Mathraki is very basic but near to all amenities. The family who run the apartments are friendly but leave you to your own devices. In the Thomson brochure it states beds are changes 1 a week, this was untrue in a week we never had our bedding changed and they never even made them! Every day the owner went in and emptied the bin in the toilet. I would go again but i think the company i was in made the holiday not the apartments.

We have been to Arilas 6 times in the past 8 years and love the small and very friendly resort that it is. We had a wonderful 2-week stay the last time at the Mathraki Apartments.
The rooms are not massive in size but just right for 2 people, They are very clean and well equipped for basic catering, but apart from maybe cooking some bacon sardines 1st thing in the morning, it's so cheap to eat out every night it's not worth bothering to dirty the pots and pans.
The apartments are just out of the centre of Arilas up a slight incline heading towards San Stefinos, but they are only a 3-5min walk to the sea front and beautiful beach.
We made great friends with momma & Papa & their son Akis who own the apartments.
We have stayed in a few apartments in Arilas and can honestly say never had a bad one yet, just love the place.

Wonderful people, wonderful apartments, we have been there for 3 years, but unfortunately cannot find any reference to Mathraki Apartments in any tour operator brochure, or at travel agents. Very disappointed. Does anyone know why.
The pool and pool bar are well run and the food is good and well priced, and everyone in the family are friendly and helpful. Arrilas is a quiet village with a sandy and pebble beach, good for sunbathing, with everything you need on hand in the nearby shops.
No large hotel just good family run apartments, and very good food in the local tavernas. Enjoy...

ME and my partner stayed at Mathraki last year, for a week. It is quite basic, but clean and everything you could want. WHo spends loads of time in a room anyway? The owners were friendly, but not overbearing, nice food but no pressure to eat there at all. Nice pool and five minute stroll to centre of resort- which is good because although there is one bar in the village it does blare out music at night- wouldnt want to try to be sleeping next to that! Apart from that the beach is seriously nice. Much better than I expected. I would go again. Arillas is small, quiet and friendly. And what a sunset.
