" the hotel and room was ok, the resort... "

the hotel and room was ok, the resort was very quiet with only spanish restuarants near by , all the menus were in spanish and even when trying to use the language the waiters etc were not welcoming at all. we didnt plan on eating out but the food was so bad we didnt have a choice. it was very uninsperational, the worst cuts of meat and fish ive ever seen. breakfast was terrible we only ate it as there was no-where else to get food in the morning and this was only possible to stomach when we bought our own sauce to take in. to sum up i would only recommend this hotel to people who like a room only, with nothing to do near by, love a real uncommercial spanish resort and want a very very quiet holiday.

" All I can say is, please please... "

All I can say is, please please please do not go to this hotel

I could write a book on how bad this place was but I want to summarise it as follows:

The place was the worse location i have ever seen. It was in no way a resort and I couldnt believe that holiday companies would send people there.

The staff were very unhelpful and couldnt give a toss about your time there

There was nothing to do in the evening apart from drown your sorrows in the bar that looked like it was out of crossroads actually 20 years before that oh and the pool table which was broken throughout the holiday apart from the last day where I found out the cues were basically sharpened bits of metal for tips and the cue ball twice as big as the others...

I think the pool table summed the place up. It swallowed my euro on the first day. It was broken beyind repair a bit like the hotel, there was no notice which summed up the staffs attitude and managements towards the tourists.

OH I did forget to mention that me and my girlfriend were there for new years eve. The hotel had been done up for the locals to enjoy newyears there, we werent even told what was going on. We asked reception if the capital santa cruz was busy for new year, of course he said yes, we got a taxi and it like a ghost town with everything shut, we then have to get a taxi all the way to the south of the island to Los Cristianos of which on our return met another couple staying at Las Catillas who had been there for an hour getting shunned by the taxis (it was too far and less profitable to take us on the long journey). We spent £200 that night on taxis and overall most our money on a hire car to get out of that place all week to drive back down to the south of the island

Please avoid it and get them shut down!!!!

Avoid at all costs

" Our party was of 3 adults and spent a... "

Our party was of 3 adults and spent a week at this hotel all inclusive. It is rated at 3 stars but I would give only 1 star.

If you don't like stairs or very steep slopes this is not for you. When you first enter reception it looks ok but then you get your keys our first rooms were half way down this very steep slope we changed our rooms as one of our party has breathing problems and this slope would have killed him.

The food was terrible stone cold if you want hot food you had to make sure you were in the restaurant as soon as it opened and the choice was very poor.

Staff could not speak a lot of English; in fact we were the only English people there. Rooms were very basic they could have done with fridges in the rooms and the only and only plug was a death trap as it was coming away from the wall. Nothing outside the hotel except one supermarket and flats!

They say they have 3 swimming pools which they do and guess where they are situated yep right at the bottom of the very steep slope, going down is ok but coming back up is murder and the restaurant is right at the top so if you are lucky to have a room right at the bottom each day to get your meals its back up the slope.

One of the staff told us when we went to change some money into Euros that the hotel did not change English money we were sent to the next town, on our return we asked another member of staff who told us that they do change up English money - it seems like the left hand don't know what the right one is doing.

On our last day as our flight was not until 9 at night we thought we would have a drink in the hotel before ordering a taxis to the airport only to be told no no all inclusive ended at 12 o clock so once your time is up and can't get anything unless you pay for it our reply was not very nice as by this time we were all fed up with the place.

As for entertainment ha ha nothing except n a Saturday night when the local old folk come into the hotel and use it for ballroom dancing.

So if you have a family young kids or teenagers or any walking disabilities don't go to this hotel as it is terrible and you will be bored out of your mind.

We are only glad that we booked for one week I think we would have created if it was for two weeks. AVOID HOTEL TENERIFE TOUR.

" Hotel Tenerife Tour is not for anyone... "

Hotel Tenerife Tour is not for anyone who cannot manage stairs as there are plenty and steep hills/slope or as this hotel calls theirs a ramp.

On first impressions when you enter reception one thinks this is not too bad until you get your keys to your rooms and find you either have many stairs to your room or the dreaded slope.

The slope is not bad going down until you think you have to re climb it to get to the restaurant.

Food not good not a lot to choose from and if you don't get there right on the dot the doors open the food will be cold, and there is no microwave to warm it up. Staff cannot speak too good English and none of the notices are written in English.

The place is very isolated with only flats and one supermarket outside. The rooms are very basic could do with a fridge in them. Swimming pools are guess where yes right down the slope as so is the pool bar.

As our home flight was not until 9 at night we thought we would have a final drink in the hotel bar only to be told by the no so smiley barman that our ALL INCLUSIVE was over now that we were leaving - our reply was not so good so I can't write it, so if you don't do stairs or very steep slopes don go to this hotel, it is classed as a 3 star I would give it half a start rating it is that bad.

" After booking the tour, I have been... "

After booking the tour, I have been afraid of this place because of some negative reviews. But fortunately it was much more pleasant than expected.

First, this hotel, or the area is definitely not for the party-goers, yes it is far from almost everything, but it is not in a deserted place at all, it's just that the majority of the people are locals. Las Caletillas is just a short walk away from La Candelaria (they are practically one settlement), which is actually some sort of "holy" place for the people on the island, here it is the "Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria". It is perfect for a nice calm holiday, meeting the locals and learning their customs (which you won't be able to do in Las Americas for example.). Because the island is pretty small, you can get anywhere by car or by bus, so that is no problem either. The buses leave at regular hours, so check the schedule (or ask the receptionist), and be on time, then you won't have to wait long.

The rooms could have been better, some painting perhaps, especially on the outside, but considering that it is right next to the sea, it is understandable that the moisture can do funny things. But it was clean, and cleaned daily. And the fact, that our room had a clear view of the sea was an extra.

The food was pretty good, was always hot, no matter when we went, the choice was enough - sometimes even overwhelming, I could not decide what to eat, because I like good food :).

The staff was ok. The fact that they speak very little English is generally true for the whole island - understand people, that Spanish is more widely spoken than English, so they do not need English, we need to learn Spanish. If people see that you try to make a little effort speaking their language, they will be much nicer, this is true for the staff too. We befriended some locals, and although we could not speak Spanish and they could not speak English, or our native language, we chatted for about 2 hours!

The beach was indeed small and a little rocky, but that was not really a problem, as my wife wouldn't really dare to enter the ocean, just a little, because the waves are usually pretty big, big enough for surfing too. But the hotel has a very nice pool, filled with salt water, it was a really nice feeling swimming in it. It also has a bigger pool, which is filled by sea water, when the sea level is big enough.

On the overall the place had its flaws, but generally I felt positively about the place, and would recommend it to those who just want to feel good at a great price, and can overlook the flaws.

" The hotel was jaded, but clean and... "

The hotel was jaded, but clean and well decorated. The food was uninspired, repetitive and always cold The area was remote and although there was a bus stop outside the hotel, the buses were infrequent and on one occasion we waited nearly two hours for a bus back to the hotel in the early evening.

The management and staff spoke very little English and information in the foyer regarding bus stops, bus cards and surrounding area was in French or German. The only entertainment was on Saturday nights when a live band started playing at 22.00 hours and finished at 3 am.

During a storm when water came in underneath the front door, the only help we were offered was two bath towels to mop up.

" On arrival from the southern air port... "

On arrival from the southern air port which took 45 minutes by taxi, and cost 55 Euros for 5 passengers, the hotel looks ok when entering, the receptionist who was the duty manager sent us all straight into the restaurant for evening meal as this closes at 10 o’clock so we only had 30 minutes before this closed. The food was cold and un-enjoyable with this we all thought that this was due to us checking in late.

We then asked for our keys and help with luggage after seeing a 100 or more steps down to our adjoining rooms and were told that there is a ramp at the other side so no help was given which I was surprised at as we had a friend with us who is 72 years of age so myself and my partner struggled down with 4 cases and 2 tired children.

Morning broke and we all climbed the steps for breakfast I really thought that myself and my friend were going to have a heart attack, I am a fit person but a had come on holiday for a rest and not to climb steps twice or some times three times a day. So if you don’t do steps don’t come to this hotel.

As we were here for 2 weeks we would only do the climb twice a day, as the days went on we enjoyed coming back to Tenerife as this is our fourth trip and we always stay on the south coast at Costa Adeje so the change was a nice one, but with regards to the hotel I would never recommend any one to this hotel as the food stayed cold for the 2 weeks I even complained and got the chef to cook my children some hot food but after that evening the food was still cold the following morning. The food is out at 7:30pm and is never replaced or turned and the only time you see any staff near the food is when they take it away dead on 10 o’clock.

Really, this hotel is not for tourists as there is no entertainment day or evening and is miles from any where, no beach apart from a small man made cove which is full of rubbish really not safe for children, the whole of the hotel needs a revamp to bring it in line for a 3 star hotel including the management which we found very rude and unhelpful, to the point that we had a storm one evening and one of the rooms started leaking from the light fitting and then the ceiling, at least 6 cracks appeared, I phoned the reception and was told that there is nothing they could do apart from move rooms. I asked for a bucket and was told "no buckets can not help you" the room by then was flooding I went up to reception and asked again can some one help us to move clothes, belongings and cases and was told again "no one here to help you" so as you can see if you want a nice holiday in Tenerife do not stay at the Tenerife Tour as this would be your holiday from hell.
