Perfect For Self-Catering
8 / 10
Nov 2011, Steve and Susan

As the title suggests the quality of the apartment was first class. Both spacious and comfortable with adequate cooking facilities, two ringed hob with full oven. Waiting staff very attentive, but the food on the whole was poor. Although, once you'd had a couple of meals and knew what to avoid you could choose a reasonable meal, fresh salad, freshly fried fish, pork, lamb, etc.
Located adjacent to two golf courses in a quiet area, still a number of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Handy bus stop outside the door for Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas although we preferred to hire a car and explore a bit further afield. Through the day you were aware of the landing aircraft but I wouldn't say it was intrusive and certainly couldn't hear them inside the hotel.
On the whole we were happy with our deal and would recommend this aparthotel for a quiet, self-catering break.

just got back after two weeks in golf plaza .a friend and i both in our sixties.it was school half term and very noisy around pool area .dozens of kids!nice apartments. food not to bad but could have been hotter.no decent entertainment in hotel. nothing around the immediate area except a bus stop to other resorts. golf de sur has nothing to offer except a few hotels two small supermarkets two restaurants and two shops which sell souvenirs.a couple of pubs with not much going on and of course golf courses.if like us you like to go for a walk at night after dinner then this hotel is not for you.there is nowhere to walk to!nice hotel if it was somewhere else.

Jul 2011, Disappointed

We enjoyed 10 days using the hotel as a base for visiting other parts of Tenerife. Our apartment was pleasant and had plenty of space. It was clean and had good air con but also had the occasional additional visitor in the shape of a cockroach. The pool area is fine but not particularly luxurious. Coffee, drinks and snack facilities during the day are basic and limited. Dining facilities are poor. The cuisine is definitely not the strong point of this hotel... The breakfast buffet served a limited range and the hot buffet was cold ... Cold baked beans...yuk. The evening meal was poorly cooked and most guests voted with their feet. This resulted in a lack of atmosphere and no-one in the bars or entertainment. The hotel advertises a spa and indoor pool.. In fact this is in a separate building, there is a complementary swim within 2days of arrival otherwise a fee is charged. Again no-one was there and it all had a bit of an "unused" quality about it. Very pleasant staff. Hired a car and had a great time, fabulous Tapas and restaurants overlooking the sea in Playa Las Vistas so we gave up on the hotel food completely! The hotel blurb says the beach is 500m but this is stretching the truth somewhat!

Just came back from Golf Plaza on 5 Nov 10 after a 7 night break. The hotel was excellent. We were self catering and the accommodation and self catering facilities were excellent. We didn't eat at the hotel therefore unable to comment. The hotel and room were always clean. There was no unruliness from anyone. We didn't drink there either therefore unable to comment. The hotel is on the flight path to South Tenerife airport but this is not a problem during the night or when you are in your room as long as you keep the doors closed, you won't hear any noise. Outside, the inbound planes are of diversion of interest. The pool is OK, the bar food is reasonably priced though we didn't try any. The hotel staff were friendly enough and english speaking so no problems. Car parking was a problem and when asked where to park I was informed that I had to park on the road. On most occasions this involved a bit of a walk as there is only on the road parking.
On the resort itself, there are plenty of bars and resturants within reasonable walking and the food is reasonable priced. There are several nice walks along the coast and plenty of places to stop and take a rest or food and drink. We would definitely go back.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 week in feb 2010,it was a cheap deal through BIC leisure, the hotel was brill, wery clean u could eat your meals off the floors, the staff were very helpfull,we had a prob with our room due to the rain the week befor and we were moved to a new room within an hour.We ony had two meals in the resturaunt but they were both very good and there was plenty of choice and you could eat all you wanted. We also did the presentation with BIC which we found very relaxing and informative, there was no hard sell and in the end we did purchace the pacage that was on offer, all in all a wery enjoyable week, plenty to do,lovely area to visit nice bars and resturants, you are near the airport but you soon get used to the planes,we found it very cheap to eat and drink. We will be returning later in the year.

Hotel itself is nice and clean. However food is awful. If you want to lose weight, this is the place to go to because you definately won't be eating any of the food. The same food everyday, half cooked and cold including the cold plates.
Smoking allowed in the bar and not suitable for non smokers !
Allowed to have free water for breakfast but not for evening meal.

Cold Food

We have just returned from this hotel and must say was very impressed by everything except the food. In the week we were there not once did I have a hot meal. Even the plates were cold. It didn't matter what time you arrived for a meal the food was always cold. One time at braekfast I saw somebody put some fresh baked beans in tha bain marie and out of interst I got a spoonful, stirring the beans before I took them and they were cold and they had just came from the kitchen. I was a bit concerned when I saw a microwave by the food, so that was the only way to get a hot mwal. We went all inclusive and in our opinion the servive in the resturant and bars was not as good as " paying guests " because obviously being all inclusive tips were not required also if you were paying then you had a choice of drinks, if you wanted beer with your meal you were given a glass of beer with no choice soft drinks were from those watery syurp things but if you were paying you had a choice of beers and soft drinks were a named brand If you were to pay each day for your meals it will cost you aprox 30 euros a day. Apart from the food the hotel is first class and I would have no heaitation staying again but only self catering. Towards the end of the week I noticed a a few people comming in the restarant to have a look before paying for a meal, because you needed to pay before you ate. It was real shame that the food let the hotel down.

The hotel has only just started all inclusive so it only got its 4 stars for the accomodation.
Planes going over it every 5 - 10 mins, sometimes more oftern, its hard to get any peace or sleep.
The food is awfull, cold and unimaginative, and breakfast raw.
The rooms are clean, as is the hotel, but there is no atmosphere, and the pool area extreemly basic, i dont know where the pictures on the hotel were taken.

My fiancee and i have just returned from the Golf Plaza. We had an extremely relaxing experience, no hassle, no presure, extemely clean hotel and very friendly staff. the heated pool was fantastic, only ate breakfast at the hotel twice, which wasnt the best.Had breakfast at the Caddy Shack next to hotel which served a good English breakfast. we ate out every night and explored Golf de Sur which has some very pleasant eateriers. The area is very pleasant, quite, safe and friendly. One thing we found annoying was the restuarant touts competing for business and we would advise everyone to check soft drink prices before ordering ie if you want a glass of coke you get a pint and you end up paying 5 euros etc etc. But overall our stay in the hotel and resort was excellent and recommeded to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday.
