La Luna Studios & Apartments

Hi, I just can’t believe there are some people who thought la luna is rubbish. Get some sense about you it’s fantastic. I’ve been 10 times and am going again this year.
Yorgos, Thoxis, Nikos, Hellini, Vacillis and Chrisula are all brilliant.. All round fantastic apartments, town, beach, restaurants and people.
Look forward to seeing anyone who I know when I go back in July. If you are a young group who want a kicking time partying drinking and dancing GO MALIA NOT STALIS!

This was our ninth year at La Luna but it was a bit different for my wife and I this year. First time without our children. They really are too old to come with us now. Also it was the first time that we'd gone other than in August.
The apartments were up to their usual very high standards. The bathrooms have all been modernized in keeping to the La Luna standard.
The Salavantakis family were their usual fantastic selves. Saw less of Vacillis than usual, Chrisula was very busy putting on a number of free BBQ's. Yorgos and Thoxis appeared never to sleep as they were so busy looking after all 'their guests'. Nicos helped out as only he can.
Unfortunately the tour operators are putting more young singles into this family orientated accommodation. Their behaviour on the flight, in and around the resort and at times in the apartments did not do themselves or our country proud. Yorgos and Thoxis did their utmost to prevent this from affecting the family atmosphere.
Over all yet another 10/10 for La Luna.
We also spent a week in early October 2006 at La Luna. The weather was at times very wet but we still got a tan and had a fantastic time.
The only problem we now have is when to go to La Luna in 2007.
Yes Thoxis can't sing but that’s a great part of the fun. He is without a doubt ' The Undefeated Heavyweight Champion of the World'.

I spent a week at La luna with my good friend and we had a fantastic holiday, thanks mainly to the people at our hotel and the locals.
Thoxis, Nikos, George and family were such nice people, very welcoming, friendly and ran the hotel with a very laid back, stress-free attitude which gave off a very positive relaxing atmosphere for everyone.
Our apartment was clean with plenty of room, sheets were changed and rooms cleaned constantly and we had a good view of Stalis from our balcony. The pool area was fantastic, cleaned every night and maintained to a very high standard.
The hotel itself was situated within a 2 minute walk to the bars/clubs and restaurants in Stalis but far enough away to not be disturbed by noise at night, There is some traffic noise from the main road at night but never seen as a problem by us. With Malia a 30 minute walk or 5 minute taxi ride away as well for the more lively crowds; there is something for every age.
The beach is visible from the hotel and again literally a couple of minutes walk. With warm clear water, sandy beaches, water sports and refreshments always available the only thing you need to remember is plenty of sun cream as we found out to our cost!
A definite return destination for us next year.

Hello again just returned from 2 weeks at laluna. What else can I say very enjoyable holiday as usual. When we arrived it was yiorgos birthday, he and his parents invited everyone to the BBQ on Sunday night all the food was free.
Thoxis had his usual attempt at singing on karaoke {nightmare} don’t give up your day job. Most of the bathrooms and toilets have been renewed and new windows and tiling. Yiogos had spent all year after season and finished doing all the work himself and a good job he has made of it. Most rooms now have air conditioning which is a very good idea as this year temperatures reached over 40 degrees.
I’m looking forward to next year already.

This was our first time staying in Stalis. We really enjoyed the holiday but we were in Malia every night so we didn’t get to see Stalis that much.
The hotel was nice and the room was big, we had 2 balconies! It was clean, the cleaner even arranged our bags into a nice pile and folded up our clothes. The shower didn’t have a shower curtain so the bathroom got a bit wet but apart from that it was fine! The food was lovely and we would definitely recommend the full English brekkie or bacon butty from the bar.
The problem was we were a bit too loud for this type of accommodation so we would not recommend this hotel for younger people looking for a lively holiday as u will get moaned at by the cleaner and a letter under your door telling you to keep the noise down (oops ...)
Another thing was that we were woken up by goats (with bells around their necks) coming down the mountain next to our room at about 8 o’clock every morning.
La Luna are well looked after apartments and the family are friendly (except for the cleaner who moaned at us for playing Madonna on our CD player ha-ha)

Have been to La Luna for the last 4 years and joined the 'La Lunatics. The owners are the best people you could ever meet and make you feel so welcome. Rooms are basic but have everything you need, fridge, kettle, cooker etc, rooms are cleaned every day (even tidy up after the kids) can’t be bad.
The pool is superb and George cleans his pride and joy x2 per day. This is a fantastic holiday for families and couples and every person we have met returns time after time.

Hi again, just to update you that we returned to La Luna again July for 2 week.
Syiorgos, Nikos, Thoxis and all the family made us quite welcome as always. Weather was perfect we spent one day out exploring parts of Crete that we would never go to if Yiorgos and his girlfriend Ellanie had not came along with us.
Scenery and sights were stunning. I would recommend any one to hire a jeep and just head off into the mountains fantastic don’t forget to take your cameras. we came back in October for a week Stalis and La Luna was very quiet that time of year as it was last week of season but still enjoyed our time their.
Booked up for July 2006 happy days. So to all of you who haven’t been to Stalis, give it a try you wont be disappointed. Looking forward to seeing every one at La Luna soon. Yassoo.

Stayed here for 2 weeks the apartments were very clean and spacious plenty hot water for showers. The family that own it are great so is all the staff The only downside was the weather.
The resort of Stalis is busy, plenty places to eat. Malia would suit the younger generation? Would definitely go back ,met lots of nice people who go there year after year.

Our holiday in Crete was excellent due to the lovely apartment, friendly staff and good nightlife. This was our 3rd time visiting La Luna and will not be our last!
We will be back next year to see George, Thoxis, Nicos and the rest of the family working at La Luna. We had a meal cooked for us when leaving Crete and it was very nice. The pool area was clean and tidy, and we have no complaints at all about La Luna.
We really enjoyed our time and we thank all the people in Greece who made our holiday so special. 10/10 La Luna cya next year Stalis !!! And a tip for anyone going to Stalis get yourselves to Bar Bliss !!!

Excellent pool area, welcoming bar/reception area, friendly staff. There the good points end!
Allocated studio No.13 on the ground floor.
This was first week of new season but studio did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned since the end of last season!
Greasy extractor fan unit which did not work: dirty electric kettle: pilot light on portable electric one ring hob not working: handle broken from frying pan: noisy frig. with rust along bottom of door & broken freezer section door.
Leaking toilet cistern ensuring permanently wet bathroom floor: dripping shower & taps: mould underneath bathroom shelf & on shower curtain rings - no shower curtain: no hot water & very little warm water.
Lack of drawer space: cleaning 5 mins/day
Made the most of good weather, restaurants, bars & location.
