We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Montemar. The resort is fab - great places to eat = recommend Ses Veles. Mayfair is a great Bar and has some fun nights at Mister Cairos. The beach is great for kids. You can catch a ferry to Es Cana, Santa Eulalia or Ibiza town... more

Good cheap base to explore from rogathome
We hadn't been to ibiza before so decided to stay somewhere quiet as a base to explore the island. The montemar was very clean and tidy well maintained and comfortable, located at the top of a hill and surrounded by pine trees.( also has a pool) I've read reviews where people moaned about the hill but it wasn't a problem to us, even after a long tiring day at the beach ! For what we paid we were pleasantly surprised, I can reccomend it.

I will start with the rooms, the room we had was clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchenette (microwave, kettle, fridge and hob) small bathroom but clean with an unusually powerful shower. The room did smell musty but it was early in the season. Our room was positioned under the sun terrace and although we went at the the beginning of May it was possibly the noisiest room we could have had, the noise from people going up the steps and dragging sun loungers around was unbearable, there were also 2 pool table positioned approx 5 metres... more

The management of this place is the absolute worst. We were two couples and had reserved two rooms. We were going to be in Ibiza for 2 nights. We got to Montemar and were told that they had oversold and would take us to a sister location. After couple of hours, they took us to the sister location. The location they took us was of much lower quality and they gave us only one apartment, although we had reserved two. After a long argument, the manager of the sister location told us she thad two apartments ready if Montemar would okay it.... more

We just returned from a weeks holiday at the Montemar Apartments, for anyone who is going it is absolutely fantastic, i really didnt want to go after id read all the bad reports about it, but when we got there it was a plesant surprise. The rooms are very spacious, well equipt and clean,the pool is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Yes there are a lot of steps, and the hill is quite big, but we managed to get up n down it three times a day with no problems. Cala LLonga as a place is beautiful..not very... more

Just back from a week in MONTE MAR. Had been there ON 2 previous OCCASIONS AND found IT OK (APART FROM A STRAY RAT IN THE APARTMENT) Now very run down, furniture very poor.beds awful, ant infested Staff unfriendly ("SEE THE MANAGER" was 1 response i received from a female employee at the pool bar. Cala LLonga is a nice resort and the Mayfair Bar is excellent, but not the Monte Mar

We have just returned from the Montemar having enjoyed our stay. Beach is great and the complex is largley run well and is clean and efficient. Please do not sleep at night with your door ajar despite the heat as we were broken into whilst asleep. This is apparantly a well known local fact that we were not told about especially as we had young children. This did stain an otherwise good holiday.

Just got back from a week at the Monte Mar Aparthotel, Cala Llonga, Ibiza and had a great time. Great family place, providing entertainment during the day and night. Quiet location but within easy walking distance of beach, bars, restaraunts and shops. There is also a small funfair located in the town. Staff at the montemar were pleasant and helpful, and there were no problems with them being overbooked and people re-located as in the report that I have just read which is what initiated this response from me, just to let other people... more

Montemar was a lovely place. Basic but clean. The staff were extremely friendly and child friendly. They definitely make the place. The entertainment was ok although some guests, particularly some of the older kids, made it difficult for the staff to play games without spoiling it for other kids. The area was a bit on the hilly side but it was a good adventure. I would probably go back again in the future. The apartment was clean and tidy and towels and linen were changed every day. We had a good 1 week holiday in Montemar Apts. our apt. was very good in size and location, although I feel we were lucky as some were not so well located or had very small terraces. The walk to the town is steep but not too bad if you are fit, my 4 year old managed most days, I did give in one day and carry her from the town - never again in 33 c !!! the apts. were cleaned regularily and we had plenty of clean towels, the entertainment was OK just enough for us but DO watch your change at the bar, lets say a few errors were made !!! the... more
