I read the reviews of Angelas apartments after booking a short notice two week holiday. I only found one negative review which, at the end of two weeks does not surprise me. The reviews are by and large, right on the money. The accomodation is basic, but clean. The facilities, pool, bar, shop, restaurant are all excellent. However, what really makes the difference is the service. The hosts Nicki and George and their family and staff cannot do enough to ensure your holiday is complete. Always offering a smile and a friendly welcome, you can rest assured the the hospitality here is second to none. Make sure you go to the bbq/ Greek night :-)
I would certainly recommend Angelas and, should I return to Kos, would not stay anywhere else.
Make the most of your holiday and hire a car locally to see the island.

Not at all clean. Very basic and limited utensils and crockery.Don't you justlove having a drink of wine from a pint glass and having your cereal in a fruit bowl.Towels full of holes. Rooms not cleaned as many times as stated in brochure.Concentration seemed on having a nice bar area .The swimming pool was clean, but these areas could be seen from the road

my husband and i have been going to tingaki for 25 years now, and we love it, theres everything you want there.but we have only been staying at angelas for the past 3 years.wouldnt go anywhere else now, nikki, george and the boys are lovely, the food is perfect, the rooms are clean.and the bar closes when the last customer goes to bed.plus from there you can go anywhere, its the base of operations if you like.the beach is absolutley wonderful with tavernas along the front.and bars and clubs for the evening are friendly and clean.you can walk around the salt lake and see all the animals,,we even saw pink flamingos, turtles, horses, goats, its a bit smelly.and from there it takes you straight onto the beach.i should warn you that there is a nudist beach there but it is far away from the the main beach.if you want a day out you can go to the villages of zia or pyli up in the mountains its a beautiful sight to look down at tingaki.or there is kos town itself bustling old town market or the newer part of town, you can go into the castle that is in the middle of town.theres so many things to do.while in town you can get the bus up to the thermal springs the ride is beautiful, and when you get there well i cant describe the panoramic view, its so beautiful.theres a little taverna on the beach near the springs to sit and relax,i could go on all day about kos.but you really should go and experience it yourself, and as i say angelas is the place to stay, love it we go back in sept.we stay ther every may and sept, and i cant wait for this sept to get here so we can go "home" because thats what it feels like.

My sister and i have just come back from staying here and i think for a 2star hotel you couldnt get better. The owners Nicky and George couldnt do enough for you.The room was basic but value for money. They have put a garden in the back along with swings and a slide so your children are safe. The pool was crystal clear, and the food was very nice.I would definately stay with them again.20 mins from the airport,5 min walk from the beach.Tavernas on your door step.

Used to basic Greek self catering but our room in the annex was very basic. Not much bigger than a small twin room. Worst of all it was dirty. Something had been spilled down the shower room door--inside & out--never cleaned. Tiles and toilet dirty. Toilet seat kept falling off. Had to screw door handle back on. Never seen so much lime scale in a kettle before. Ball of hair obviusly swept from a room lay in corrider for 2 days. Only good thing was that our room overlooked garden at back. Plenty of decent places to eat around +not far to beach but would not liked to have been there when resort busy. .

We were allocated a room in the Angela annex, and therefore cannot comment on the hotel rooms, which may have been superior to the one we stayed in . Our room, 15 was at the front of the hotel and our balcony looked out over the main road. We were unwilling to be expected to pay 85 Euros extra for air conditioning. as on previous holidays it has always been included, and also were not sure if it would be necessary. Unfortunately for us some nights were extremely warm and we had no choice but to leave the patio doors open at night. Although we had no problems with mosquitos we were visited by the occasional beetle which made a noise akin to that of an air raid siren!! also the traffic noise on the main road throughout the night meant that we had very little sleep. I would therefore advise taking ear plugs as a precaution.
The bedroom was a reasonable size but poorly eqiped. The fridge was dirty and I had to defrost the ice box with my hairdryer in order to open it. The kettle was badly furred and each boiling contained strange white particles. There was a very shabby looking hot plate which we decided to avoid. There was a safe in the wardrobe, but we had to pay 25 euros for the key! One shelf in the wardrobe was broken and a door was hanging off its hinges and there was a lump of chewing gum stuck to the floor by my bed which I eventually scrapped up as it was ignored by the cleaner.
The bathroom was very small with a grubby little shower tray and grimey curtain. Showering was not a pleasant experience, having to hold the shower spray in one hand, whilst trying to avoid banging ones head on the soap dish after retrieving shampoo etc from the floor with the other.
The bins etc were only emptied every 2 or 3 days and towels and sheets were changed only once during the fortnight.
We found the rest of the hotel basic to say the least, although other guests seemed to rate it quite highly. The pool was small and adjacent to the noisy main road. Sunlougers were plentiful but without mattresses hence very uncomfortable. The bar was expensive-3 Euros for a large beer, but the one full English breakfast which we ate there was very nice.
The beach in Tigaki, only a 15 minute walk from the Angela, was lovely though, and well worth the 3 Euros a day for comfortable sunbeds a with parasol, a useful wind break when the Meltemi wind strikes about every 5 to 6 days.
We found some excellent bars and restaurants. For beach time snacks and take aways we recommend Taka Taka Mam, and for cheap beers 1.60 euros Quick Grill on the main road. Our favourite restaurant was Meni, and we also liked Oneiros, Spiros, Dana and the Tigaki. A pleasant bar for after dinner drinks and easy listening music was Karma.
A final word of advice. Don't book any trips with the Olympic Rep, they are way over priced and can be booked through any of several other agencies along the main road for a lot less.

The Angela is the best Greek accommodation we've stayed at. It's a 20 minute transfer from the airport and a gentle ten-minute stroll to the beach, past many tavernas and bars, on the relatively quiet main road. The Angela's rooms are clean, light and spacious; tastefully furnished, and in good order. Our room was cleaned, and linen changed, every other day. The balcony with its sea view was an unexpected surprise, as we'd booked late. The hotel itself is just over ten years old but feels newer, with everything, including the pool area, beautifully maintained. The owners, Nikki and George, are exceptional hosts and the quality of food and service at the pool bar is outstanding. The onsite shop is a godsend and their restaurant just across the road is convenient.
There have been some negative reviews about this accommodation, but I think they've been posted by people who don't know what to expect from a stay on a Greek island. Yes, you have to put used toilet paper in a bin beside the loo. Yes, Greek bathrooms do have wet floors - think "wet room". And yes, if you want 5* amenities, then please go to a 5* hotel. The Angela provides a clean, comfortable, friendly base for a peaceful beach holiday. We would go back.

well just come back from staying in the angela the rooms are a good size but and this is a big but not as clean as you are led to beleive as for changing the sheets we had to beg borrow and steal to get the sheets changed, towels were only changed once a week and the bin in the bathroom was left 6 days.there are too many rules for such a small hotel no drinks brought in the shop to be drank around the pool even though the shop belongs to the hotel no room sharing on your last day which was also a rip off 25 euros to keep the room till 5 35euros till 11
if you are unlucky enough to be put in a room 50+ then you are in the dungeons the rooms smell damp and the toilets dont flush properly you also get the biggest cockroaches i have ever seen.the food at the hotel isnt great either but you can go across the road to the hotel restuarant and get 10% off your meal but its the most expensive in tigaki and is cheaper and better else where.
george is a nice guy but nikki is very moody if you stay there and spend all your money at her bar then she is fine but if like me and my family we ventured further afeild she does not say two words to you or acknowledge you.
anyway enough about the 1 star hotel if you want a really good night out with game nights and quizes then get your self to rendeuz vouz just down from the angela colin is areally good compare and makes the evening fun for all
tigaki is a lovely resort very quite even in the evenings but there are some bars that open till late but the best place to eat by amile and cheap is the taverna blue and white tables
going back in october but will not be stopping in the angela be warned the reveiws you have read before this are in my opinion slightly off kilter

Was hotel Angela good? well the kitchen utensils were not all that good and the maid did not come as often as she said she would. George was very funny but does not always like it if you go out all the time because he likes it if you eat at his Restaurant. The swimming pool was ok and moderately clean but the pool was not open when you wanted it to be. overall i guess its alright so if your choosing to go there have a great holiday.
