Comments:  Just returned from a lovely family holiday (grandparents, adults, child) in Kardamena staying at the Cleopatra Superior. All the wonderful reviews about this hotel are true! The staff are extremely friendly, especially Stam at the pool snack bar, the hotel is very clean and rooms have everything needed. The hotel is located centrally, a very short stroll to the beach and a brief walk to the town centre, the hotel itself is set a street or so back from any pubs/bars/shops so its peaceful enough to sleep with the balcony doors open. Kardamena was breezer all the time during our stay, lovely when it was 28 degrees every day (it was may!), everyone there is so friendly, there's something for everyone and Anna's by the beach do a great breakfast! Try eating traditional - the Lamb kleftiko, the meatballs and the mousaka are gorgeous!

Comments:  Just come back yesterday after spending another two brilliant week’s B&B at this hotel. We were lucky enough to get the same room we had in May this year.

This hotel is spotless and the staff are still so friendly and helpful even after a busy season, nothing is too much trouble for them.

For a continental breakfast there is a great choice - especially as they put extra food on that doesn't come with a continental usually, at no extra charge. A mention for the cleaners, they do a tremendous job of keeping everything clean.

Towels and bed linen are changed regularly and even on a Sunday the cleaners come and make sure everything is alright in your room.

We came across a new eating place which is well worth a mention - ELLIES CARVERY - a five minute walk away from the hotel. Food was good and plentiful with excellent choices to pick from. Eat from the carvery instead of from a specially prepared dish and you will be eating within less than 10 minutes from sitting down. Very friendly staff helps make this one of the best places to eat in Kardamena.

Try Greg's Place near the harbour and enjoy a coffee with free cake and watch the world go by. Of course the Adelphia restaurant, Pavlos Bar and Angela's Bar are still well worth going to with very reasonable prices.

Keep up the good work Manos, Christina, Paula and George, we will see you next year and can't wait - please keep our room free for us!

Comments:  I have just returned from Kos and very sad to be home! I went with my dad and friend. It was the best holiday ever, the hotel is very clean and not far away from the airport which is really good!

We were in one room but it was split into two, so I and my friend basically had our own room which was brilliant!

The staff where absolutely brilliant. Stam, Gareth, Paula and Manos are great, they all go out of there way to make sure you have an enjoyable holiday!

The pool is great with loads of sunbeds so you don’t have to worry about room! The pool bar opens at 10 and serves food until 5pm which is really good if you want something to eat in the day.

The town is only about 5 minutes away from the hotel where there’s loads of shops bars and places to eat

The maid comes into your room everyday except Sunday to clean which is really good.

Overall the hotel was really nice. Thanks to all the staff for making our holiday so memorable, we will be back next year definately !

Comments:  Having read other peoples comments before going and now having returned yesterday, overall I was really impressed with the hotel, the facilities, the staff and the location.

I travelled with my 7 year old son and we booked a family room which was large. One room had the sitting room, bathroom, wardrobes, tv and 2 sofa beds (1 single, 1 double) plus a balcony and the other room had a large double bed, space for another large double bed plus another balcony. We paid extra for the air conditioning which was 55 euro's for the week opposed to the 35 euros for the smaller rooms but it was well worth it

We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but breakfast was a little basic with cereal, toast or fruit but when we were up in time it was ok. Mainly we had a snack a bit later on at the the pool bar which was very reasonable for food. Not so good for drinks though. Soft drinks were expensive and I thought excessive at 2 euros per can of Coke or Sprite. The Sprite had a maximum price on the can of 70 cents. The water you could buy locally for 30 cents and the hotel charged 80 cents. I don't mind paying a bit more but this was a little too much and many others commented the same.

The pool was good and there were usually enough sun loungers but some people did still put their towels down and leave for the majority of the day.

The bar staff were good. Stam does an excellent party trick with sunbeds and well worth asking him to show you when you are there. The alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced.

The rooms were cleaned every day except Sunday which was not a problem and were always good.

Although it is described as being on the outskirts, it is a gentle flat 10 minute walk to the harbour and it is certainly nice and peaceful at night.

I did mention this website to the manager and he does look at the comments!

Overall, I thought the hotel was very good and with some minor improvements could be excellent

I would certainly go back here if I went to Kos again

Comments:  I stayed in Kos for a week with my two daughters, age 11 and 14 and this one was of the best hotels by far in the area. My daughters loved the staff, mainly Stam as he was so friendly and helpful. There was never a rush for sunbeds as there were plenty and there was music all day. The location of the hotel was very good as the views were lovely across the coastline with the mountains in the background.

Unfortunately there was the Olive Grove fires in July and we got close up views of the helicopters carrying water from the sea to the source of the fire.

Bar 1960 was our favourite as Nick & Stam were working there. We had some nice meals choosing different restaurants; the Nemo restaurant was very good.

The only thing that spoilt my holiday really was that we were charged excess baggage coming home but not going.

Overall it was a great holiday!

Comments:  I stayed in Kos for a week with 7 of my friends and we stayed in The Cleopatra Superior.

The hotel was faultless, the staff were all extremely welcoming, especially the pool side bar staff and the rooms were a good size.
Each room had a fridge, balcony, hairdryer, TV, telephone, and in room safe deposit box.

The food at the hotels poolside bar, was that a wide selection, most of the time we were spoilt for choice.
The location of the hotel worked well for our holiday as it is within walking distance to the bars, yet far enough away to cut out the noise.

Overall the best holiday ever, defiantly deserves a 2nd visit.

Comments:  Well what can I say except myself(28) and my fiancé(27) have both just had the time of our lives on this holiday. I'm so sad to be back home.

Kardamena is a brilliant resort for all ages although I would say between July and August it's going to busy with the young and lively.

We stayed in the Cleopatra Superior B&B. The breakfast was continental meaning cereal, toast, jam , cheese, ham, peaches, biscuits, tea, coffee . But in 40 to 46 degrees heat we weren't that bothered about eating.

The staff in the hotel are all very friendly. Kirsty and Gareth the bar staff are really nice people and George the security man keeps everyone that's arriving home in the early hours quiet because the hotel has a noise policy. We got told to be quite many a time.

Our rooms was cleaned n beds made every day. We had a sea and pool view which made it more special. You have to pay for your air con, 35euros a week which was a definite must because it gets very hot.

The main area of Kardamena is only a 10 minute walk away so you’re really close to everything. The two main clubs Starlight n Status are only about 20 mins walk from hotel. We found Starlight to be the best.

The Foam Party on a Saturday Night is a must. Neva to be forgotten, the foam reaches 6 feet high. Amazing experience. If you talk to PR’s you'll get free tickets for Starlight and Status. Downtown(cheesy music) and Stone Roses(indie n rock) are also clubs they’re both free to get into. We went there before we went clubbing because all the music turns off in the bars at 12 o’clock.

For eating head to AMAZON about 9.00pm. They give you a 3 course meal and as much drinks as you can drink up until 12.00 for 20euros.(get the fishbowls). Had nice meals in Ariadni, Fu King Gou(what a name), Alexander’s and Anna's(2 mins from hotel, Stevie you're the best!!).

For drinking stay on the outskirts for cheaper drinks. Bar Street and some of the harbour front bars prices were quite dear. 5euros for vodka and coke or blue wkd. Although there’s loads of free shots and cocktail deals on bar street which is good. Visited Xpose,Toxic,Poison Apple, Bar 1960(discounts if you’re in the Cleopatra)loads of others and Crackers.

Went to Crackers about 10.30 every night until 12.00 for its banging dance tunes and amazing atmosphere. All the bar staff are so nice especially the PR girls.

If you’re interested in the excursions don't book with the reps. There's only 1 of them go on the trip unless there on the bar crawl then they're all there getting wasted. You can get them all much cheaper if you head to the Travel shops in the square.

We did the 3 island cruise, Zia by night and Bubble Beach buts there’s loads more and at good prices. Also booked with the Sponge Man (Stefanos) on the harbour front to go scuba diving. Again another unforgettable experience and at a good price.

We loved this holiday so much were going to go back again in October. Can't wait till next year.

The Greek people are the nicest people you'll ever meet. They'll go out there way to talk to you and they'll always remember you and talk to you when they see you.

The best holiday we've ever had and we've been many places.

Comments:  Yet again, another fantastic holiday staying at The Cleopatra Superior Hotel. A big thank you to Christina, Paula, George and even the manager for making this so memorable.

The room was spotless as usual with a great view of the sea. Included in the room was a fridge, TV, hairdryer. The air conditioning was extra but well worth it and will be a must at the hottest part of the summer.

Always plenty to eat at breakfast - cereal, toast, jam, marmalade, ham, cheese, biscuits, fruit cocktail, yoghurt, tea, coffee, orange juice, apple juice and raspberry juice.

Even at the beginning of the season this hotel was full - which speaks for itself. We never saw a single cockroach whatsoever in the hotel.

As for eating and drinking out - the Adelphia and Jakes were the best value for price and enormous portions of food which was always well cooked (these two restaurants were near to full every night no matter what time you went.)

As for drinks, please pay a visit to Yannis/Angelas bar which is right on the sea front.

The long drinks were 3 Euros only each and were that strong they nearly blew our heads off! Further back nearer the Cleopatra Superior hotel you will find Pavlos whose long drinks start at just 2.5 Euros each - equally as strong as Yannis!

We can't wait to go back to The Cleopatra Superior and wouldn't want to go anywhere else now.

Comments:  We have just booked next year’s holidays at this hotel again. Spent a fantastic week here in September 2006 and cannot wait to go back next May.

The hotel and staff are excellent. Everything was spotless and the staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried.

Have been coming to Kardamena for the last 8 years and this is by far the best hotel we have been in.

Comments:  Just come back from kardamena, went out their for 11 nights for my 21st birthday, and I had the best time you could ask for on holiday! Visited kos 3 years ago and stayed in not a very nice hotel, so we were a bit worried as to what this one was going to be like, but it did not let us down.

Cleopatra superior was everything you wanted in a hotel, especially for Greece! Rooms were lovely, clean, comfy beds, nothing to fault. Pool was excellent, staff were friendly, and was in perfect location, not on top of everything but only took 5 minute stroll to the middle of everything! Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to stay in kardamena! You won't be disappointed.

Comments:  This is the best hotel in or near the resort by a mile. The facilities were good, but what makes the hotel is the people. Everyone from the manager to the chamber maids were friendly and polite with excellent English.

The food in the pool bar is excellent, (and I am very fussy), they do the usual British stooge if you really want to eat that, however the Greek food, fresh salads and baguettes are superb, as is the service. The guys, Stam and Mel work very hard to make sure you get great service. Best thing about the pool or the hotel is Stam who works in the pool bar during the day and Bar 1960 in the Square in the evening. He's not just good at his job but he goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Along with his colleagues he make the place somewhere you want to spend time and go back.

Don't know how anyone could say George (on reception at night) was a bit scary, (noticed on someone else's review), he is a lovely man, a real gent. The hotel is however strict on noise late at night so perhaps that's why? The air conditioning is free if you book the hotel yourself, I notice most of the travel operators don't include it. I never made breakfast so can't comment. If you prefer the beach the busy resort beach is a 2 min walk away, best to head out of town, 500m and you are on a quite sandy beach with lovely clean, shallow water.

Comments:  The Hotel Cleopatra Superior is by far one of the best hotels in the resort of Kardamena.

The bedrooms are very clean and spacious however the air conditioning is extra, for our room it was 120 euros for 2 weeks as we had a family room.

The food at the hotel and in the resort was excellent, loads of restaurants to choose from.

If eating out, the best restaurants are The Blue Note by the Harbour and Yiannis on the street behind the harbour. Also for a good night out try Harleys/Point one on the harbour front and Bar 1960.

If feeling lively Downtown nightclub is the place to be.

The only criticism I would have is that there are so many people trying to get you into their restaurants and bars, so avoid Bar Street in the night!

All in all we have had a fab time and would definitely go back again.

Comments:  I and my boyfriend (21 and 24) stayed at the Cleopatra superior in June.

I have to say that this was the best holiday I have been on (I have been to a lot of places).

The rooms are of a superior quality for a Greek hotel...as they are usually very basic!

The staff are the best! They made our holiday. Everyone is ever so friendly and will do anything to help out!

If you see Maria behind the bar make sure you say Deni and Chris say HI!

Honestly, I’m sure that you'll have an amazing time!

Ps watch out for the free bottles of wine that restaurants give out... the bed cover dry cleaning fee is 20 Euros!

Comments:  Just returned from Cleopatra Superior, had a great stay in this modern hotel, very, very clean which is something I always look for, the staff where great and really friendly, this is the second time I’ve been to Kardamena and this is definitely a hotel I will come back to. The pool area and food was lovely.

The only gripe I had was that we had to pay for the air con which I’ve never had to before whilst on holiday and the so called continental breakfast was toast and cereal, but its best to just go out and buy it as the food over there is a right bargain, for an evening meal try the Amazon restaurant 20 euros (£15) each for a 3 course meal and all you can drink!

We were staying on the bottom floor which was a little noisy, the cleaner was up nice and early 7am to be exact! But this didn’t put us off from coming here again in the future.

Comments:  Just got back yesterday from Kardamena, stayed at the Cleopatra Superior. Could not fault the cleanliness, helpfulness of hotel staff and location of the hotel. Breakfast was described as Continental in our brochure and was very basic compared to other hotels of the same standard which we have stayed at. However the local people say this is the best hotel in Kardamena and we were happy with our choice.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby (2 min walk), and nearly all open early serving breakfasts right through to evening meals and there is something to suit everyone’s taste.

There is a large selection of bars to suit everyone in Kardamena from the loud bars for the young generation (down bar street towards the other end of the village) through to the fun bars doing Karaoke and live acts (3 to 4 mins walk from the hotel). There are plenty of nice cocktail bars on the sea front too.

Kos is a lot smaller than we thought and if you’re like us who prefer exploring the islands by car you'll cover the island in 3 to 4 days. We would say this is more suited to people who prefer a beach holiday. Kos town is a nice place to visit as is Zia in the mountains selling a wide range of local goods. There are plenty of boat trips to other islands to go on.

All in all we had a nice week in Kos, the people are very friendly and helpful, but we prefer the bigger islands like Rhodes or Crete.
