Kool Pool Studios & Apartments

Kool Pool is excellent. Great location, a few mins from the main square.
Family run with a lovely friendly atmosphere ~ Stelios the owner and Peter (stelios's Son) manages the Kool pool they are always keen for a natter.
Very nice food at the pool bar.
Apartments were basic but just what we needed for a girlie holiday.
We generally felt safe and everyone was very friendly.
Great for meeting up with our friends round the pool that were staying at another hotel.
A must is the BBQ on Mondays - All you can eat!

We visited the Kool Pool in Kardamena on the 12th May 07 for 7 nights.
There was a party of 13 of us, ages 76, 56, 55, 43, 40, 38, 31, (3, 16year olds), 12, 10 and 7 year old.
This is a great family run hotel, Stelios is the dad, and helps around the pool, peter is the son, he works behind the bar and serves food, and the mother and friends help do the cooking.
I work in a travel agent, and have done for the past 16 years and never felt as welcome in any apartment.
The Kool pool is approximately 5 minutes from the centre and has a fantastic pool area; we really did enjoy our stay. We went with Kosmar and their apartments are better than Libra’s accommodation, even though we didn’t cook there, all we wanted was clean bed sheets and a shower, which we got.
The apartments could get quite noisy but when we addressed this at reception, peter had a word with the people and warned them should it happen again then they are out.
The apartments are situated just 5 minutes away from the centre, where there are rows of bars and restaurants. If you want to party as well then (bar street) is the ideal place for all young ones, plenty of bars, great music, more for club 18-3's, also the starlight nightclub that opens till 6am is just a stroll away from the Kool pool.
We enjoyed going to the bliss bar after a lovely meal on the sea front and there it catered for all of us, they had a 70-80's night and even my grandma at 76 was dancing. There were plenty of shops, supermarkets, even a McDonalds.
This place was fantastic and I would definitely go back, for the price we paid.

Our holiday was great! Me and my friend went for 2 weeks, best two weeks of my life easy! Kardamena has amazing nightlife, never really seen the day time to be honest, ha-ha.
Apartments were basic, but so what I didn't pay 5 star hotel prices, didn't really expect much.
People are saying they only got one towel for two weeks, yeah its true, however you can buy a towel from the local shop, which there is loads of, for 3 Euro=£1.50. So instead of twisting about it and spoiling your holiday, buy one!
The apartments were cleaned everyday; some of my money disappeared everyday as well like, think they must have took a tip! Never mind, what a few Euros are for the best holiday of my life.
Just re-book for July again, this time 3 weeks, can’t wait.
If you’re a person that wants a laugh and to party from 7pm till 6am this place is right for you!
By the way, you are supposed to keep the noise down after 12am, no one does so be as noisy and free as you want!

Us 3 girls have just booked up for the Kool Pool to go this July and can't wait! It's been 2 years since we were last at Kardamena and the Kool Pool and thought it was about time for us to have another visit!
The apartments are basic at Kool Pool , but everything that you need if you are a group of just young girls/boys wanting a good time! The Kool Pool is the place to be during the day with Stelios and Peter and just the great atmosphere!
I would recommend the Kool Pool and Kardamena to anyone who is up for a good time, getting drunk and loads of sun!

Me and my mate (both 22) stayed in the kool pool apartments in the last 2 weeks of July this year. When we first got to our room we we're pretty impressed for Greece to be honest, there was just 2 of us in an apartment which was clean. The kitchen was pretty big, the bathroom was tiny, but normal for Greece really.
The main downside of the apartment was that in 2 weeks the bed linen and towels only got changed ONCE! We though that this was absolutely appalling. We had 3 cockroaches in our apartment during the course of our stay and the maid would not clean them up off the floor, they were just left all disgusting for us to look at. The bathroom was probably only cleaned about 3 times in the 2 weeks as well. For 2 girls getting ready every night to go out there was make-up everywhere and this never got a wipe over.
The maid was more concerned with tidying the room than cleaning it. Another downside is that you get 2 toilet rolls at the start of your stay and that’s it, you have to buy any more that you need from the supermarket.
On the upside, days round the pool were fantastic. Stelios, Peter, Costas and Yannis kept us entertained constantly. Stelios owns the complex and is really friendly and Peter (his son) is behind the pool bar and is also a good laugh. The pool was really clean and the food at the bar was amazing! Yannis works on the bar at the back of the pool and was always good for a giggle.
We stayed for 2 weeks, went out every night but 3. On the nights that we weren't out drinking we could not believe how noisy the apartments were! If you get loud lary idiots shouting at 5 in the morning, just report it to Peter behind the bar and he has a word!
Chris, Ian, Alan and Rich from Mad, Jam bar and the stone roses bar were also at the pool everyday entertaining everybody. We has a mass bomb and a mass belly flop which was pretty hilarious.

Nights out in Kardamena were fab. Be prepared for Yannis in the Stone roses, attacks you with ice-cubes constantly! Stone roses was a good place to go, good music and no bloody PR's stood outside.

We usually started the nights in Memories were you got pint cocktails for $5 which were lethal! Crossroads at the end of Bar Street was also really good, the bar staff are mental and the slush cocktails were gorgeous. Music was really good if you're not into the indie vibe of jam and stone roses.
Mad Club was fantastic, really good atmosphere and loads of boys. Played oasis, artic monkeys, libertines etc.
Went to the foam party in Starlight which was a fab night, the best foam party I've ever been to. Only problem was the boys are like dogs on heat cos there’s so much flesh on show!
If you do go into the centre where the foam comes from, I was totally covered, nearly drowned!
We loved Down Town! Were in there nearly every night, good to go to before Mad when the music goes off at 12. If you like your cheesy tunes then Down Town is the best place to go!
All in all I thought Kardamena was a fantastic place for our holiday this year. The people we met were fab and the nightlife was awesome. The Kool Pool was a great place to stay, only downside was the maid service. I have to say the days with all the staff round the pool definitely made up for it!

A lot of my friends had read the reviews of the Kool Pool before we left, so to be honest I was prepared for the worst but when I arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised with both the staff and our rooms.
Waking up the next morning fairly late lead me to worry about not being able to get a sun bed, especially as a group of 15, however there were plenty. The staff around the pool were amazingly accommodating and very friendly. The food and drink at the pool was also really nice and reasonably priced.
The cooking facilities at the apartments were basic but with a stretch of restaurants a 5 minute walk away, again very cheap, this was not necessary for us. Kardamena was perfect for our group, with plenty of bars and clubs and because it was so close we could pick and choose what we wanted to do.
Overall, the holiday was amazing, and I am definitely planning on going back there. However I would say that it is not a place to go with a family.

Myself and my partner went to the Kool Pool in June for two weeks. Had a lovely time there Stelios and his family were very friendly and down to earth and the pool and bathing area was very clean. However our room was not up to standards really.
It was overrun with ants when we first arrived. The floor hadn't been swept because there were black long hairs etc. all over. The kitchen area was also quite dirty. Cleaner did come in every day but all she did really was empty the bins and fold the bed sheet. The other big downside was the noise. This was every night during our second week from 1am until sometimes 6am.
I reported this to Peter (the manager) and he acted straight away and warned them hey would be evicted if it carried on. I think the noise is bad because the reception is only open until 8pm so after that people did what they wanted. It did carry on until we came home so we were really tired. I wouldn’t recommend the Kool Pool for families as there were none there when we were there it was just full of groups of lads and girls.
Lovely place though, would go back.

I read the reports that other holiday makers had made before departing and thought that they had just had a bad holiday, until I arrived at the apartments about 06.00 in the morning to find that they hadn’t been cleaned and the linen hadn’t been changed.
Arriving at this time in the morning all we wanted to do was have a couple of hours sleep. We didn’t unpack our cases and waited to see the rep. We tried contacting the rep on the number given to us, but to no avail, so called to the office to be told that their was nothing they could do until we had seen our rep at our welcome meeting at 13.30. We ended up walking around the resort for the next seven hours.
At the welcome meeting we spoke to the rep who was welcoming and friendly. She informed us that as soon as the meeting was over she would sort our problems out for us. We stayed out of the apartment till about 17.00 that day thinking that they would have been cleaned only to find that they hadn’t. We tried to contact the rep but she wasn’t there, in the end we ended up cleaning the apartment yourself. We tried to see the rep a few times over the next week but she had disappeared, so please make sure you don’t need to rely on your rep for anything as this could become a problem.
We weren’t told at the welcome meeting anything other then what trips they had to offer. I have always stayed in self catering accommodation but have never had to provide my own toilet roll or clean my own apartment.
During our two week stay the bed linen was changed once and we had to ask for clean town.
They was one up side to the apartments the pool was clean and the staff were friendly.
Over all I was very disappointed with the standard of the apartments and would think twice about travelling with Libra Holidays again.

Rooms not as bad as we were expecting them to be after reading other reports, although there was no towel/linen change the whole week we were there.
Cooking facilities were poor - 2 ring cooker near socket that did not work but not a major problem if you are eating out every night.
We were just relieved that the place was not as bad as we were expecting it to be and we all enjoyed our stay!

Having read the reviews regarding the Kool Pool myself, my partner and another couple who had booked to go were quite worried. We had read the standards by other reviews and that was enough to put us off.
However I was more than pleasantly surprised I didn’t see a single insect, ant, mosquito (I know you get these most places) and the studio yes was very basic but it had everything in there that you would need and more importantly was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and a sweep around. Kardemena is a lively and noisy resort, in the day it is more relaxed but by night becomes a fun filled, pleasant area. At night it was noisy around the apartments and studios but as you would expect a lively resort to be.
The pool and stelios and his staff were excellent more than helpful and always happy and pleasant as are most of the Greek. The food was excellent and it is a really pleasant area and the facilities we couldn’t fault.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Kardemena and at the Kool Pool, and would definitely recommend.
