Good for: Beach
" Great Base "
Submitted By: ManfieApartments were clean and quite big. Better than I expected and didn't show me up as I was the one who booked. Great big mirror for getting ready! Yes there is a hill but if you've come off the strip its not far, don't know what the fuss is about. Situated right in the middle of two beaches and just off the strip. Would definatley go again. The only things I could say that were not so perfect was the view out our window was of that of another hotel, but there was plenty to look at there! The bedroom light was not so perfect for putting your make up on, so you had to go in the bathroom, (No big deal). Magaluf has a full spectrum of people. Did plenty of people watching and chatted to some really nice strangers. Get down to flavours for your tea, the food is fantastic, especially with a jug of Pimms. Great price and location will be back soon, with my Mum and my sister, ages 33 34 & 56.
Advice: It's not just about SEX and DRINKING. There are many nice qualities.
Activities: TT's Flavors for tea opposite Katmandu
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: 6footsharonGood points: Apartments were spotless and big enough for everyone and the stairs beside the pool leading down to the strip that brought you right out at chaplins.
Bad points: the big hill you have to climb up to get home (the outside stairs close at 10pm), the people not bothering to be quiet when they came in at 6 in the morning (try not to get a room right beside inside stairs - you can hear everyone coming up them through the bedroom wall!!) and the big party of English people who sat around the pool all day drinking and shouting and playing football and basically annoying everyone (but we were just unlucky)!!
Would not recommend these apartments for older couples, people with famlies or people with walking difficulties. if you are looking for a place to crash after a mad night out with a great pool, this is the place for you.

Submitted By: Mr Cn NashThe hotel hosts a mixture of people from young to the old, sports men to sun goers, groups and couples. It has a very mixed European culture catering for Scandinavian tastes as well as Spanish and British..so if your a young British couple dont expect a pleasant smile from your neighbour if they believe your going to make a racket to the early hours..simply just show some consideration. Plenty of young families there too which is good as the hotel prides itself on baby catering which is a must plus.
The indoor pool was clean and warm but not 100% in repairs, there was no hot tub or gym, but what do you expect from a 3 star. Don't forget there is a supermarket on the bottom floor which sells fresh milk and fruit, cold drinks and sausages. The restaurant is fabulous also but caters for a limited amount of people, and the staff will accommodate vegetarians and vegans well!
Rumours have it that its location on top of a steep hill is a killer...well its not all that bad and the brisk walk will do anybody good. Internet and phones are all 100%.
Overall I'd give this place 9 out of 10 but dont forget its only a 3 star but the highest standard of any 3 star.

Submitted By: Miss L SmithThe room was lovely (all four shared 2 in the bedroom, 2 in the living area) and although I thought we would struggle for space, we had more than enough room for all our clothes etc and were very pleased with the full length wardrobe mirrors!!
Our only problem was a broken sink pipe which meant we couldn’t use the bathroom sink for the first day/night, but it was fixed the next morning and batteries for the TV remote were brought as requested.
The hotel staff, although not the friendliest dealt with our problems quickly and were always available and made sure noise was kept to a minimum in the early hours (including us!).
There was what I assumed to be a new, round the pool service run by some Swedish guys, although they seemed to stay mostly with the Swedish guests, but they did mention that they were planning on organising events around the pool and making a mini beach! There was also a section set back from the pool with air beds but these were always taken by the time we got up!
The hotel food was lovely, reasonably priced, and right by the pool and there was a mini supermarket underneath the hotel! It sold anything you might need!
My only downside to this hotel was lack of people to talk to. Everybody seemed to be Swedish or German at first although a group of Scottish and Irish guys came part way through the week.
All in all the hotel was good. Good atmosphere for young groups but also child friendly as some families arrived towards the end of the week (not too rowdy!).
I had a brilliant week although for my next visit to Magaluf I’ll look for somewhere a bit more livelier.
" Stayed at these apartments in March... "
Submitted By: Mr N SchofieldWe spent a week there before we went to our new battalions. The week was great apart from the odd ignorant person that could tell we were soldiers etc.
When we first arrived we got warned by the rep that the staff accept no messing around and that we would be removed if we caused trouble. I just laughed as we were there to relax and wind down from all the training.
There are plenty of bars near the apartment that are all very friendly, however its quite a steep walk back so it’s hard work if you have drunk a few too many sangrias.
I found that we spent more time out of the apartments than in and Magaluf definitely has lots to offer people from all age groups. We went to the aqua park twice and just loved it.
I would go back but think it will be a few years before I next go back as I have operational duties but a thumbs up to Magaluf.

Submitted By: Mrs D KnowlesWhat lovely accommodation, the pool area is clean with plenty of sun beds, not that we needed them the whole time as it rained quite a lot!
The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The only bit that was a bit rough on your legs was the steep hill that the apartments are situated on; not very nice to walk down when it is wet.
The pubs and restaurants are only a five minute walk away with plenty of choice, not many were open on our visit as it was still early on in the season and the rain put people off from venturing too far.
There are a lot of Scandinavians stay in the apartments, some of them very loud and not wanting to go to bed!
We have been to Magaluf before in high season and it is very overpowering, so maybe April-May is an ideal time to visit, hoping the weather is nice though!

Submitted By: englandschoiceThe hotel was superb, price was very very cheap, while we were there they were busy restoring the outdoor area with a large pool and bbq area. The rooms were very tidy and spacious, nice balcony with a great view as well. The rooms had a full kitchen, fridge TV and superb bathroom.
The main bar and catering facilities downstairs are very respectable and reasonably priced too. I would recommend the vista sol to anyone wanting an affordable but high quality place to stay.

Submitted By: Miss C DonaldsonAll in all I could not fault the apartments for anything else but we were a group of 8 mixed age's from 20-45 wanting to go for a lively week but we got wrong for everything.
Do not go to the sol vista unless you are old or like to be in bed by 10pm cause if you want to play music while getting ready or you come in drunk you just get constant grief!!
The apartments are at the very top of the steep hill not to far to the bars etc but the area is not very well lit and a group of Spanish on motorbikes followed us up the hill one night thinking we were drunk and tried to pinch 3 of our bags by driving past really fast past us and ripping them off your arm.
They got one of them and when we told the hotel they did not care as we were English. They were not helpful at all then when we spoke to the only other group of English in the hotel they also the night before had a bag stolen from the same people.
I have been going to Magaluf every year for 5 years and I will be going back to the Martinique apartments which are great for young and lively.

Submitted By: nacker1Lots of mixed age groups mingled up and down the hill, and there were loads of bars showing English football as well as Peter Kay and repeats of Only Fools and Horses
You do get badgered a lot by people trying to get you into their bars, but just say no and you will be ok
We traveled around the island a bit and went to the lovely beach of Alcudia as well as marineland which is a smaller version of sea world. If you are really gambling mad, there is quite a nice casino, but they do charge to get in, though the drinks are reasonable.
BEST BAR IN MAGALLUF MUST BE MULLIGANS.

The main entrance/exit is at the top of a very steep hill although it’s only about 20meters long, there are stairs that take you from the pool right out at Chaplins pub but the gate is closed at night. Located seconds from the strip and about 2 minutes from the beach!

It was a bit quiet in October with a few groups of British people (and a mad hen party from Falkirk) but mainly Scandinavians, the pubs were still open and the resort was buzzing. Going back in June!

Situated for easy access for either Palmanova beach or Magalluf beach. Straight out of steps by the pool and you are in the centre of Magallufs nightlife, unfortunately this access is closed for 10.30 p.m. so coming home so you need to go round block and up a hill. Food is good value and nice round the pool bar.

Hotel will also order you a private transfer bus back to the airport at around 7 euros each. Good sized pool small kids pool. Never seemed to be any kids there whenever we’ve stayed there seems more of an adult’s type of aparthotel. Only noticed a few singers on as entertainment on a night.

Best way to book is by Solmelias own website. If you register you accumulate points to use in the future. Lots of other nationalities in hotel and hotel staff are okay and helpful. Will stay here again.

Hotel is in a great location next to the strip but it was rough as a bag of nails!
