The Etap hotel is the worst hotel me and my partner has ever stayed in. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL------PLEASE Not 5 star in any way!!!!! 6pm 11th Sept went to bed for a couple of hours when the telephone rings in our hotel room about 7.45pm. Really don't waste your money. This place was sold to us as a 5* but it's scraping the barrel to call it a 3*. Manager is the most incompetent, rudest person I have ever met. The first room given to us had a hole punched through the bathroom door, was absolutely filthy, the air-conditioning did not work, mini bar empty (no complimentary water as promised) view out of window was 2 storey building 20feet away(you could not see the sky from the room). where to start? beleiev me this really is not a 5 star hotel. this is the tour operators own rating so do not be fooled. it is more like a 2 star hotel. receptionist man asked us if we wanted double room (as stated on confirmation), we said yes and he laughed, handed us the room keys. we arrived to a room with no sea view and two single beds. got room changed eventually but no sea or mountain view- just that of an extractor fan and the other rooms. beach was private and okay, has romatic little open beach huts on far side of the beach... more

Well, i booked this hotel for a week at the start of september, for a much needed break with my girlfriend. We are a couple in our early 20's looking for a relaxing holiday with a bit of nightlife. We got a cheap deal, £300 for a week all inclusive so couldnt complain. THEN I read the reviews and got very worried indeed. Needless to say my girlfriend was gutted too. Stayed at this hotel in August 2007. Definitely not a 5* as rated. Rooms were cleanish but the bathrooms were not. Soap scum on taps, broken shower head, etc, etc. These problems were not corrected after being reported. Food was not good. The hotel was about 20 minutes from Bodrum centre with no other shops, restaurants or facilities nearby. Apparently hotel was taken over 12 months ago and standards have gone down hill since then. having just returned from a week at this hotel i would say that in no way was it a 5 star hotel. the room was very basic, clean and tidy, our balcony was looking into the backs of other rooms, no view at all. the food was ok nothing special. the beach was very stoney, could have done with footwear when swimming. the evening entertainment (if you could call it that) was very poor for a 5 star hotel (best to go into bodrum). the pool and pool area was very good. some of the areas need serious updating, cleaning and reparing. we found that you... more

We arrived to the hotel about 4 hours late due to a delay on our flight, as soon as we arrived we were dealt with promptly and taken to a room immediatley. However the room was not what we expected at all, "a mountain view/seaview " was what we were expecting; we got a balcony, if you can call it that, facing walls and doors to other apartments. 5 star all inclusive, more like 3 star. After arriving 3 hours late, the room was not ready, then we had to wait an additional 5 hours for the extra bed. These are the facts about this hotel.I have no idea how this hotel is still in operation. Be warned, this is not a 5 star hotel (I'd rate it 2 star if that). The bedrooms are very small (if you are a family of four with two small kids only one of the children will get a single bed, the other will be sleeping on a uncomfortable camper bed which makes the already small room even smaller). We like many others were very concerned about previous reviews, so glad that we still went. I agree don't expect a 5* but give it a chance. We didn't set our expectations too high and had an amazing time- you get what you pay for! Not only was there a fantastic pool, plus a pool with slides there was a range of other facilities and entertainment.
