THIS HOLIDAY WAS WICKED, we stayed here in sept 2007, our room was very nice and clean and we had the biggest balcony EVER! must have been at least 20 by 20 foot, ha ha, was perfect for sunbathing on very hungover days, location was good quiet but right near all the clubs and only a short stroll to bar street and the beach, bar street is the longest strip of bars and clubs iv ever seen took the whole night to get down, plenty of 24 hour bars around, and i we were very looked after by two ladies who worked in the rio dinner, almost like having your mum there to make your full english breakfast every morning to cure your hangover before hitting the beach, we must have gone there about twice everyday cuz it was so cheap and friendly. will be going again soon!!!

My main holiday every year is a long haul, but since my first visit to Kardamena in 2000 I have made sure I have at least 1 week in Kardamena and that is purely because of the KP. The whole family (Papa/Stelios, Mama/Dyonisia/Denise, Peter, Sarah, Stergos/Super, (as in Super Mario), and their kids, Mike, Anna, Caroline, Heleni, Alexandra, and of course Stephanie) have become good friends and at least 1 of them have come to the UK to visit every year since.
I'm 43 and have read a lot of rubbish about Kardamena being a young person's holiday destination. There is something for everybody, I've been 7 times and I've never been in a night-club, there are some lovely quiet bars, I'm not sure if he'll thank me for it, but Bambis's is a huge favourite for me, a table under a tree, no music, watch the world go by, and if you make the effort to just try a little Greek you'll be overwhelmed by the response. I realise I'm fortunate because I go there with Stergos, therefore I'm accepted without question, but I've seen English people come to the bar and it has been totally down to their behaviour as to how well they get treated.
Back to the KP apartments. Yes, they are basic, but they're clean. Unless you're paying big bucks at a top hotel, that's all you ask for. Personally I've never had any problems there, however, I have heared some complaints whilst at the pool and you can be assured Peter has sorted it POST HASTE.
The food at the KP is reasonably priced, and although not quite restaurant quality, it's more than acceptable. (You may be lucky and be there at the same time as me, when Denise makes a fish soup with my catch. Then we're talking top notch)
I know they won't mind me recommending alternative eateries, as it's more of an evening thing. If you like fish, and by that I mean, you like, and know how it should be cooked, then you must visit Aktio/Akteo. It doesn't look much (seriously) but as I said, if you like fish, then you MUST visit here. It's about 50yrds past Posidonia (where you will get the best Meze Ragi on the island) There are many, if not every restaurant that look nicer, but for the freshest fish, and veg(they grow all their own) Akteo is the best. Yes you will pay a bit more, but not much, and it's well worth it. Andreas and Avli are also very good. Ask Mama about Big Mike's. Give them a day, and you can tell them what you want.
Overall, I now know the best places to eat and drink, and I know this because of the Psiris/Avgustine family who own the pool. They are genuinely lovely people.

As a family we have visited the Kool Pool at least half a dozen times, would highly recommend the Pool and Apartments to both families and singletons alike.
Stelios, Peter, Laura, Mamma and all the staff make you feel part of their family. The Kool Pool BBQ is a definite must offering all night entertainment with excellent food. The pool is immaculately kept - the water is checked every day frequently.
Once you have visited the Kool Pool and this beautiful island you WILL return again.
As an ex-travel agent - I booked so many people to these apartments and they returned time and time again as you can't get better hospitality. We will return again in June 08 and can't wait!

We have stayed at the Libra bit of the Kool Pool Apartments for the last 2 years and can only say the place is brilliant. The family who run this bit are very nice and friendly, even down to Miss Jackson [the puppy]. The rooms are cleaned daily, apart from Sunday and despite being so near to Starlight Club there is not much noise to be heard. Close enough to the centre of the resort and all the action and far enough away to be relaxing.

WOW!! The Kool Pool is an amazing place to stay - best and busiest pool area in Kardamena, everyone has heard about it and everyone knows it. Pete and his family are lovely people and cannot do enough for you. The atmosphere at this complex is enough to make me go back again next year - it was great.
The apartments are of a good size and well equipped. The decor is a bit shabby in places and perhaps could do with a bit of a revamp but for Greece it was more than adequate. The apartments are cleaned every day and towels and bedding changed regularly. You do have to get your own toilet roll though!!
The apartments are across the road from the pool area which is bustling in the day with plenty of space for everyone. Stelios keeps the sunbeds plentiful and clean, Pete provides the entertainment whilst Mama cooks her great snacks. You really do feel like part of the family. The pool is huge and the patio area spacious and the bar allows you to keep the drinks flowing - ask Pete for a ''Spank me Baby'' to keep you cool throughout the hot days!!
The weekly Kool Pool bbq/party night is a must and a really good laugh with great food and laughter. It is a chance to get to know your neighbours and join in the fun.
We went to Kardamena at the end of September which is a great time for couples or families to visit. Unfortunately a lot of the clubs had closed the week before we arrived but there was plenty of bars, restaurants and karaoke haunts to choose from. Unfortunately arriving this late in the season, many of the excursions had finished but the beach is great and the weather generally fab!! The Greek people are so friendly and helpful that they make your holiday. Hiring a quad or buggy is a must if you like to get out and explore the mountains etc, just be careful of the drivers - some of them are nutters. In the height of the summer though, this resort and the accommodation is buzzing, although they do not take any messing!
I would also recommend a night at Bliss Bar in the square, at least for a few drinks and a Wii sports competition before hitting the nightlife. Kostas and Jasmine are both really lovely people and up for a good laugh so say hi from me.
I am a travel agent and have recommended this property to many customers. I tell people not to expect luxury from a basic Greek apartment as you only get what you pay for but the Kool Pool provided everything we wanted. I hope to visit again soon!

I have to agree with the majority of the reviews above. Kool Pool was a great place to stay. Stelios and Peter were great hosts and make everyone extremely welcome. I have been to Kos twice and both times I have stayed here and I have never had any problems.
Kardamena is a great destination and I certainly will be going back. See you all in 2008! Recommend it to all!

Me and my boyfriend went on 29th Sept for 1 week to Kool Pool Apartments after reading comments on this site I was a bit worried what to expect and it was our first time to Greece.
After arriving early hours in the morning we were both tired and very miserable but after seeing Peter welcoming us we soon felt settled.
We loved our apartment from the beginning right to the end, the staff were helpful and the centre was great, right in the heart of Kardamena great. We were only there for 1 week but I have already booked to go again on the 20th Sept 2008 for 2 weeks and I cant wait.
So see you all at Kool Pool next Sept.

4 adults 2 kids - Arrived at Kos airport to be greeted by Libra Rep, informing us that our accomodation that we previously booked wasn't available and we were placed into KoolPool. We were seething as this was the 2nd time Libra had cancelled our "booked and paid for" accomodation.
On arrival at KoolPool we were given 2 rooms next to each other on the 1st floor. Our balconies faced North and towards scrub-land and unfinished roads. There was an unfinished building opposite and tethered goats around the area. The rooms were basic, damaged furniture and wardrobes. Ceiling light had exposed wiring taped together. An open electrical fuse box, a constantly filling toilet that overflowed. Our rep informed us that we if we came to the greet and meet at 6pm that day she would see if our "booked" accomodation would be available in a few days time. We never went as out flight into Kos was a 6am departure from the UK and we'd been up all the previous day so we missed the greet and meet. I know from experience that these are just company promo's so we never missed much. We never saw the rep again or even knew where their office was located???

We stayed (Myself and husband to be) in Peters Kool Pool Studios and Apartments, a great welcome as we arrived. A helpful family set up, Peter and his family were more than helpful and the whole holiday flowed and was absolutely seamless.
Situated in an ideal location, in the middle of Kardamena it allows effortless travel to and from the beach, the town and attractions.
The Kool Pool will be our next stop for our next holiday (hopefully later on this year or next) It was our first visit and we will without a doubt be visiting again!
We have been told that Peters Kool Pool Studios and Apartments have a website and given an address and we will be signing the guest book shortly!

Had the most amazing holiday. The resort was clean and tidy, family run and they where lovely! There were just 2 of us and felt very welcome and safe.
The food was really cheap and nice. They had a bbq at kool pool and it was the best night great food and a real laugh.
The resort is in a perfect location, nightlife was amazing. Recommend Bliss Bar and Expose Bar.
I would recommend this resort to any 1, and can’t wait to go back in September.

It is such amazing stay at the Kool Pool, there was 18 of us derby lads most hotels would treat us like rubbish but at Kool Pool every one is treated so nice and with so much respect. We stayed by the Kool Pool every day and drank with peter and his family after. he's a top guy.

Reading the reviews was a bit of a worry but we both (24) found the stay pleasant, enjoyable with friendly family staff and great service.
Expecting the worst, really we were quite surprised to find everything ran smoothly, other guests were also friendly.
Day's out, times by the pool, an absolutely great time was had, a week there, not one complaint. Excellent.

Just got back from our holiday, and absolutely loved it there.
Would jump at the chance to go back!
The apartments were pretty basic, but what we paid for. The maid came in and cleaned practically every day. The kitchen was very large and we had two balconies to chill on.
The only problem we had was that we had one towel between two of us, but it was sorted out when we told them and we got a new one straight away.
The pool is great, Peter and Stelios and all the staff really make you feel welcome and your able to have great fun with them.
We went to the BBQ on a Monday which is all you can eat for 10 euros plus karaoke, which had a wonderful atmosphere and the food was lovely.
Kardemea itself was amazing, bar street is the place to be. The music goes off at 12 but you've got clubs to go to after that. Would recommend down town for some cheesy music, status is a great club and the foam party at starlight is a must!
Me and my 3 friends all had the best holiday ever, and would love to go back next year. The staff are welcoming and the facilities are all good too.

Only saving grace was Peter (owners son) an absolute gentleman.
Kardamina and indeed the rest of the island was great. Never came across a dirty toilet or bar/restaurant. Would definately go back to Kos but NEVER Kool Pool.
Advice: It was lovely. Locals were lovely people and always polite and helpful.
