we paid a bargain price for a bargain bucket holiday.
PLUS POINTS
the apartment was acceptable and well maintained and cleaned throughout the week.
pleasant staff
plenty of sun loungers
no young children!
good sized pool
NEGATIVES
stale cigerette smell in the apartment on arrival
nearly 2 days without water - various explanations (luckily for us we were going home)
but we spent excess euros on bottled bottle for boiling/washing - we, along with a host of other guests collected pool water to use for flushing the toilets.
you get what you pay for - we had sun and relaxed, not much to do except laze by the pool and wander about but would go back to green park.

Ok to start with like the old saying...you get what you pay for so do not expect the Green Park to be like a 4 or 5 star complex because it is not,3 star at most i would say.
That said we was more than happy after spending a week there. After reading some of the reviews on this site to say we was nervous about going there would be a understatement and if i am honest when we arrived at around 10 o'clock at night i was far from impressed and was ready to go elsewhere only because of the fact that it was so dark around the complex which gave it a far from pleasant feeling.A few working light bulbs wouldn't go a miss around the place! But my girlfriend kept saying it will look better in the day light and she was right!!
The pool area is ok with loads of sunbeds so never a problem getting one, normally 2 lifeguards on duty keeping watch on the pool and if you go by some of the other reviews you would think the hotel is in the flight path of Heathrow or Gatwick!! Yes the planes are low when they come over but it's not like they are coming over every 5 minutes and to be honest we quite enjoyed watching them come over so dont be put of by the planes.
As has been said before there is no air con in the rooms and as our room looked out on to the road and the irish bar opposite we had to keep our patio doors closed at night but even so it was never a problem as it was never to hot at night. There are a lot of Spanish holiday makers staying here and also some of the apartments are used by locals as homes but even so they all seemed friendly enough.
There are some good places to eat down by the marina that look out over the sea and the bus service is great for getting about. You can get a bus ticket for 12 euro's at the supermarket across the road and that will last for ages as if my memory serves it only cost 1.20 euros to get to Los Christanos which is well worth a day out. Also we got a taxi from the airport which was less than 15 euros and there are loads of taxis just outside the hotel if you need one.
It seems to me that most of the problems with Green Park are with people that went half board and to be honest i can see why as the restaurants in the hotel dont look good but if you go self catering like we did there shouldnt be a problem tho the cooking and eating stuff in the rooms are very minimal so take a kettle!! We ate out all the time as like i said the are some lovely restaurants down by the sea.

My Fiancee and I booked this as a late deal due to various circumstances. The thing that draw our attention was the half board offer for the 'reletively' cheap price. (Which turned out to be an expensive self catering holiday)
Upon arrival when we got into the room, it stunk of an unknown odour. The next day we found out it was fresh paint layed onto fresh plaster. Although this set back was quite irritating, the receptionist did appease us by moving us into the adjacent room which was of a better standard.
The rooms are not air conditioned, so we had to book a fan the following day after a very hot night pulling the beds next to the balcony, to avoid the smell and the heat... which lead to the planes which DO pass over directly keeping us up in the beginning of the night. Also dont expect the fan to arrive that same day, it took an additional day for it to arrive.
The pool is very good despite all things considered, and sun beds are easy to come by.
Now if you are looking to book this place, the rooms are adequate enough to support you for self catering, with cooker, sink and fridge all usable, but lack kettle and toaster.
The final point, which is the main concern was the food for our half board basis. The breakfast was limited but overall adequate for average appetites, but the evening meal is extremely poor, with a set menu of (if lucky) two options, which were below edible standards and the 'restaurant' is a downgraded cafe with as previously mentioned by others, a sanctuary for flea bitten cats!
Overall if you are on a tight budget, definetly do not go Half board.

Myself and my sister have just arrived back from a 7 night stay at Green Park Appartments. I am 23 years of age, my sister is 26 and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday!!!!! HALF OF THE REVIEWS ON HERE ARE A LOAD OF RUBBISH!! DO NOT BELIEVE THE HALF OF THE BAD REVIEWS!!!!!! Our appartment was basic but had everything we required. We were fully aware that this was to be the case as this was what we paid for!! Our rooms were cleaned and bedding/towels changed every other day which was quite sufficiant.
There was everything we needed close by, plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEDRO'S RETAUANT AT WINTER GARDENS, FABULOUS RESTAURANT!! Id also recommend O'Donnels Irish Bar, very welcoming and friendly. The bar staff at the resort were friendly and helpful!!
There is plenty to explore within walking distance, we found some delightful little areas by the sea, beautiful coves and a glass restaurant right on the sea front!! This was about a 10 minute walk but worth every minute, beautiful!!
There is alot of people grumbling about the airplane noise, this was made clear when booking and to be quite honest was an enjoyable part of our holiday. I very much enjoyed watching the planes going over and would even say we did a bit of plane spotting, haha!!!
All in all we had a great holiday and enjoyed every minute. You get what you pay for and alot of the bad reviews are obviously by people who dont read the hotel information properly and cannot be bothered to walk a little way to discover the beautiful areas!! I would reccomend Green Park to anybody who is not looking for anything spectacular!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we have just arrived back from tenerife green park in golf del sur, when i first read the reviews on here i paniced and wanted to give my holiday away, but after seeing what a load of rubbish every one was talking it was a good holiday. iam 21 and my boyfriend is 20, the pool wasnt heated no like most people moan about but we were so glad it wasnt because it was roasting over there. The planes were close but they wernt that bad we just got on with the holiday rather than moaned about every little thing.
Green park is mostly full with spanish people already living there who were very pleasant, the staff were very nice and quick with things we asked for and reported such as our money was stuck in the coke machine. There is no air conditioning but you can rent a fan, the rooms were clean and basic all we needed was a bed and a bathroom which we had the bins towels and bed sheets etc were changed every other day which was very good they didnt just bagre in they rang the bell before they entered.
There is not much entertainment in golf del sur but its what you make of your holiday when you go not whats there, we ended up in the bar opposite called o donnells irish bar, they are wonderful in there a right laugh you must go and see the lizard kings on a saturday they were fab.
Restaurants that are a must go to is pedro's it is lovely in there espically the salmon and on the way to san blas just before the entrance to the shopping centre is a hotel with a restuarant underneath it called BIG AL'S my boyfriend is very fussy when it comes to meat steak etc he ordered a 120z rump and the was not one piece of fat on this huge cooked to prefection piece of meat it was lovely and quite cheap also angus steak house is nice.
Also you can go down to the marina and fish by the harbour on the rocks (if you fish) in my case its a good spot to sunbath.
we went to LORO PARK which was fantastic it was 84 euros for the two of us with a bus that picked us up 2 hotels away (parc albtrios) its about 1 hour 45min to get there but once your there if you love animals this is the place to be its fantastic whe watched the whales dolphin and sealion shows as well.
Also we brought a bono bus card for 12 euros which was for both of us and went to los christianos for the day on the beach which is even hotter because there is no sea brezze.
Overall even though it was away from all the madness of clubs etc it was a good holiday. If you have already booked and have read the bad reviews and your my age dont worry its not as bad as they have made out some people are just fussy.
HAVE A GOOD HOLIDAY XX

AHH I HATED IT!!
OK FIRSTLY I WILL LIST THE GOOD POINTS,
*ROOMS, WE WERE GIVEN TWO ROOMS AS WE ARE A FAMILY OF FOUR, THEY WERE SPACIOUS AND CLEAN. JUST WHAT IS EXPECTED REALLY, THE BALCONYS WERE LARGE WITH TABLES TOO. HOWEVER OUR 2 ROOMS WERE ON DIFFERENT FLOORS!
*CADDYSHACK, A SMALL CAFE OWNED BY A BRITISH WOMAN, SHE WAS LOVELY, LOVELY CAFE.
BAD POINTS!!!!!!!!!
AEROPLANES!! IM SURPRISED THEY WERNT LANDING ON THE ROOF! RIDICULOUSLY CLOSE! MADNESS! VERY LOUD! HOWEVER THEY USUALLY STOPPED FLYING PAST AT ABOUT 11PM.
NO ENTERTAINMENT! AT ALL EVER!
MY MOTHER WHILST WE WERE THERE WAS PUT IN HOSPITAL DUE TO A CUT ARM FROM THE POOL AND HAD TO HAVE STITCHES. 75 EUROS FOR THT.
SITUATION! NOT THE HOTELS FAULT BUT WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF KNOW WHERE... 2 SHOPS!!! 1 BAR! 20 EURO TAXI DRIVE TO LOS CRISTIANOS OR LAS AMERICAS!
FOOD ... THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME WE HAD TO EAT OUTSIDE OF THE HOTEL, EVEN THOUGH WE WERE HALF BOARD. THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. CATS WERE ALLOWD INTO THE RESTAURANT. THIS IS JUST DISGRACEFUL. ANTS ON ONE WALL AND TABLES WERE AGAINST THE WALL. THE FOOD WAS ALWAYS COLD OR VERY LUKE WARM. IT WAS DISGUSTING! I WOULDNT LET A DOG EAT THERE!
STAFF WERE RUDE AND UNPLEASENT!
BOREDOM! NOTHING TO DO!
SUNBEDS WERE SNAPPED UP FIRST THING IN THE MORNING LIKE 6!
MOST OF THE GUESTS WERE SPANISH, WERNT MANY ENGLISH PEOPLE.
THE CONDITION OF THE OUTSIDE AND RESORRT WAS JUST AWFUL!
ON THE 5TH DAY THERE WAS A LARGE CRANE AND BUILDERS OUTSIDE OF OUT BALCONY! MAKING NOISE FROM 8 - 6! SO ANNOYING!
THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW FOR US! WE HAD TO GET OUT OF THERE!
HONESTLY IM NOT EVEN EXAGERATING!
AFTER A WEEK OF HELL WE MOVED TO A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL CALLED PRINCESSA DACIL! THATS THE BEST CHOICE WE MADE! WE WASTED A WEEK OF OUR HOLIDAY THERE. WE DID GET A GOOD WEEK IN THE END. HOWEVER WE HAD TO PAY AN EXTRA 580 EUROS! WORTH EVERY PENNY THOUGH!
I WILL NEVER EVERRRR EVVER GO THERE AGAIN OR RECCCOMEND IT TO ANYONE!! EVEER!

Good hotel, it did what it said on the tin so to speak. As per its name and description it is an apartment hotel. Some of the apartments are privatley owned.
Each room had a small kitchen area including fridge, two single beds, a sofa/futon, chairs and tables and a balcony.
The hotel and resort were quiet which is what we wanted, no getting up at 7am to put your towel on the sun bed! The livlier resorts are close enough to get a bus or taxi though there are plenty of resteraunts and a couple of bars close by.
We stayed there Half board. Breakfast was fine a selection of cereals, breads and pastries and you could also order a cooked 'english' breakfast if you wanted. We were slightly disappointed with the half board dinner menu. It was the poolside snackbars menu, toasted sandwiches, pizzas, burgers/steak and chips etc which is fine if you like that sort of thing but we would have preferred a more 'authentic spanish' option. We ate out a couple of nights to have a change of menu. If we went back again we would go Bed & breakfast instead.
The resort.
The resort is purpose built around a golf course and full of ex-pat brits. It is hard to find any authentic Canarian architecure or ambience though if you just use it as a place to sleep and are out and about all day it shouldn't be a problem.
It is just a couple of miles from the main tourist airport so you will hear many planes landing especially on a Friday night.
I would recomend O'Connells Irish bar across the road from the hotel for drinks and lunchime snacks. The hotel bar is cheaper though if you want to stay in. If you walk down to San Migual harbour (about 10 mins) there are plenty of resteraunts our favorite being La Marinera.
Overall a pleasant stay the only downsides being the dinner menu, the miserable ex-pat local business owners (you'd think they'd be happy living in the sun!) and the awful Karaoke that comes from the Sundowners (which is in the hotel complex) bar till 3am on a Sunday night

Just come back from a 2 week stay at this resort. Was a little bit wary after reading reviews but was plesantly suprised. Couldn't fault the hotel, staff were friendly, rooms were cleaned every other day, pool was fantastic. Me and my husband are in our 50s and it was perfect for us, but probably not so for the younger and I probably would say it isn't great for families either. If you are looking for a quiet holiday then this is perfect. Entertainment stops at 12am although the bars do stay open longer. Other restaurants and bars are about a 10 minute walk away and are mainly English. I would definitely go again as we had a great time.

I don't know why people complain about this hotel. The rooms were cleaned every other day & the towels changed. The staff were very helpful & friendly.Yes it was basic but for the price what do people expect ( if you want 5* accomodation you have to pay 5* prices). We had a week on half board and the meals were fine the food was of a good quality & my husband would recomend you try the fish it was excelent. We would deffinetly stay here again.

We stayed at Green Park for a week half board in May 2008. It seems that a lot of people who have left reviews are very negative people! I believe a holiday is what you make it.
We arrived at the hotel at 9.30pm just as they were closing for dinner but we were giving the opportunity of going through and eating and then coming back to check in so we did not miss out on dinner. The receptionist spoke very good english.
We ate in the bar area for our half board basis as the buffet restaurant was closed although we seemed to be the only ones there that were half board! There were cereals laid out with croissants and a toaster to make toast. Drinks were supplied also, and i think there was also an option of having a hot breakfast as well.
Dinner was from the bar menu which included things like steak and chips, salads, pastas, chicken and chips etc. A lot of things with chips but then you would not have got much different if it had been a buffet. Ice-cream was available for desert, although we paid for out own drinks.
The pool area was very quiet during the day, but it was nice as there was a breeze which made the heat more bearable. Yes the pool was cold so we did not attempt it but then it is cold in a lot of countries!
We got a Bono Bus card from the supermarket across the road from out hotel (next to the irish bar), as Green Park hotel did not have any in. You can buy them in 12 or 30 euros. We went to Playa De La Americas for the day and it cost us 3 euros each both ways. You just tell the bus driver where you are going and put your bus card in the slot machine and he takes the money off the card. You can then use your card again and again until you have used all the euroes up. A taxi to Playa De La Amercias is approx 16 euros each way, so def cheaper to get the bus unless there are 4 of you.
There are quite a few small supermarkets dotted around although they all sell basically the same things, but some do vary in price on different items. There is also internet access about 10 mins walk away as the hotel's was not working when we went.
There is a Netto, restaurants and shops about 20 mins walk from Green Park, and there are also some more restaurants and shops about 15 mins walk down near the harbour.
We got a taxi from outside Green Park to the airport which cost us 15 euroes, a bit hefty!
The bar staff, and reception staff all seemed friendly enough, and any questions we had were answered.
It is a good holiday if you just want to relax in the sun, and takes things easy. It is good value for money if you are going half board.

my wife and I have just had three enjoyable weeks at the green park;yes the rooms are basic but they are clean and spacious;the towels and bedding were changed on a regular basis;the pools were cleaned every day.the trouble with a lot of the other reviews is they want five star plus for 3 star money;we paid 365 for 3weeks great value for money.Golf del sur is nice resort;but not if you want a lively night or beaches this is not a resort for you;plenty of bars and places to eat;there is aircraft noise but not as bad as some of the reviews and not many through the nights;all in all if you want a good cheap base;value for money we would recomend the green park;we travelled with travel republic and everything was fine.

We did this as a late booking and we foud the apartments where great, really clean, and the resort was just what we where looking for, no mad crowds, well described on the website. First time we Have used BookMe2 and would definatly use them again, even got luggage lables in the post from them and a letter when we got home!
If you are staying in Golf del sur, I would recomend a car, otherwise it can be a little isolated, and difficult to get out and about (we like to travel arround a bit when we are on holiday)
Lorro park is well worth a visit, and the Medeival night too (you can book it yourself, and drive up - it's a lot cheaper.
A little tip when hiring a car - I alsays book the smallest one they have available to rent on the website, usually (and I mean 9 times out of 10) they never have the smallest car available at the rental location, so they have to upgrade you free!

2 star accommodation that is tired but surface clean. The bedding and towels clean, towels(which were soft/white) changed 4x in our two week stay. The complex was well maintained, pool and surrounding area cleaned each day while we were there, but you do need to be up early to see them(0700) start. General areas tidy and mopped but litter dropped by guests in corridors can be left for a day or two. Didn’t see any nasty bugs(we were on first floor) nor any silver fish, a few tiny ants around edge of sun-bed areas and we saw them spraying around edges one day, so that was good. Sun-beds were free but again basic and plenty of them. THE POOLS ARE UNHEATED, but you do get acclimatised and need to keep swimming.
Yes it is on the flight path, being 1minute flight from landing, which is quieter than should wind change and they take off over you. Keep your doors and corridor windows shut at night then planes not disturbing, I’m a light sleeper and fridge cycling disturbed me more than planes(not many in early hours) , ear plugs worked well.
What you pay is what you get, reasonable value, many of other guests we spoke to were happy enough with Green Park and said “well you don’t spend much time in your room”.
Kitchenette; hob has four rings but there are only three pans. Take your own scissors, sharp knife, corkscrew, egg cups. There is no kettle, or toaster/grill but you can hire them €15 each/wk (also hair drier), so take you travel kettle or buy one there form supermarket. Waste bins only emptied every other day & not on Sunday.
Overall staff pleasant and our dead light and dangerous socket outlet in kitchenette were dealt with promptly within 4hours impressive.
Do use the safe - again €15/wk. Pay television but unless your sports mad don’t bother, watch a bar’s instead.
Do buy a bus card €12(from Hole19 supermarket) its 30-50% cheaper to travel and get a proper timetable from bus station then you know when buses are coming and despite what they say they start their journeys on time. Its cheaper to go direct to LosChristianos on bus 483 and much quicker 20mins, half of time by bus 470.
If you want a cheap good supermarket then go to mercadona yes it’s a brisk 20min walk but you can catch the bus back and you’ll save your bus fare on your first bottle of wine and they have some great meat and fresh fish.
We are aged in late 50's.

Hotel accomodation and amenities were absolutely fine, I've been to a lot worse. The rooms were cleaned reguarly (as well as by ourselves). So much to see and do, i recommend getting a car.
Only thing I didn't like about Tenerife was how unfriendly the locals and settlers are.
If I could pick up this hotel and put it in Greece I so would.
Not one complaint about the hotel.

if you are unlucky enough to end up here then all i can say is good luck, this place is without doubt the worst hotel i have ever had the misfortune to step foot in,from start to finish this this place is an absolute nightmare come true, the receptionist is useless it took two hours to get us checked in at 3 in the morning,we were tired and hungry,i had to go to the hotel next door to buy snacks from there machine, the rooms were grotty and thats putting it mildly, the balcony was full of rubbish that people had thrown out,the food was absolutly disgusting,i can honestly say i would not give it to my dog,the holiday spends i took for the kids were used on eating out,i would have trottled the manager if i could of got my hands on him, this place is disgusting and i cannot think of one good thing to say about it,i,ve rated it as 1,and that is being very generous,as i said if your unlucky enough to end up here, then the best of luck.
