Myself and 5 friends, all male and in our early 20's stayed in the cleopatra hotel. We were all after the drunken nights that Kardamena has to offer, but also wanted to be away from the 18-30's madness during the early hours when the night was over and during the daytime. This Hotel was perfect for us... on arrival, we were split up into 3 rooms on different floors, and when we tried to get our rooms changed so we were together, Stavros promptly told us that it is a peacefull hotel, and no noise was going to be tolerated.... This suited us down to the ground... and can say that not once during the week did we hear any noise during the nights. The hotel is situated about 5mins stroll from the beach and the first few quiter restaurants and bars, and a 10min walk from the main bar street and clubs. The hotel is really good, and above standard for Greek hotels.... the rooms were cleaned almost every day which i was really impressed with. All the staff were fantastic, especially Stavros who was always talking to us.. and making coffee for me in the early hours... and maria who works at the pool side bar... again always talking, and getting us with ice everytime she went into the freezer... we did manage to chuck her in the pool on the last day though..... We went between 12th-19th August, and everyone we met staying there were really nice, and its a shame we had to say goodbye. I would actually recommend this hotel to anyone.... however if you are going to kos to get drunk and cause havok, then dont go here as you will not be welcome.... book into an 18-30's hotel.
stavros is wicked

I and 3 other friends stayed in the hotel last week, had an wicked hols. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. stavros is wicked, always smiling and making smart remarks, makes great coffee even at 7am when we were coming in from the bars/clubs. his famous saying has to be "quiet as a mouse". The pool is lovely and the food is great, maria behind the bar is very funny and always up for a laugh. rooms are very basic but have everything you need. the hotel is situated about 5 mins from the beach and about 10 mins from the main bar street and all the resturants. i would reccomend this hotel to everyone.

Hi, my friend & i stayed at this hotel for a week in May 2006 & the staff where very helpfull- Stamas (Stamp) who normally covers the pool bar area is very sweet- but watch out because sometimes he comes round with a massive water gun & squirts everyone with ice cold water while there sunbathing- even if there sleeping! The rooms are nice & have everything you need apart from there was only one TV channel to watch & whenever you get a shower the whole bathroom floor gets soaked as there is no shower basin to hold the water in. All the rooms have minature fridges & air con which isn't too noisy. The breakfast was a little disapointing i must admit. There was only white bread that you had to toast yourself. A selection of 3 jams, tea, coffe, chocolate cake! yes for some reason they think people want to eat choclate cake & chocolate biscuits for breakfast !?? There was also some coco-pops cereal & some grapfruit juice that tasted like pure sugar lol. The only nice thing they offered was the peach slices & coffee....but maybe im being too picky! They have the internet to use for a small charge & the food you can order around the pool area is good value for money. They sold baguetes, chicken, omletts, burgers, chips etc. There are trips to Bodrum-Turkey every Tuesday from Kos Town Harbour that are great for shopping. I would ask each boat for a proce first & get the best deal. We also booked a boat trip from travel agents which was brilliant value for money that included 3 stops & a gorgeous BBQ & wine.

I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Cleopatra in kardamena! i did not want to leave. The hotel staff were so helpfull and friendly and always put a smile on my face. Stavros is fab, makes goegeous cocktails too! :) Really enjoyed myself and i'm already looking to return. The pool side snack bar had some really nice food. But the hotel has a great location if you do want to eat out. It is very close to the beach restaurants and bars. I would reccomend Alexandra's restaurant, right on the sea front next to Nemo's. Great staff and lovely food. All in all Kardamena is a great resort and Hotel Cleopatra also! :)
So friendly!

Stayed here, bed and breakfast, with my fiancee for a week at the end of June 2005 and what a great time we had. Just to clear something up, the Cleopatra Hotel and the Cleopatra Superior hotel are 2 completely different hotels located a couple of roads and a goat apart. When i was looking for reviews before i booked, i couldnt work out why some called it the "Classic" and some called it the "Superior". So i now know, and so do you, that the classic is the older one where we stayed and the superior is the new one down the street but both owned by the same chap. Ok on with the review... The Cleopatra Hotel was built just over 20 years ago when Kardemena was just a quaint Greek fishing village and is starting to show it's age. Certainly not in a bad way as this adds character to the place but does seem to be stuck in the late 70's! The hotel bar and reception area are dated and could do with a re-fit, but again, functional, well maintained and clean. The pool area is nice, a little cramped and a touch on the dated side but has been kept more up to date with the times. One thing i must mention about this place is the ultra friendly staff. They really did make you feel so welcome, all staff even the cleaners smiled and said hello! Now that certainly wouldn't happen in Spain! The room was huge, i was expecting a small room but ours was on the 3rd floor and all the rooms and balconies are a lot bigger than those on the lower floors. Very comfy beds, all furniture working with no handles missing, small mini bar/fridge, brand new floor (laminate i think), freestanding floor fan for those hot Greek nights and really clean. Bathroom was small, and quite old but fully functional, shower tray on the floor to stand in was the size of a postage stamp! Madness! Breakfast was funny, i mean really simple as with everything in Greece. Served in a seating area next to the bar, Continental style, 2 bread rolls with jam, tea or coffee, a slice of non descript rice cake, and watery orange juice (was probably squash), but again, all served with enthusiasm and a welcome smile. Best thing about this place was the location as it is set back from the busy streets in a really peaceful part. 5 mins walk to the centre, nightlife and beaches etc. and a number of quieter bars and restaurants within 2/3 mins walk. Very enjoyable stay and would definately go back.
Hotel Cleopatra the place to stay!

Although this hotel was very basic (typical of any greek hotel) it was very clean and had everything you could possibly need for a weeks stay. The thing which made this hotel so great was the frindliness of the staff, especially Stavos the night shift bar man who was still all smiles at 3am! The pool area was fab and pool bar a fun place to be. The hotel feels small and everyone knows everyones name, its so friendly. You really feel part of the family! Kardamena is a beautiful place, made so much better by the staff at the Cleopatra Hotel.
Kardamena is fantastic

Stayed at Cleopatra Sept 2004 for 2 weeks. 4th time to Kos but first time to this hotel. This hotel was pretty basic, very clean & location is very good. Well worth the money we paid. They do have a ceiling fan which was great. Safe deposit box was cheap & you can exchange your money in reception, which is open 24 hours. You can use the hotels P C & they also have an ironing board room. Pool was small & there were not many beds. We used the Cleopatra Superior pool as they had loads of beds & you didnt have to get there early to get one. It is about 1 miniutes walk to get there. Superior hotel has a small gym that you can use & a pool bar for drinks & snacks. We went to Kos town in a taxi, which was about 23 euros each way & 25 miniutes away, you do have to go up in the mountains to get there. It was nice there, lots to see. We also got a taxi to Keflos, but there was not much to do there, just sunbathe & look in the shops. Keflos is a quiet resort, & there is not a taxi rank there. I had to go in a shop & ask them to call us a taxi to get back to Kardamena, which they did & didnt want any money for the phone call. Kardamena is a fantastic resort, has something for all ages, couples, singles & familys. Loads of great bars & restaurants. Everyone is so freindly. Music stops at midnight, but the bars stay open untill you want them to. The nightclubs are open till late. Flamingos (car wash) is great. We have been to lots of the Greek islands & kardamena is the best we have been to.

Have just returned from a very enjoyable week at the Cleopatra, the staff are very friendly nothing to much trouble for them, it was clean and tidy, but could have done with more changes of towels, bedding etc. The pool was good with bar area and snacks served between 10-5-30. breakfast was continental ok if you like rolls, jam, cake, cereals, tea or coffee and orange juice. its in a quiet spot and a 5 min stroll from the beach, and even less from bars, shops, and restaurants. All in all a good holiday base.
We stayed in the Cleopatra Classic for 2 weeks and we loved it!! The staff were really nice and helpful and very friendly, the rooms were very clean and you got fresh towels everyday. The food from the snack bar was really good and the menu had a large selection. Our stay... more
