First impressions of the hotel were good. Clean reception and pool are looked very nice. We arrived at night.
The room was very very dated, no air con, unbearable, hired a fan, still unbearable, the bath was mouldy, there were ants, towels changed twice, bedding changed once and the toilet... well if you flushed it at night it would refill for 8 hours making so much noise we had to have the fan on the noisey level to block it out. Room right above bars so very noisey, not a problem for us as we are young, but people out on street till 5 in the morning is a little off putting.
The pool was maintained ok, always someone fishing things out of it, but just dont look too closely at the sides or you will never go in. Staff at pool bar very friendly, staff in reception werent that helpful but luckily we didnt need much help.
However, one of the BEST holidays we have ever had as four of us went and we made it great and to be honest the hotel wasnt that bad, just being picky. GREAT location!!!!! Plus they are refurbishing so would definately go back when air con installed! Dont let this review put you off as a holiday is what you make it!!!!!

dirty - bed bugs in childrens beds due to dirty covers, had to spray and get rid of the bedding, towels never changed - the maids just hung up the dirty ones again. toilet would not flush - was repaired next day but then developed a new fault, mould round bath, tiles broken off in a lot of places in swimming pool. apart from that - one good point was the position - right next to beach and the colonial bar - nice place to eat,

Fantastic.
Yes the room was a little stuffy and had lots of ants and airconditioning would have made this much more bearable, I would strongly reccomend that this is installed or even portable units provided (you do get a fan but this is insufficient). Lots to do in the surrounding area, great pubs and restaurants both inside and outside the complex and an exellent location all round (can be spoilt by the constant pestering from the 'lucky lucky' men but one comes to expect this now in Tenerife I guess - I would say that this holiday is good value for money.
I used the Thomson text service to find out about my return transfer and this worked extremely well with a ''buddy'' booking and texting back the pick up time from the complex.
We are definately going back next year.

A nice place however it is a bit far from the nightlife. Having been told the apartment I booked was near the nightlife and wasn't largely focused on people around the age of 40-80 and families I was a bit angry when I turned up. The pool was nice though and all the staff were friendly and always helpfull. In the studio apartment the rooms were cleaned everyday however in my room the kitchen cupboard was damaged, the back door was damaged and the television didn't have half the channels it said it had. Having paid for an hour we had to watch German MTV. As I was out every night I guess I only used the place to sleep in so this wasn't too much of a problem. Overall I'd say an ok place, not the best, but not the worst.
PS. It's in Playa Torviscas not Playa De Las America

I Went with my Mum and 3 little sisters 13,6,1. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. the pool was amazing although you cant really take your wallet in the pool for the swim-up bar. when i was there the holiday rep had a free sangria demonstration which ended up with alot of drunk old people. The beach is literally 1 minute away and there is a mini-asda around the corner and when i left they were building a tesco express. If your like me and like to get slaughtered at night then their is a wide variety of bars and clubs in the area with drinks priced around 1.50 euro. The bumblebee pub was my favorite check it out behind the hotel. It would have got 10 but the maids in the hotel refused to clean the room because there was a couple of clothes on the floor...thats what they are meant to do? I Definately recomend it.

A group of us went to this hotel in August for a week, we had a brilliant time. The hotel itself was well equipped. The pool was great, room was great, beach was great. We enjoyed the local nightlife and the hotel is really close to the nightlife yet you don't hear it at the hotel.
We enjoyed several eateries near the hotel and several more bars. The atmosphere was great. We had a good view from our balcony although it was not a sea view. We could view part of the pool area. The nly problem we found with this hotel is that the food was not good and very over-priced. Theyhad a lot of local competition from the bars and restaurants near by so we didn't eat at the hotel after the first time.
We had a great time and would recommend this hotel to groups, couples and families. Its in a great location and has something for everyone. A top of the range hotel.

We have just spent a superb 2 weeks stopping at the Pueblo Torviscas. After a lengthy delay at Manchester we arrived & was greeted by the duty manager who was polite & sympathetic about our delay.
The accommodation is basic but clean & well maintained, the only gripe was that these apartments have no air conditioning.
There are 2 good size pools that are cleaned daily. There is entertainment on in the complex at night with the local acts that do the circuit like Elton John, Abba etc.
There is a pool snack bar & an excellent restaurant that serves good moderately priced food, the location is that good that within 5 min's walk you can cater for anybodies needs.
The beach is clean tidy with crystal clear water that my 3 year old loved.
The hotel staff were willing to assist to any query we had, overall if it’s a family holiday with a bit of something going on to entertain all, then I would recommend this place to anybody.

The best thing about these apartments is the location (even though it's about 15 minutes from centre of Playa de las Americas) everything you need is close by.
You have two good beaches within a minute walk of the apartments; in fact the closest is just a matter of walking down a couple of flights of stairs. There are several supermarkets close by including an asda around the corner.
There are hundreds of restaurants within a 5 minute walk, including Burger King & a beach front McDonalds.
The apartment itself was clean a spacious, we had a studio which had a kettle, fridge, microwave, sandwich maker, pay TV, etc. Balcony wasn't brilliant, but we had a sea & volcano view, so can't complain.
The complex itself is quite large, 2 pools, 2 bar, 1 restaurant/cafe, 1 snack bar, 2 pool tables, etc. The pool was cold and quite dirty, no one went in it apart from us, but they may be due to their age.
When we went (Feb. 2007) it looked like SAGA had invaded the apartments, it could have been the time of the year but it was eerily quiet at times when we walked past the pool (like a seen from the birds, just replace birds for 60+ year olds) but they were friendly(ish).
The staff are not the best; they really need to go on a customer service course. They seem unhappy if you dare to ask a question. After an unpleasant check in (I think we interrupted her dinner) we tried to stay clear.
I would recommend these apartments if you are just going to sleep their & go out everyday to the beach, water park, etc. It's not one of those places you can feel comfortable just staying by the pool.
It's good but not right.

What can I say these apartments are great, good sized rooms, 2 large pools for the kids and activities in the day by the pool.
Apartments are standard but very clean and great for self catering, towels changed 3-4 times in the week.
They are in a great location just 5 minutes to the harbour, there are lots of good restaurants down there, try the Irish Rose its always busy, staff are friendly and the food is excellent.
The beach is just down some steps from the apartments, and lots of shops nearby although some having a refurb at the moment.
I would recommend these apartments to families and couples. I will definitely be going back in the near future.

Having been to the Pueblo Torviscas Apartments for the last 3 years for Christmas & New Year, I can only say that it is one of the best European complexes I have stayed on.
The restaurants are great as are the staff and they go out of their way to help you. At Christmas it is like a big family gathering with people returning year after year and the atmosphere is brilliant.
The apartments are close to all amenities, restaurants, bars, beaches etc and for people who like to shop they cannot go wrong with the market & San Eugeno just along the road.
There are also some great walks, and if you go through Fanabe to the end there is a terrific fish restaurant down there.
We are getting ready to go over in a few weeks for our fourth year, and I can't wait!!

On arrival at the Pueblo Torviscas we were impressed with over-all look of the buildings and gardens they were beautifully kept.
The reception staff were friendly and we were in high spirits! However... we knew from other reviews that the apartments were basic, we were fine with that, but our apartment was pretty dark and dingy, had pretty awful decor and as we entered there was a musty smell, almost like the apartment hadn’t been aired for months.
The apartment was clean everywhere else though, and because we were self-catering we were only using the apartment as somewhere to sleep and shower in.
It's a pity about the actual apartment, because the surroundings are so nice and luxurious looking!
We loved the location, so close to beaches, markets, restaurants and bars.
I would recommend going down onto Torviscas beach front for your evening meal, there are some excellent restaurants down there.
Watch out for the "scratch card" touts!, They are awful, rude and wont take no for an answer, we were "pounced" upon quite a few times, and not even the really quiet areas are free from them, also we were soon to work out that they work in pairs, BEWARE!!
Even the restaurant touts were friendlier than these lot!

Firstly must say I really enjoyed holiday at Torviscas. Very close to beach and amenities, weather was fantastic great time had by all. The only thing that spoiled our stay was when we visited one of the on site restaurants (44 regent st) service was slow, food was cold, attitude of staff miserable.
As these were new owners starting on a new venture we tried again only to be disappointed again. Luckily the pool bar offered fine food served with a smile made our holiday thanks to all at pueblo Torviscas.

Everything the other two reviewers said is true. The location is excellent, with many restaurants, shops and bars in the immediate area. There is even an ASDA, but its actually corner shop.
The thing which stops me from giving this place a higher score is the lack of a double bed. Which when the place was full of couples is something that should be standard in at least 50% of the rooms.
When booking the holiday we were not aware that if we wanted a double bed we would need to specify it. This would be fine but we are a couple and we went into the travel agents to book it - Going Places, Borehamwood. It was obvious we were a couple looking for a holiday together. The travel agent should have said we could have asked for it, or told us it would not be available if we didn't specify it at that time.
Thomson's rep out there told us it was 99% 2 single beds in the Thomsons apartments in Tenerife. Next time we wont book Tenerife with Thomsons if they don't have any double beds.
* Weather *
It was sunny every day and 30'C-32'C. A gentle breeze on some days.
* Beaches *
The beach is 1 minute walk from the apartments. The sand is blackish in colour due to Tenerife being an island created from a volcano (Teide is volcano name). It's not active but it does mean the sand on most beaches is black, and a bit rougher than golden sand. But its not a problem because there are so many beds to lie on. The beds are 6 euros each. We just used the free ones at our hotel pool.
* Shopping *
Many shops in the area plus a large Market is right outside the apartments.
* Walks along sea front *
There are many well surfaced paths, which are wide and have restaurants, bars, shops, all along the sea front. Perfect for getting a bit of shopping, watching the boats, other people, working on your tan while getting essentials.
* Quad bikes, Motorcycles, Jet Skis, Whale/Dolphin boat trips, Pedaloes, etc etc *
All of these can be arranged either in the apartments at reception, or for a better deal go outside and slightly to your left, down the steps to the sea front. Then turn right and go along the path until you get to the nearest WSC (Water Sports Centre). This is just a permanent wooden hut big enough for two people to work inside. It has booking facilities (mobile phone and voucher booklet) for all the activities and they also know all the best deals.

This resort has to be the best we have ever stayed in the apartments are spacious and clean.
The pool area is fantastic with no shortage of beds and activities throughout the day i.e water polo, a quiz sheet handed out by the pool everyday, French bowls. Dean - the entertainments manager was always good for a laugh as well.
There are also plenty of restaurants and bars within the complex and the Happy Hour at 1 euro a pint was hard to beat.
A
Also all the staff within the complex were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful - when we would go to one of the bars within the pool area called Manalo's for a drink in the afternoon he would give us complimentary food.
I would recommend these apartments to anyone.
