn right and take the very first right. Walk down the road past the play area and turn right and the barbers is there. The supermarket is at the end of this road also and this little shortcut can knock 10 minutes of your journey into the main part of the resort.
In all we had a great time at the Portebello. A great place for the kids though the pool was approx 5' deep all around so supervision will be required. Food on site was good and reasonably priced so were the drinks, entertainment was great and varied. Rooms were fit for purpose and cleaned regularly. Complex was clean and safe and staff were attentive and polite.
The Portebello comes highly recommended by us so much so we are booking again for next year.

i have been back from my holiday for two weeks now, i can say all these reviews well i dont agree with, club portabello is a great hotel. its great for all ages as there three pools and slides internet cafe four bars which serve food till late hair dressers and a 24 hour supermarket your also 5 mins away from the beach and both waterpark. Rooms very tidy. i have no faults for portabello its the one of the best hotels i have ever stopped in. i loved it that much i have booked up for next year.
