La Luna 1 and La Luna 2, both ran by the same family and both very clean. Please don't get mixed up with the othe La Luna people are talking about, that clearly is not up to the same standard. I have stayed at La Luna (the real one) 3 times now and simply can not fault it.... more

Advertised as 2 star. Theres 2 star where everthing works and is clean and theres 2 star where things dont work and is grubby, definitely the latter. There is no air conditioning, not even to hire. You can hire a fan for 25 Euros a week. The shower room is 5ft by 4ft and in... more

Arrived with my partner at 01:00, had no rep on bus and we were dumped off at the bar outside la luna called cheeky monkey. I showed my ticket to the bar man who was sleezy and drunk and he said "pool?" "We don't have a pool" (as it stated on my ticket we had a pool and was... more

Our second time at La Luna. It's a great place, you're made to feel welcome-part of the family. Yiorgos is a fantastic host, who will go out of his way to make you comfortable. Alot af the guests are return visitors, and after staying there myself i understand why. Even if... more

I've been to Stalis many times during the last 15 years, staying at various appartments throught the summer months May to October, but I've always popped into La Luna to see the ever expanding family, they in turn have watched my sons grow up. When my boys were young (6&7)... more

14 days of pure magic
La luna, La luna , La luna. been going same time of year for the past 6 years, meeting wonderful friends & new people all the time. Everyone mixes (wonder if Thoxis as finally learned "the white rose of Athens" yet,) the entire family are outstanding nothing is too much trouble for them, all they want is for you to enjoy your stay . Karaoke, Greek dancing, the food, the DRINKING, any excuse for a party. English,Scots, Irish, Welsh, Man u, Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal, even Leeds supporters have been known to hug each other.(exception Celtic ,Rangers) in late september this year IT'S PARTY TIME bring it on........ Home from Home
I had read all the good reviews about La Luna before going and can only say that it was even better than what I had read. George and his family made us feel so welcomed and nothing was to much trouble for them. We were invited to join the family for a meal one night (free of charge) and had a great time singing on the karaoke. If you go to Stallis you must stay at La Luna. The whole family came to wave us off when we left and we all had tears in our eyes on leaving. We will definately go back to La Luna (the sooner the better). The Welsh Girls
Lalunatics on tour 06
Its our 2nd time at la Luna, we came last year and met some great friends, we met up again this june which was fab. The owners/family are very nice people, you could not ask for better host, the BBQ nights are great fun with foxys singing and georges dancing to the clash !! only joking. Close to the centre with bars and resturants and the pool bar is fantastic to finish the night off. we were pleased to see that they have started doing breakfast, just what you need after a long night drinking-mmm the pool area is very clean and tidy, the rooms are very nice. hot Skiathos
Lovely apartments, extremely clean, but extremely basic. Went with friend and had a good relaxing holiday. Very hot. The area as a whole is hilly and the drive to the hotel is no exception. We ate at Green Mountain restaurant and Nectar - both of which we highly recommend. Hire a jeep and make sure you go to the north in the hills.
La Lunatics
Have now been going to La luna for 4 years and it can not be stated than anything else but the best, we have made some fantastic friends and the owners /family are the most welcoming and friendly people you could ever meet. The rooms are well maintained and spotless with all equipment supplied eg fridge, kettle etc. Maid cleans every day and even tidies up after the kids( cant be bad). Pool is superb and cleaned x2 per day, free sun beds are plentifull, you could not wish for a better holiday for families and couples. Nightlife can not be faulted few nightclubs and loads of all night drinking. Mills family
our second home
me and my partner have stayed at this hotel twice now and are hopeing to go back this year. The rooms are very clean and offer a lot of space especially no 30 pool is spacious and have a lot of sunbeds, gets busy sumtimes depending what time of the year you go. Geaorge the owner is probably the most friendly person you will ever meet and as for Thoxis he just makes you laugh and laugh all day and night On our first visit me and my partner got taken out by the owners for a greek meal which was aboustly fab, free drinks free meal free transport what more can you ask for on our second visit belive it or not we got invited to a greek christening which was out of this world. one thing i have to warn you about is Georges driving he drives very fast lol and stay off the raki which u get regulary free in the bar as you do with a lot of drinks after saying that Apart from that you will not stay in a better and more friendly hotel in the world p.s i can wait to go back later this year
Hotel for our mad holiday!!!
Apartments were nice and clean, (in fact the maid kept tidying ouor things away for us!!!), pool was good, owners were friendly, food nice...Some road noise but we were so drunk everynight we hardly noticed!!! Only takes a few minutes to walk to the beach and all the bars. The owners are locals so have really good local knowledge and saved us a fortune on the organized trips suggested by our touor operator Libra!!! The only downside was that as it is a small place everyone knows all the guests and you cant sneak any boys past reception!!!! We werent allowed any "visitors" in our rooms even during the day!!! Never mind! Was an excellent holiday, weather was alright but it was overcast on a few days. Would recommend visiting all parts of the island as the temperature varies a lot in different areas!!!! Also, the water is solar powered so in 7 days, we and all the other guests only got warm water once!!!!
Not the same La Luna, be careful!
There are a few apartments called La Luna in Stalida, Crete. Myself and my daughter went there with T.U.I. in 2003, accommodation on arrival. The La Luna we stayed in was at the Malia end of Stalida, in an excellent location. The apartments were spotless, as were all facilities. We had full use of the large pool and free sunbeds and facilities of the neighbouring hotel. Full breakfast is available at La Luna all day, for 3 euros, also bar snacks and light meals. The staff are excellent, and we return each year to say hello to them. The owner is called Nicos, and he will go out of his way to please his guests, nothing is too much trouble. Totally laid back atmosphere and everyone happy.
Stay away from No 13 Unlucky for some!!!
Returned on 10th May from one week stay at above property. Pool area excellent, reception/bar area welcoming with friendly staff - there the story ends! No. 13 is a ground floor studio with no outlook. Extractor fan greasy & not working: electric kettle dirty(good job we had our own):one plate between 3 people: electric hob with pilot light not working: noisy frig with large rust spots on door & freezer compartment door which fell off when main door opened; food prep surface a sawn-off piece of worktop placed on frig. Leaking toilet cistern which ensured permanently wet bathroom floor: dripping shower taps: mould under shelf & on shower curtain rings- although no shower curtain: lack of warm water, little or no hot water. Extremely limited drawer space in living area with bed only about 35cm. high. Tendency for road noise otherwise good location close to beach restaurants & bars. Weather super so we made the best of it.
Highly recommended - Excellent
These apartments are fantastic and in an excellent location - close enough to beach and nightlife but without the noise. Very clean. Nice pool. The family who own and run them are brilliant - really friendly and helpful. Have been twice and going again this year, and next. Thoxis and George are great. The BBQ/Greek Night is a definite must - gorgeous food and an entertaining evening for all ages. Love it.
