Went to the Christos in july . Lee,Angela and Phil made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them .Its a great place to relax as this is what we were looking for. The walk to Arillas isnt that bad going downhill but is hard going coming back , we suggest going into one of the bars on the way up.Christos does a mean breakfast and really nice lunches and Phil does a mean ouzo ! Hope to be going back next year this time for two weeks as a week of this place isnt enough .

Firstly please note my recommendation selection is based on OLYMPIC and their horrendous service, NOT on the apartments themselves which we LOVED!
We took our two young children (2 and 4) here in June for a week and absolutely loved it! My advice would be to book these through Olympic as accomodation only and find someone else to book flights/transfers with as Olympic are the company from HELL as far as those are concerned!
Angela, Lee, and the others are fantastic and they were brilliant with our two kids. Noodles was a favourite character for the kids as well. The pool was clean and child friendly, our two loved it so much they were in it by 9am every morning. The food is delicious, and if the bar runs out of Mythos then just move onto Amstel or cocktails - Angela and Lee are happy to make anything you want as long as they have the ingredients available.
The apartment had amazing views, and was clean and of a good standard. Angela emptied the bins daily and we had towel and bedding changed through the week.
We preferred San Stef to Arillas as the hill was less of an incline and so easier to manage, although it was around the same distance as it was to Arillas. The Paradise restaurant in San Stef was fantastic! Huge portions! Tasty Corner catered well for kids (as did Christos)
The only problem we had while here was the fact the mozzies loved my gold top blood! The docs advice was to stay for longer to become immune to them, and so next time thats what we hope to do!
- Advice: Get into the pool in the morning for a wonderful way to start the day, and end the day with a cocktail from the bar :-)

After reading the reviews on this site I was very apprehensive to go to these apartments but I would like to put the record straight. The people who run the cristos (Angela, Philip, Lee etc) were the nicest, most helpful people I have met. The place was spotless and the food was very very good. The service was faultless. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a pleasant holiday in Arillas.

very basic apartments, bathroom really needs an overhaul! our apartment 2b overlooked the car park - very busy as everyone comes to take pictures of the bay. The pool is quite dirty sand blows across from the beach when its windy. One of the bar staff has a dog which wanders around the pool/bar area and it goes to the toilet wherever it likes and deposits nice packages especially around the pool which the flies enjoy!!!! Be careful with some of the sun beds as quite a few are broken.
Make sure you take mozzie stuff with you as there are plenty of them, they are really painful bites and they keep you awake at night buzzing around your ears waiting to pounce. You have to hire fans and pay for air conditioning.
Be careful at night walking around as they are nearly no paths.
Couple of good points there are plenty of places to eat and the weather was reasonable only rain solid for two days.
Would never go to greece again.

Where to start?
I travelled to Arillas with Olympic Holidays, and as usual, the process of getting there, and back, was pretty much faultless. The plane from Birmingham Airport took off and landed on time, both ways, and this time the transfer from the airport to Arillas took only 1.5 hours instead of the usual 3.5 hours it has on previous visits. This was a very welcome surprise.
I was travelling on my own, as usual, and the Christos Studio apartment which became my home for 2 weeks was very basic, but a little tired in appearance. It also did not have the option of air conditioning, but I was able to hire a floor-standing fan from the Kostas Market opposite. This cost just €18 for 2 weeks hire. I discovered, though, that I only really needed it for a week, since after the first week I had adapted to the heat and humidity and could have dispensed with it.
I attended the first meeting with the Olympic Rep, Saul, and was pleasantly surprised to find him completely un-pushy and very helpful. I scored him excellent on everything except local knowledge, but to give him his due, it was his first year in Corfu and I have been visiting the island for over 30 years.
The Christos has a swimming pool and pool bar, and during the meeting Saul did encourage us to patronize these venues, as the owners didn't make any money on the rental of their apartments and relied on the pool bar to supplement their income. I found this a little distressing, and further investigation revealed that some apartment owners were receiving as little as €3.5 per day from the big holiday tour operators. Shame on them!
It was not surprising then, that Fillipos and Angela who run the Christos have allowed the place to become a little run down. They do what they can, but simply do not have the income required to carry out the upgrades and improvements they would like to make. In future I will try to book my accommodation direct with Corfu property owners, to try and help to correct this imbalance. Despite there being a little more work involved in booking direct, I have also worked out that this can result in my overall trip costing less, as well as my being able to rent a higher standard of accommodation for the same money. So a WIN / WIN scenario there!
Corfu is undoubtedly my favourite holiday destination, and Arillas my favourite Corfu resort. That's not to say that it would suit everyone. Arillas attracts a very cosmopolitan visitor, including Germans, Swiss, Italians, French, English, not to mention Greeks as well. Arillas is also a fantastic place to dine. I have not found any poor places to eat, but I have found one excellent restaurant. This is called Brouklis, and the best way to decide what to have is to ask Demitri, the owner, to choose a different selection from the menu each time you visit. Demitri speaks five languages absolutely fluently and the food and atmosphere at Brouklis, I think, is the best on Corfu.
Car hire, bike hire and excursions can be arrange locally at Arkokal Travel, and the nearby sandy beach offers warm waters for sun worshipers to cool off in, plus the choice of a 'textile' town beach and 'non textile' secluded north beach.
Arillas is a wonderful resort if you are looking for great a beach, combined with a quiet relaxed holiday and if you relish meeting new people from all over Europe. It is definitely not for xenophobes or those looking lively bars or discos. If you want a more English styled resort, with more noise and bar entertainment, I would recommend you choose Sidari which is about 20 minutes from Arillas on Corfu's north coast. But, if you are after a cosmopolitan resort with a fantastic beach and superb cuisine, then Arillas could be your ideal destination.

Arillas is a quiet resort - a handful of shops and tavernas - the perfect place to relax and enjoy traditional Greece as it should be. The area is very scenic with some beautiful beaches and hide-aways within a 10 - 15 minute drive. Check out the sunset beach if you go - it's well worth the visit.
The Christos apartments were ideal for us - very welcoming people who made our stay enjoyable. Ask their advice on places to visit - they're very helpful.
One good point about the apartment is the fact that you can actually turn on a water heater for a nice hot shower - instead of having to shower early to beat the other guests to it!
- Advice: Quite a long transfer - but worth the wait!

The Christos apartments are set up on a hill over-looking countryside and the sea in the distance. Our apartment was on the second floor and had a lovely long balcony over-looking the owners field which had lemon trees, lime and fig bushes, grapes - which we helped ourself too (don't think they minded!) We had a fantastic view from our kitchen window which looked over ag. stefanos the village next door and Arillas headland - it was a beautiful view. Inside the apartment was clean and bins were emptied daily which was good as we've been places where they don't. Bar staff were friendly and got on really well with our kids - who had a great time in the lovely clean pool. All in all a really good holiday enjoyed by all.

I can't believe all the negative feedback Christos has been receiving. I read it after I had booked and was a little bit nervous about what to expect - but I was worrying about nothing! We had a fantastic holiday - lovely spacious apartment - basic (isn't it always?)- but clean and fab surroundings with our balcony looking over fields to the sea beyond. Very friendly staff who speak good English and are only too happy to help and get to know you.
For us it was ideally situated half way between Arillas and Agios Stefanos - so we had the best of both resorts to choose from. It is up a steep hill - so we hired a car from Olga's Travel down the road - which we sorted before we left and haggled to get a really good price - much cheaper than Olympics. If you want to email her: olgastravel@gmail.com Otherwise walking is a good way to work off all the food!!
We can't wait to go back to the Christos Apartments - and if you're lucky enough to get the newly refurbished studios for 3 - then you're in for a treat - they're fab!

Olympic messed us about and we spent from 1630 until 2030 getting to the resort.Olympic staff had to resort to telling lies as to why it took so long. This was not there only botch up.Avoid there reps . Saw and heard one of the English members of staff make a complete **** of himself shouting and threatening a holiday maker.Totally out of order.Cristos apts are at the top of the list for this type of accommodation. Good rooms and regular cleaning and sheet changes.Kids loved the pool ,so did adult guests. Another problem was a member of the staff showed signs of substance abuse.really manic behaviour. So while Arillas is great I shant be going to Cristos apts.I have since read reviews and am not surprised at the negative comments.I shall avoid travelling with Olympic holidays in future.

They forgot to mention it was a very steep hill and a busy road where they all drive like maniacs and there is no pavement.
Angela, Lee and Angela's mum (excellent cook) were very nice but Angela's brother Philip is a definite ladies man or thinks he is anyway. Be careful of him. also watch your money as there were discrepancies in the bar bills. He spends most of the day getting drunk or asleep on a sun bed.
Arillas is a lovely place but I would recommend staying down the hill a bit. Lovely beach and some nice bars, fairly quiet overall. Good for families.

I went to the Christos Apartments at end Sept 11 to 3 Oct 11 and went alone as my friend was ill and could not come. I loved it there, the
room was comfortable, basic but very clean, balcony on both sides, so
sun or shade at all times, a short walk to the swimming pool, which was clean as were the loungers around it. Walking into Arillas the first time was a bit daunting but after that it was easy. Angela and Lee were helpful and Noodles and Mamacat adorable. All in all I had a really good holiday, and would not hesitate to go there again.
