We have just returned from a week at the Denise Apartments in Psilidi, Kos. The accommodation was the usual basic Greek accommodation but spotlessly clean. We were in rooms 24 & 27 near the bar and found the noise levels at night meant we had no sleep until after 2am.... more

Brilliant family run hotel. Very friendly from retired_backpacker
We just got back from here today and felt compelled to write about it straight away. Apaprt from the fact we had really bad flight times with Monarch (by Olympic Holidays) arriving at Kos at 6am last Sunday and departing Kos at 4am this morning. Maria and her family run this place with a nothing is too much trouble attitude and they make you feel like part of the family. We met people who had been going back there for 5 years, every year. The only complaint would be the noisy maids. They would chat on the phone outside our apartment at 8am onwards. Normally this time would be ok but not when you are on holiday and the hotel bar is open until late. Kos town is only 30 mins walk away so you are far enough away. you can get a taxi, bus or rent one of the hotel bikes for €3 per day and it's a 10 minute leisurely cycle to town - there are special bike lanes too. The food at the hotel bar is pretty darn good - try the 'special greek salad' AMAZING! I think we had one almost every day! The prices are reasonable too. If you want to try something else you do not have to wander too far to find some Tavernas along the main road. We can recommend the Taverna Akrogiali which is on the main road fronting onto the sea. In town there is an lovely traditional Meze restaurant called Elia (olive), we went there twice in our 7 nights
