Just came back from a lovely holiday in Kardamena. We stayed at the Valinakis beach hotel which was ideal for what we wanted. It is right on the beach literally. It is run by lovely staff who are very friendly and have a good knowledge of the area and always ready to answer any questions.
The rooms are basic with a bed and a shower and are cleaned daily. If you like your cuppa in the morning then take a kettle but there are always refreshments available in the bar area.
The main drag of bars is only a 2 minute walk away but surprisingly little could be heard from the hotel. It had a mix of both young and old and is ideal for families. Nice size pool and also a small shallow pool for young children. I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived at the hotel late and saw a sign on the lift saying it was out of order so we went to take the stairs when the receptionist said the sign was only on there to save electricity and that we could use it so we got inside a pitch black lift and got up to our room ok amazingly!
After getting into the room I cried because it was not what I was expecting at all, the carpet was stained, the wooden table had writing all over it and it was very basic! There was a hole in the bathroom wall which was just a black open space and I don’t know where it led to but mosquitoes were finding their way in through it.
There was no air conditioning which I was aware of before booking but it was boiling hot at night and I would defiantly recommend taking an electric fan with you. The hotel mainly accommodated teenagers which were quite noisy coming in during early hours.
I am young myself but if your not there for a clubbing holiday it gets quite frustrating. On a positive note the breakfast was nice, and the staff are friendly. All in all I think this hotel is better suited to youngsters on a party holiday rather than a couple or family. I loved kos and everything else about my holiday but I for one will definitely not be recommending this hotel to anyone.
