Just came back from the Playazul Apartments in Las americas. The accommodation was in a great location, walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants & bars. Apartments were fairly basic but had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Pool area nice with big sun terrace. Overall it was a nice break on a lovely Island. more

Excellent location,, 3/4 minutes fro the main bars,, many many restaurants local,, staff very very friendly. Pool 100% Little bit dated in the apartments but very clean. well worth the stay

Just returned from a week in Playazul Apts. Tenerife. We arrived at 3.00am to a nice reception area. Iwas impressed, espcially after reading the horrible reviews. We checked in and was shown to the lift by a burly security guard. We were on the 4th floor, room 414. We opened the door and it was like walking in a chinese takeaway. There is a chinese buffet 3 floors down and the smell is really strong. We opened the patio doors to look at the view and the noise was horrendous. We took a bargain break, quick week to Tenerife for a family of 4, two of which are teenagers. We stayed at self catering Apartments PLAYAZUL in Playa des Americas. The best bit was the pool - one of the cleanest I have ever experienced and the size of apartment and equipment was very good. The worst bit -no air conditioning - and the beds were appallingly uncomfortable. I think package hotels will have to learn that they must invest in better beds!. Went here at the end of June 2006, 6 girls aged 19-20 in total. We booked seperately for flights and hotel to get it cheaper. When we first arrived at the hotel we had to climb a number of stairs to get up to the place, hard with cockroaches climbing everywhere and large cases! Make sure your taxi driver drops you off at the back entrance with no steps if he doesn't help you with your cases! When we arrived we thought we were being kidnapped as the taxi took us the back way into the hotel and it looked like a prison with cages instead of walls. If you're looking for a place to lay your drunken head, on a budget! after a hard nights partying! Then this is definetely your place! But becareful of the steps. Not for people with walking difficulties, prams, phobia of stairs. Didnt know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised very basic accomodation and needs updating but very good clean pool and in the middle off a busy area . If you like your tea and coffee take a portable kettle as nothing is provided and also no TV in our room which was a bonus for us but some people want something to watch more
