Tansel Beach Hotel

the food at the tansel hotel was so bad that me and my wife preferred to eat outside. the hotel is also located far from bodrum the city... housekeeping was real bad - they didn't change towels or sheets on our stay there (3 nights...) we didn't get even extra soap, shampoo or toilet paper - only what was in the room when we got there (which lasted only 2 days or so...) but as i wrote - the worst part was the food - it was all inclusive but for lunch i only ate bread and cheese and water as the food was really bad...

We turned up at our hotel and there was a problem with the rooms, because our holiday company who we booked with had passed on the wrong details, so we were told to go off and come back in 30 mins. We were then given 2 rooms that were great for myself, husband and 3 children that were located next to the pool. The food was outstanding every day. We couldn't complain, but when we took our daughter to have her hair braided at the hairdressers on site she nearly collapsed with heat exhaustion as there was no air conditioning. i spent in Tansel hotel 2 lovely weeks must say! however service at reception was the worst i ever had! why?....hygiene of staff. it's hot there and wearing fresh shirt and using deodorant could be helpful to survive guests at the desk. We got nice room with the view on garden and Kos island. housekeeping service was good. We loved the food and can't complain about drinks at the bar:-)

We booked in ,were given our wristbands,told our room was being cleaned and it would be available in 30 mins, after this time we were told there was no room for us as they were over booked, other people were still booking in and were being allocated rooms. We were sent to their sister hotel the Violin also 4* according to reception. It was filthy,had to change rooms as 1st one was too dirty to even sit in let alone sleep in. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that there were no rooms available for us and that we were to go to another hotel apparently their sister hotel The Violin Hotel until our rooms became available. The Violin hotel was dirty, the rooms were big but aircon never worked and the pool area clean but no activites, no indoor swimming pool and only local drinks available were gin, vodka and beer. I feel that this hotel does not deserve a four star rating. Although the complex itself is nice, people should be aware of the dangers and the food. There is a tiny children's splash pool, but the large pool is very deep. Myself at nearly 5'8", could only stand in the shallow end on tip toes and head extended backwards. the walk back to the sunbeds is very slippy, whilst there I saw so many people slip on the ground myself included. The area is beautiful and I would go there again. The hotel well thats a different story. Never a four star hotel. Poor service and food to match. Here is part of the letter I sent to Kosmar. Pool Bar :Served warm drinks from plastic bottles. Even beer 99% of the time. Something that you would not expect from any rating hotel. Some of the nice points of this place are very much obscured by extremely unprofessional management. 1. Laundry service: beware of prices - for laundry to be washed and ironed you pay separare prices. That means for two avereage sized laundry bags the bill for us was 180Euro. Two pieces came back damaged with the bleaching agent. The only response after triple round of negotiations was a discount of 60% on the loundry bill as a compensation for the damage done. Let's start with the positive. it is clean. It has direct access to a beach (although it is not a private beach). The staff is for the most part nice and friendly. The room was a decent size and they give you a place to dry your swimsuits. For an all-inclusive resort the price was reasonable (if you can find it cheaper than $120 for a triple). We do not usually stay at the package deal hotels. But in May 2006 we and three friends stayed 5 days at the Tansel Beach Hotel near Turgetreis. We got nice spacious rooms with private bathrooms, good maid service, 3 meals a day plus snacks, complimentary bar drinks, pool, beach and sauna and Turkish bath all for only $70USD a day for a double. Wow.
