Miros Studios Reviews
" Great family location "
Submitted By: mr_kipperThere are 32 appartments and as long as you appreciate the Miros is officially rated Greek 2 Star, you should have a great time. For location, staff, views and pool though it feels 4 star at least!! It is not surrounded by other buildings/hotels so has great views and is nice and quiet.
Rooms are cleaned well daily and sheets & towels changed every few days. Although self catering, the "kitchen" is a sink, fridge and a 2 ring electric hot flat. We did pastas, toasties, sandwiches, omlettes, salads - much more would be a challenge. By the way, there is no toaster. The pool side snack bar does salads, burgers, omlettes, breakfasts, drinks and is quite cheap really.
The walk to the nearest beech-side restaurants is about 10 minutes and the main centre is about 15 minutes. The road now has street lighting all the way to the Miros. The sea is 2 minutes away just across the road on a thin strip of sand and the nearest good beech (wider sand area)is 5 minutes. Sea slopes slower and was safe.
By the way - the area here generally has a good breeze so although temperatures may be 40, it feels like 25 but beware sun burn! Yo cool the rooms, you can hire fans or air con but most found fans fine.
All in all, Miros is excellent and is thoroughly recommended for a pool/beech relaxing holiday. If you eat out a lot, it is not cheap with the Euro at the moment and hard to find a real Greek feeling restaurant. Would recommend Ikarous (in to town then keep going up the beech road for another 300m) as best value more traditional feeling restaurant. We used the local shop (out to road, go right 100m then right again) as good price, honest friendly service.
Advice: Quiet location, great beech, hot but good breeze, not a lot to see
Activities: Ikarous, Meni, Dana, Spyro

" Average "
Submitted By: technicsI paid only £212 person against a brochure price of about £390. I have therefore rated this venue against it's brochure price. I would rate 8 or 9 out of 10 if the price i actually paid was the brochure price.
Firstly let me say there is nothing wrong with the Miros. It is perfectly nice, in a good position set back from the Tingaki Beack Road and out of the way enough to provide a quiet setting. The rooms are average, cleaned every day except one when they cleaners have a day off and the pool is nice. But they are no better than any other venue i have visited in Greece since 1988 where i have always paid around £200 per person.
They are very English. The staff who run the poolside bar and the indoor are English ex-pats and there seems to be a number of English folk who visit this venue year on year as they know the staff rather than try different venues as i prefer.
The poolside snack bar for me was basic. Apart from a Greek salad it only serves fried food or toasties which is neither my wife nor my preference when on holiday. It also serves English Breakfast which again i avoid like the plague when on holiday. But there again the crowd there seem to prefer this. I suppose that is the English in general for you.
The room was clean to a point. The bathroom and floor was clean. But it is getting dated and tired. Hot water, yes. Small shower (the norm in Greece) yes, two ring hob and fridge working..yes. Perfectly adequate. But look above on the shlves and there was a thick layer of dust where they have not been cleaned for ages and on top of the headboard which when you think dust is old skin cells would have been good to have it clean. The other issue i had was that a sheet was put directly over the mattress. The sheet barely fitted the bed so by the time you wake up you are sleeping on the bare mattress when it has becomes untucked. As many different people sleep on the bed i believe there should have been a matress cover on the matress for hygiene purposes. The smoke alarm was devoid of a battery as well and the bathroom door frame rotting badly at the bottom and needs to be replaced. As i said before getting dated.
Overall for £212 per person it was fine as a place to rest your head and have an evening swim after you have been out all day. But i would have been dissapointed if i had paid the full brochure price.
Just a quick not about Kos in general. At present it is very expensive. Many things cost a lot more than the UK. £1.80 for a litre of milk and the same for a Litre of Orange juice. Bread was £2 to £2.50 a small loaf. Cappucino is £2.50 to £3.00 (£4.50 at the airport). Beer is about £2.50 for half a litre. We ate out each night spending around £25 to £30 for two people to have a two course meal with a half caraf of local wine. You can eat more cheaply if you prefer fried stuff with chips but we prefer fresh cooked Greek food. Sunbeds are 6 euro a day. There is no such thing as a cheap holiday in Greece at the present time. If you like eating out and visiting places be prepared to spend money as the current exchange rate of the Euro realy hurts the pocket. I was advised to use Lidl on the main road into Kos town for cheaper food but that does not support the local people.

" Miros Studios is a lovely place to... "
Submitted By: Mr S O''NeillWe were looking for a perfect chilled hideaway and got just that! The beach was absolutely gorgeous, we found a good bargain on the sun loungers opposite King Size, if you buy drinks you get the sun loungers free! Also, King Size is a must for food, so nice and really decently priced too!
We stayed away from the main strip as they played the same music every night, if you want a good night out we would suggest the English-run bar the Red House just by the restaurant Weekends, live music every night and if you can play an instrument you're welcome to join them on stage!
We're definitely coming back, its just a lovely place what more can i say.
Big up Judy and Mark, its Ste and Nadia hiiiiii!!!! thanks for making us feel so welcome :)
Peace and Love! X

" Just got back from 2 weeks at the... "
Submitted By: Mr N ParkinNice pool with plenty of sunbeds and a drink & snack bar run by Caroline & Lilian who were always ready to help & have a chat. In the evening Judy & Mark ran the indoor bar & made you very welcome. Rooms kept very clean & our room had aircon if you wanted it.
Barbecue nights on a Tuesday were good value with nice food, a quiz & music. This was set up by the pool & we had a great night (twice) helped by a good crowd & a few drinks!
The Miros is about a 15min walk to the main strip where most of the bars, shops & restaurants are. Our favourite restaurants were Spyros (on the main strip) & Ifestos (overlooking the beach, quiet but good). Our favourite bar was the Cosy Company on the main strip.
There is a very long beach in Tingaki. We liked the area out towards the salt lake best by Alykes restaurant as there was plenty of space between the sunbeds & it was away from the road.
We went on the greek night booked through Olympic which was good & included greek music & dancing, food & plenty of wine. You can also book this direct in the town.
As the area is quite flat we 2 hired bicycles for a week (35 euros in total). Went to Marmari a cople of times (about 3 miles) & almost to Kos town (if we hadn't taken a wrong turn!)
Bus service to Kos town is hourly & worth a trip, there is a fort, archialogical sites & plenty of shops & restaurants.
We will go back again in the future.

Submitted By: Mr I R BarrettThe room was kept clean as per usual by Maria and Co. We were kept well fed by Caroline, and Silke was just the usual German wonderwoman that she is. Mamma T is just a bloody good all-rounder, shame about the girl who does the night time bar, tried so hard to make conversation but it just did not happen, we obviously did not rock enough!
All in all Fab place, Fab weather and most importantly Fab friends.
Mamma T we love ya, Caroline your ace (So are Charlie and Hannah) Silke your she-ra Kerry.... hmmm not too sure on you yet.

" An amazing holiday from start to... "
Submitted By: Mr J JenningsThe studios are basic, but they are comfortable, have everything you need and are cleaned everyday! Towels are provided each day too.
The pool bar is well stocked and the food is excellent - recommend Judy's scrambled omlette or Silkes toasties... and definitely, definitely go to the BBQ on Fridays! When the sun goes down, move inside and have a beer with Kerry... her bar keeps you well oiled until the early hours! (Unless you want to retire to the comfort and quiet of your room).
The staff at this location are better than any other I've been to. They make you feel welcome, they have a laugh and a joke with everyone and they look after you throughout your holiday!
Tingaki is a wonderful place, the beach is massive with plenty of loungers or sand if you prefer. Hire a bike to get around for about 3euros a day - or catch the local bus to Kos for 1.60! There are plenty of tevernas and everything is good value!
I would recommend Miros at Tingaki to everyone - Enjoy it....

Submitted By: Mr E B G GiaramitaA fan is available to hire for 10 euros, which is highly recommended, as it would be very uncomfortable without one.
The pool was nice, enjoyed many games of volleyball and teaching my little brother how to dive and how to tumble turn.
It was a very nice place, it was a shame that we had to go so soon, and I would definitely come back.
One downside is the stray cats and dogs around as they are everywhere some as young as a couple of weeks old, fortunately we met a man called Micki who owned Micki's bar and he seemed to take in cats and look after them.
William the cat at the bar by the pool was vey friendly and vocal!

Submitted By: Miss M BroughtonThese studios were perfect for us, as the restaurants and a couple of disco bars were only a short stroll down the road, while the main nightlife of Kos Town was in easy reach, too, as it only took about 20 minutes to get there by bus.
We found that there was a great choice of places to eat and drink in Tingaki, and the beach directly in front of the complex was gorgeous too.
Our studio was kept immaculate, thanks to the frequent maid service, with clean towels provided practically every day.
We loved the pool area, with plenty of sun-loungers and parasols, and a fantastic pool bar to keep us refreshed!
Overall, we had a brilliant holiday, and would love to return to the Miros studios again!
