shabby room, with mould and crumbling ceiling in the bathroom, cleaners did not clean the room for 4 DAYS!, had to request clean towels after this time, and the floor became appalling. Mid-way though the holiday, our appartment was burgled while we were out, returning to find our mobile phones stolen, and also my son's games console, with our clothes and passports etc strewn around the floor. Felt extremely unsafe for the remainder of the holiday, particularly when, on the last night, gangs of youths were rampaging the corridor outside our appartment, knocking on widows/doors, and generally intimidating families who were trying to sleep. Was afraid to go to sleep, particularly as i was alone with my young son on this holiday. There was a security guard on duty at night, but nothing was done.

holiday from hell, is the first thing thats comes into my head redarding the holiday that we have just returned from as a family. family holiday it was not. it was more like going to blackpool for a fortnight. the hotel was not suitable for families. okay if you were 18 and single or spanish. the spanish took over the pool they would jump on the english kids when in the pool then laugh.drink alchol ( glass bottle ) around the pool then leave empty bottles around the pool which any child could had fell on. rooms were basic mattress were about 1 inch thick if you were lucky. when going out on a evening you were hassled as soon as you left the apts by young lads and lasses asking if you wanted a drink and to go in their pub, no pubs suitable for a family with young children. if it wasnt these people hassling you it was people selling glasses and watches. why does thomas cook sell these apts to families when they know what the apts are like.never saw the rep, ever after complaining by phone. a offical letter will be sent to thomas cook. you spend all year saving for a great holiday which doesnt come cheap now a days, and you end up with a holiday from hell. we werent the only people to complain while we were there and i dont think we will be the last. thomas cook need to get these apts out of the brochuse before another family suffer like we have.

WORST HOLIDAY EVER!!!!!
We asked for a nice relaxing holiday which was not near the bars and in a nice apartment. Well.....we were in what I can only describe as Blackpool in Europe!
I went with my girl friend both of us 24 and postgraduates students looking for a nice break which if we wanted to go out for a few drinks we had the choice. To get to our apartment you had to go up 7 flights of stairs(no lift if your in y or z block). The receptionist was a rude madam who told us that we would have to drag our suitcases to the apartment ourselves! my mate has a bad knee and was in pain ALOT, as everytime we wanted to leave the apartment we would have to take the steps.
The pool was clean but had loads of young lads who would take over the pool and alot of drugs were taken in the day by the pool. Especially weed which would give you the headache from hell if you were sat next to them.
Our view was a graffiti wall with barbed wire and was next door to Tramps nightclub. The noise was unbelievable until 6am everyday! Fights occurred every night also below our balcony on the alley way we called 'the drug den'. We got hassled every time we left the apartment by bar reps, club reps and guys selling sunglasses. They were really rude when we said we were not interested. One guy on a moped nearly run us over as we said we didnt want to buy his 50$ bar crawl event ticket. The moped crew prey on newcomers, dont buy a ticket as you can go on a free bar crawl which is better with thomas cook.Got to the point where we hated leaving the apartment it was that bad!
The only good thing was the maid who use to clean everyday she was lovely. Dont stay here of go to this resort if you want a nice holiday!!!!!!!

Me and my best friend have just returned from a two week holiday at these apartments. HOLIDAY FROM HELL!! 100 steps to our apartment, staff very rude and cockroaches everywhere. Arrived just after midnight, no lighting around rooms, and to have to carry a suitcase down a 100 steps wasnt very reasonable!! As soon as we got in to our room cockroaches were everywhere. One jumped out from the cutlery tray onto my friend...she wasnt impressed and neither was i. We went straight to reception to the 'helpful staff'..pointless journey..the security guard the majority of the time was drunk. The room was hardly cleaned, we were lucky to have clean towels once every three days. Even the balcony was dirty!! Sheets and the floor were filthy black and the subject of hot water? WHAT HOT WATER. We complained and complained and nothing was done, we never once saw our rep in the whole 14 nights we were there. We were spending more money than what we had intended to because we refused to eat in a room full of cockroaches..we had no toaster, microwave and to call what we had a kettle is an understatment. We had no plug by the mirror for us to dry or starighten hair, and no light! We were also sleeping with the lights on so that we would hope the cockroaches wouldnt come out. The return coach was 40 minutes late and a previous coach offered to take us to airport but for 20 euros each..dont think so!!! Overall our holiday was brilliant but i would never stay in these apartments again if you paid me to. Ill be complaining to my tour operator and hope for some compensation.

This was the worst place that i have ever stayed in, the rooms are poor condition, the staff and unhelpful and on several occasions crack heads were allowed to come in to sell swimming toys to kids because the security were too scared to ask them to leave

The apartment which we stayed in was very good. It had a living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. There was a balcony with a table and two chairs which was ideal for a night time. The beds were not the best but you could get extra pillows from reception.
It was in the prime location in Las Americas and you are only a 2 minute walk from everything you want.
At night you could hear music until 6am, due to the busy night life which was 200 yards away, but closing the door solved the problem.
The pool was fine and was always clean.
The maid service was excellent as they must have been in 5 times a week.

Last year me and 4 of my friends decided that we wanted to go on a girly holiday, and decided Tenerife would be ideal to start with, because it's not too big. So of course we decided to go to Las Americas for the clubs.
It was our first holiday away on our own (3 of us were 17, and another 2 in the year above who were 18) so we really didn't know what to expect from the apartments considering all the reviews we'd read on the internet. When we got there, the hotel looked okay from the outside; nothing special, but not terrible either. But we paid our deposit and were shown to our rooms. For the price that we paid, the room was fantastic - everything in the kitchen worked and the living room was big and spacious. There were two bedrooms which although they weren't massive, it wasn't that big a problem because we didn't spend much time in there. The bathroom was okay too , but the hot water was starting to go slightly lukewarm by the time the 5th person was getting their shower, but to be honest, after a full day in the sun, the coolness was welcome!
Our room was on the side of the hotel closest to Starco Strip, with all the major clubs on it. From the apartment, we could hear the music from the clubs, but it was fairly muted, and definitely not loud enough to keep you awake when you came home to go to bed. In fact, it was nice going to sleep with a general buzz as background noise. I wouldn't say it was any different from going to sleep in a house next to a road.
The staff were friendly as long as you were polite, and the security guard was comforting to have there. Only I recommend you don't mess with him haha. Oh, and he pronounced Reception as 'Recepcioni!' [ree-sep-see-oni], which was cool. Haha.
To be fair, to all the people who're saying that it wasn't what they'd expected and it wasn't ideal for their children, what the hell were you doing going to Las Americas in the first place, which is renowned for its clubbing scene and young people? If you can't handle the scene, don't go there... and especially not with children, thats just kind of stupid. You'd be much better off going to somewhere calmer, like Los Christianos, which was a 15minute taxi drive away.
Overall, the holiday was fantastic if you're looking for a basic place to stay, enjoy yourself and go out clubbing =] - We all LOVED it.

The apartments were very basic. The sleeping accommodation was a settee. The views were non existent.
The apartments were approx 200m from the Staco night club area and even with the door shut you could still hear the noise.
In my opinion the apartments were only fit for those who were night clubbing and wanted a bed. I would not recommend it for any other purpose.

Myself and three friends went to Playazul Apartments in August we had the most fantastic time. The apartments were spacious and clean and ready for us on arrival, the staff were on hand 24hours a day and they were all helpful.
It was in a central location to everything we wanted, all the bars and restaurants and amazing night-life that Playa de las Americas has to offer. Although in other comments people have said the stairs were a problem if your disabled, I didn't even notice it there was a lift inside the apartments!!!
All in all it was fantastic and the pool was nice and never too full. I am booking for next year.

Firstly be aware that when flying with easyjet we were told that our flights didn't include our suitcases, me and my boyfriend were both very shocked by this as we have never had a flight before where it didn't include our suitcases, we were therefore charged an extra £50.
When we arrived at Playazul we had to pay a 60 euro deposit incase of any damages, we then went to our apartment and found that the room was full of damanges. Make sure you tell reception about all the damages otherwise they will try and charge you. The room was very basic and relatively clean, our balcony looked out onto a building site and after 3 days of being woken up every morning at 8am, we asked to move and they moved us to a much nicer apartment which was more than double the size.
The pool was a nice size and clean and the hotel was in a good location, near lots of restaurants and nightclubs.
I would not stay at Playazul again, it was not worth the money and reception were very rude to us. We went to the waterpark one day and we asked reception where the free bus was and the lady sent us completely the wrong way and we ended up missing the bus, it was only when we asked someone that we realised that she had sent us the wrong way. She didn't say sorry for this.
