The Los Gigantes Hotel is a nice place with just a few little niggles. It is very comfortable and has plenty of areas to relax including a first floor terrace, gardens and so on. The indoor lounges are very pleasant with lots of deep sofas and chairs.
Generally speaking the staff are very good although the waiters in the restaurant can be over-zealous in clearing away. The odd one or two are very sullen as well. It should be noted that the restaurant Manager - Snr Tomas - shakes hands with all male guests in the evening and kisses the female ones, and there is nothing wrong with that. The real problem with the restaurant is that it is only just big enough and there can be queues. As for food quality and choice, it is excellent with a least ten choices of main course for dinner. During our stay the clientele was 100% British and mostly over 60 which did make for some interesting observations in the restaurant!
The bedrooms are large but drab. They are very clean and well-serviced but do lack colour.
Our one big gripe was that the management allows people to put towels on sunbeds to reserve them in the mornings and this is rather sad.
It is fair to say that the hotel has everything anyone could want and that it is scrupulously clean. The views from the back or the front of the hotel are excellent.
The hotel staff will book a car for you (and a car is well worthwhile for a couple of days) but it is much cheaper to book one in the nearby shops.
The main square is just across the road from the Los Gigantes Hotel and there is a first-class bar called Highland Paddy 3 which has superb entertainment plus live football for those who need it. It must be said that the entertainment in the hotel is staid although there was a very talented male opera singer one evening. Mostly, though, it is a pretty timid affair.
Los Gigantes is a pleasant and well-kept town although the steep hills may preclude those who are less able. The marina is very pleasant and offers a variety of boat trips of varying durations and prices. We didn't see any timeshare or holiday club touts in the town. If you don't fancy staying in the hotel in the evenings there are scores of bars and restaurants nearby.
If you get the chance to go out and about the village of Masca should not be missed and also the forests and foothills of Mount Teide.
All in all this was a good holiday in pleasant surroundings.

Thomson Gold hotel which only takes over 16s. A popular hotel with many of the guests returning year after year. The winter guests tend to be the retired, but the summer population is more mixed age wise. Excellent food and staff service which cater for vegetarians very well. Sun decks very sunny and quiet though unfortunately they allow smoking. Located in a quiet resort with dramatic views of the cliffs.
Can be a little too quiet at times so hiring a car to view the rest of the Island is a good idea. Don’t come here if you like a lively resort, there is plenty to do but it is relaxed and very different to the resorts further south. The weather is usually good throughout the year.

I have just returned from holidaying at this lovely hotel, and can highly recommend it if you need a nice relaxing holiday.
The hotel is very well cared for and the staff are very attentive, including the hotel manager who is always around keeping an eye on every small detail. The food is very well presented and of exceptional quality and choice. Be prepared to gain weight!
I will definitely be returning to this hotel.

Los Gigantes Hotel is a high quality place for the over 40s. My Husband and I went there last year for our Holiday.
The food is excellent and plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and good at their jobs, indeed nothing seems too much trouble for them. There were no children, as this is a Thomson Gold Hotel.
There is always entertainment at night and some of it is excellent. Plenty to do during the day including talks on the local sea life which we found very interesting,
The rooms are comfortable, very clean and spacious. My only minor complaint is that I think some of the bathrooms could do with a small face lift as the tiles and decoration looked a bit tired. The two pools were well kept.
The hotel actually deserves a walk around as there are that many lounges, games rooms, Large TV Room and quiet rooms to go when you’re fed up with your own. It is an older well cared for hotel. We will definitely be visiting again. If you want noise & late nights then give this one a miss. Otherwise it lovely.

Fabulous hotel. Staff wonderful. All our requests were met within minutes. Rooms very spacious, does not matter if you are sea view or as we were overlooking the resort and the mountain (spectacular).
Entertainment was some of the best we had experienced, apart from the reps shows. Not much to do for 2 weeks in Los Gigantes but we were there just to relax. The only moan l have is that it should state in the brochure that the average age is over 70 in the winter and people return year after year so it is a bit "clicky".
The local duo cocktail were excellent for dancing in the evening. All in all, a good 2 weeks holiday.
