La Luna 1 and La Luna 2, both ran by the same family and both very clean. Please don't get mixed up with the othe La Luna people are talking about, that clearly is not up to the same standard.
I have stayed at La Luna (the real one) 3 times now and simply can not fault it. Ran by George and family.
The barman thoxis is a star, the rooms are spacious and tidy, the bar is friendly, the pool area is family friendly and very clean, the bbq's are tremendous, nothing is a trouble to the family that run this very clean and welcoming hotel.
I will deffinately go again, many times. this is Greek hospitality at its best.

been several times appartments basic but very clean. yorgis and his family make you very welcome Its a safe place for kids.My kids would not come out through the day just wanted to stay by the pool i use to leave them because i knew it was safe to leave them there.

THis place is truly amazing
dont get it mixed up with the olympic run hotel as this is ran by libra holidays.Just situated off the main road it is in the perfect place to relax in the day and just across the road to all the bars and restaurants at night.The people who work here are the friendliest people you will ever meet and that is why we will definately be returning next year. The rooms and thoughly cleaned everyday and sheets and towels changed a lot.The poolside is clean and enough sunbeds, although the beahc is a 10 minute walk and this is fabulous as there are plenty of bars offering sunbeds for 4 euro with a free drink and much more.All the family are amazing little karissa and her mum n dad.And of course george and doxis :)they made it friendly and the bar was lively at night.BBQ's are very good they are FREE and amazing food :)snacks and drinks at the bar are reasonable too.
Stalis its self is perfect.go to kaliana restaurant the best food in the resort and the kaliana bar opposite is great with cheap drinks and great entertainment like the dopey buggers quiz and bingo and pool competitions.
Malia is only 5 mins in a taxi aswell if you want a hectic night but stalis is lively enough with a number of young bars and small clubs on the beach.
LOVED it here
and would defienately recommend it to anyone who is looking to go to stalis :D

Advertised as 2 star. Theres 2 star where everthing works and is clean and theres 2 star where things dont work and is grubby, definitely the latter. There is no air conditioning, not even to hire. You can hire a fan for 25 Euros a week. The shower room is 5ft by 4ft and in that is a toilet, wash basin and shower. Greeted by cockroach inside the light fitting on the wall. The towels were dirty, the freezer door broken, the taps leaking under the sink so floor wet constantly, three out of the four light switches did not work to the cooking area, the main room and who knows what the third one was supposed to turn on,we asked for clean towels on arrival on Tuesday, they came on Saturday, nothing got done about the other issues. Cutlery was minimal and there was a rusty cheese grater, still with cheese on. The pool use next door at the Pela Sofia was excellent,staff were brilliant, although the music played there occasionally had foul language in it not suitable for children. I gave the La Luna a 3 rating as it was central for everything.

I am only writing this after reading some bad reports, then I clicked there is 2 La luna apts, which are La Luna1 and La luna2 run by Yorgis and his family. Tour operator is Libra no one complains about that one ( I have been 5 times) Sept 15 will be the sixth can't wait.
The other La Luna is run by Olympic tour operator.
Please don't get them mixed up. Yorgis (George to his friends) is one of the most sincere persons you will ever meet as the rest of his family are.
You will find nearly every one who goes there are returning holidaymakers as we are.

Arrived with my partner at 01:00, had no rep on bus and we were dumped off at the bar outside la luna called cheeky monkey. I showed my ticket to the bar man who was sleezy and drunk and he said "pool?" "We don't have a pool" (as it stated on my ticket we had a pool and was told by olympic). At this point I was alreadly confused, then he brought us to room which was very basic with no fan. I thought we would meet the owner the next day but never did on till the last night of our holiday! So we never got safe key or fan!!
The cleaners were the one good thing but started to slack more and more as the holiday progressed. The came every other day at the beginning and then they didn't come for four days.
The rep told us to get our complementary drink at the bar, but the bar man ended up asking us for 10 euro after saying they were "on the house." His name is Orlando, do NOT trust him. Many others had similar experiences!
Location was excellent apart from noise. I got amazing ear plugs that blocked it out so that worked a treat.
I know this may be hard to believe, but I did have an excellent holiday. We did loads of day trips and avoided the appartment (just spelt there). Stalis is great for couples and families. Would recommend Stalis to anyone but not La Luna. The hotel next door was much better who let us leave our cases there on the last day free of charge and also had an exellent pool which we used.

hi having been to la luna fothe last 12yrs we never get bored of going to the same place year after year.the reason bieng is we always fid some thing new to do or somewhere new to go.crete is a very beautifull island some of the scenery is the best you could see.as for la luna it gets better every year.the owners are the most wonderfull people you could wish to meet.nothing is aproblem to them.you are always made very welcome no matter who you are.thoxis the barman come cabaret singer(ha ha)is always cheerfull and tell some great storys if he is not to busy even julia the cleaner is a good laugh.b.b.qs on a sunday are a must if anyone has not tried it.bills chicken and pork steaks are out of this world and mother sulas oven done potatoes and home grown salads are a treat ican imagine the taste now just thinking about it.one thing dont give up day job thoxis you havent quite mastered delilha yet keep on practising.yiorgos does a great job helping at the bar when thoxis is having a break or off duty bring on the clayva.elenie yiorgos good lady is a knockout with english breakfasts;yiorgos will have to learn to cook cos there is going to be a new arrivalcome july or august ;congratulations to both of yous.one person we wont be seeing again due to his sudden death is yiorgos pal manos who saddley passed away in november.our regaurds to his family and friends.well after that sad news i will close now and cant wait for may to go back and see everyone again.yiammas.m.lamb .sunderland

Our second time at La Luna. It's a great place, you're made to feel welcome-part of the family. Yiorgos is a fantastic host, who will go out of his way to make you comfortable. Alot af the guests are return visitors, and after staying there myself i understand why. Even if you don't want to mix you should make the effort and go to one of the Sunday BBQs....Thoxis i'll say no more.
Great taste in music as well--Viva Joe Strummer!!

Just back from Stalis 4th September, our first time to crete, had a great holiday found the people all very friendly, apartment basic but clean ,pool area is lovely,no mad panic for sunbeds !!! all in all would have no hesitation in going back just loved Stalis and La Luna was dead handy to everything. Of course the weather made all the difference was lovely to wake up to the sun and blue sky instead of the miserable rain. Wish we could've stayed longer.
