Me and my boyfriend. Loved it. Great place for relaxing but also lots of things to do!!! We spent 2 weeks there. it was very warm (about 26 through day, 21 on a night)
The apartement was VERY basic but clean and spacious. We ate out everynight.(hardly any kitchen equipement) The resteraunt on the nearby beach was delicious, went there 3 times. Try the steak for 2. 30 euros for half a cow, chips, and three different sauces. Staff are lovely and very helpful.
Trips-
1) we went on the flipper uno for 3 hours (big pirate boat, whale and dolphin watching 60 euros for 2) they took us out from the coast. lovely view inland. view of other canary islands. then saw plenty of whales and dolphins. then to a different beach on the coast where the water was very warm. they had a swing on the boat that you swung out on into the sea. VERY SALTY. they fed us chicken paella and beer, wine, peach snaps and fizzy pop (ALL FREE!!!)
2) went to mount teide, very interesting. English speaking tour guide, learnt about history of tenerife and water and electric systems. learnt about wildlife and vegetation. gets colder as you go up!!!
3) LORO PARQUE!!! wow it was the best zoo ive ever been to. dolphin, whale, and sealions shows. fish, birds, monkeys, everything. very cheap price as well. went on the bus.
Buses run all day every 20/40 mins to all major places and all small villages.
We tried pretty much every cafe and resteraunt in los gigantes and not 1 was bad. very good prices and very good food.
Very nice place. absolutley loved it.

although the appartments are very basic and could do with an update, they are clean and make a good holiday base.
the staff are helpfull and friendly, cleaners came in and changed towels reg.
the small beach is nearby, its lovely for the kids as its small and safe, lovely veiws
the lido nearby is pretty , the kids ,loved it and staff are friendly, although we preffered to go to the oasis pool nearby which was lovely, great veiws and warmer!
theres not much night entertainment nearby but nice bars and restraunts like little italy, paddys.
los gigantes itself is a lovely quiet place perfect for a relaxing holiday, we enjoyed our stay

Location excellent. Lots of really good restaurants to suit all budgets in the village - which is just as well because the kitchen equipment in the apartments was very, very basic. We were woken by the refuse collectors at midnight every night, right outside our apartment. The furnishings were very basic, beds uncomfortably hard, likewise the settee in the living room. The apartment was a good size with a nice balcony. The local Oasis swimming pool complex was much better than the free one adjacent to the apartment - worth paying a couple of euros extra for the Oasis.

Its ok......
we stayed these apartments for 2 weeks, self catering. This was our second year at these apartments but our first time travelling alone with my boyfriend.
It was an ok... holiday! there is not much to do for teenagers and young adults as their is no entertainment programme and there is only so long you can sit in the local paddy's bar! although it is fantastic with vanessa vigra a must see!
The life guard is really not good! he says you cant have balls or floats in the pool, but spanish people can! WHAT! enough said!
The apartments are huge espically for just the two of us! we had a pet frank the pigeon! if you dont like birds like me dont throw food for them millions come from no where! its awful!
The apartments had the basic essentials and the cooking equipment was very very very basic!
The pizzeria at the habour is a must and the flipper uno is a definate!

We have just returned from the Poblado Marinero apartments, yesterday to be precise. I have to say it was the best holiday I have had for years.
We have 2 children one age 4 the other age 12. They loved the resort, especially the lido; the staff were great, very polite, and helpful.
You could take inflatable’s of 75cm or smaller in along with those woggle things that I loved because I am a very weak swimmer so I just floated and pottered around whilst my husband had one child in one ring, chasing the other in the deep part of the pool.
You cannot take balls in to play with I would have thought for obvious reasons, but there were lots of happy children and adults pottering around the pool.
The lagoon was also fantastic, even I got in there when I didn't feel out of my depth (with my woggle of course) the fish were amazing black with neon blue down the sides and the most amazing crabs I have ever seen.
My daughter spent hour’s snorkelling and my son sat in his rubber ring and enjoyed being taken around the whole lagoon watching the fish.
Our apartment (375) was clean, (maids came every other day) tidy but a little tired. view was magnificent in all directions.
Please go to see Carlos at Monique’s bar he is the nicest man you could wish to meet, fantastic with children. He ended up getting taxi's for 12 of us to a tiny restaurant in the middle of nowhere where we had the most amazing, simple Canarian food.
Harbour Lites was great too; Jason is like Peter Kaye so funny the kids loved him. The Chinese restaurant at the top of the hill next door to the sports club was great, good food spectacular decor inside and very reasonably priced.
Also Jessi's on beach was a lovely meal.
We went to see the dolphins on the ocean explorer and can well recommend it. Loro Park and Jungle Park are well worth a visit.
We visited Mount Teide the day of the forest fire which was so scary on the way home driving through orange skies and thick black smoke with ash falling on the car.
Don't bother with Los Cristianos as it's so tacky and busy full of time share touts and people saying we are a travel agent you have won a prize etc etc only to find out they want mega money out of you!! be on your guard.
Adeje is worth a visit too, but Las Americas is also very busy not as tacky as Los Cristianos, we found a lovely part of the beach but the people in the shops try to pounce on you as you walk by.
Stick to Los Gigantes, especially Monique’s and Carlos, Rapha owns it and he is such a nice man, very helpful and attentive.
The Thomson rep was really nonexistent, pleasant on the welcome meeting but as for the rest of the time we never saw her. Staff at reception are really nice.
When we go next I think we will book independently, as the other problem was walking up the big hill to get to Little Italy to catch the coach, as apparently they couldn't get to the harbour!! We were also dropped off there at the start of the holiday and given the most basic map to get us to the apartments, we ended up on the harbour, and Rachel (the Ocean Explorer rep) took pity on us and told us exactly where to go.
Overall I can well recommend Los Gigantes. I am just looking to book for next year already.

We have been booking direct with these apartments for the past 6 years.
Previously we booked for 2 years with a travel agent; on our 2nd year we arrived to find we had been booked into the Hotel Los Gigantes!
The very wonderful staff (not tour rep) sorted this out for us and we have booked direct ever since.
Our room is cleaned every day (except Sunday) and we have clean towels every day and linen 3 times per week.
As we book direct with the reservation manager, we also get a complimentary bottle of wine and a bouquet of flowers on arrival. The rest of the resort speaks for its self!!
It’s enough to say we return twice a year and will continue to do so!!

We have visited the Poblado Marinero apartments a few times now and each time is as enjoyable as the last.
We have two young children 2 and 5 and they thoroughly enjoyed the stay as well. As there is limited things for children to do activity wise, you, the parents have to make the entertainment for them.
Neither of the boys got bored as they were busy all the time either in the Oasis pool and recreational area or the lido just across from the apartments, also the beach is only 100 yards from the complex.
If you can find the time to have a walk, Crab island is a 20 minute walk, plenty of exploring in the "live" pool for the kids to do there. And of course, plenty of excursions on offer... Kids will get bored if you tend to sit in bars all day.
The apartments are in the region of 15 to 20 years old I would hazard a guess and the Thomson owned ones are kitted out ok for self catering, but are looking a bit tired and could do with a refurb.
The location is fantastic as long as you’re fairly mobile, as you’ll be staying right on the harbour at the bottom of a steep hill that leads back into the village. Not overly recommended for the elderly or infirm.
The restaurants and bars around the complex are easily accessible and you’ll find the local food is fantastic. I highly recommend Jessis Restaurant overlooking the beach. Also Monique’s bar on the harbours front, if you have young kids they'll be well entertained by Carlos, great fella.
Overall... If you’re fairly fit, can entertain kids (if you have any), enjoy taking it easy, don’t like the busy noisy resorts, then this is the place for you.
I viewed a couple of privately owned ones and will book one of them on our next visit later on this year via a local English lady who lets them out for the owners. Infact, I may consider buying one of the apartments that are for sale.

We have just returned from a delightful week in Los Gigantes.
The Poblado Marinero apartments, although old & shabby internally are very clean and well serviced every other day.
They have full cooking facilities so if like us you like to buy local produce and cook at home once or twice during your stay, it is made very easy with a full size cooker & fridge freezer.
However the local restaurants are superb and reasonable. We particularly recommend the Jardin restaurant, close to the Church, the staff were a bit sleepy but the food was excellent.
The apartment complex was very pretty & peaceful and the reception staff helpful.
However the pool staff not so, they were very officious and there are very strict rules regarding inflatable’s in the pool and kids playing around the pool no balls etc.
However, for my daughter the highlight was the rock pool behind the lido. Swimming with fish & seeing the crabs on the rocks was a unique experience for her.
Can also recommend the 'first class' boat trip for seeing dolphins etc.

We went 2 the apartments and stayed there 4 a week! The apartments were ok a bit old! The reception staff were very rude and un helpful!
The rooms were dark n dingy not much light, the cleaners didn’t put clean sheets on just made then beds, not much to do in the apartments it said in the brochure, a family holiday but it wasn’t it was elderly people and no children!
Only one good bar in the town and that was the highland paddy 3 was the best part of the holiday loved the barman wesley, the entertainment was brilliant in there would definitely go back 2 that bar!!! If any one goes there tell Wesley (wes) that emily n leonie say hi 'ayo wessss' he is the best barman eva!!!
Richardsons is a really good place 2 eat nice food and friendly staff!
In the apartments they need 2 put more colour in them and a bit more up 2 date!! The pool was nice but freezing and the kids didn’t want 2 go in as it was soo cold!!! There wasn’t much for the kids 2 do they were moaning they was bored!
It’s a good place 2 go for a quiet holiday for the elderly!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and found the apartments were clean and tidy and extremely large!
We booked this holiday as an allocation on arrival so where amazed to be given an apartment with a sea, marina and pool view.
The night life is quiet with a couple of lively bars, our favourite being Highland Laddie III.
There are plenty of boat trips available from the marina; we would recommend the excursion where you are able to see the dolphins.

I stayed with my family in one of the apartments. The scenery was beautiful and the actual apartment was great. We had lots of room, the beds where comfy and it was really clean. I would recommend staying in an apartment which has a view of the sea as it is one of the best views you can get and you can listen to the waves while on the balcony.
I really enjoyed staying in Poblado Marinero and we are already thinking about visiting there again!
