" return visit "

we had stayed at the reveron back in feb 09 and loved it. very clean, great staff, fully equipped s/c apt,in june we had a few days hols, weather at home typically awful so booked last minute to reveron, just 4 days, receptionist recognised us and was pleased we had chosen to return. on our second day returned to the apt to find a bottle of wine and a welcome back message, going back for a week in november, with the local bars being of an excellent selection and the great standards at the reveron it seems the correct choice cant wait

Advice: cant say enough abou the place excellent holiday location

Activities: harveys bar oyster catcher and charlies all great for food and the boat trip to see the dolphins fab

" 1 Week at the Reveron Apartments "

We stayed at Reveron Apartments for 1 week.
It was very clean, the maids were lovely they cleaned the apartment most days. We found all the staff very helpfull. We enjoyed the views from the roof top swimming pool. There's a short walk down to the beach around 5mins, the walk back up is hard when it's hot though, we found ourselves walking down to the beach around 7pm and coming home around 10pm ish, that was when we didn't go on the beach to sunbath. We had no insect bites!!
We Went whale & Dolphin watching, which was amazing to see! 18 euros each for 2hours - glass floor, great experience. (not for those who get sea sick!)
We usually ate at Taylor's Lounge which was great for food - all english, lovely and very friendly bar staff. (That bar was across the road and up a little bit.) Very resonable priced food and drinks! We became regulars there!
The down side to Reveron apartment is that there is no air-con you have to hire a fan, which is 15 euros then 10 euros deposit, even then the fan wasn't great as it was 30oc during the night!
The tv had two channels - one being spanish and the other BBC News 24/7.
There wasn't much to do at the apartment for children so we wouldn't recomend bringing children! The pool is nice but its around 2m deep (no shollow end) and quite small.
There all lots of men/women walking round selling you things e.g watches, sun glasses, but they come into places where you eat and drink and sometimes are rather forceful which is anoying!
The walls must be very thin too, as we were kept up most nights from people coming back from nights out etc you could hear everything!
Over all we will be coming back to Tenerife as we have family over there, but we'll be reconcidering Reveron Apartments.

Advice: Nice place to visit, everythings on a hill though!

Activities: Taylor's Lounge and the whale/dolphin watching!

Good for: Beach

" Alan, Janice and Suzie Hay "

We were in the Reveron 1st week in December 08 and although the weather was 'so-so' we had an absolutely marvellous holiday. The room was exceptionally clean with towels changed most days. All the staff were very helpful and all with good English and good manners. Sabine in reception was exceptionally nice and we hope her sore throat has improved. We will certainly be back wothout hesitation.

" Extremely pleased with these... "

Extremely pleased with these apartments they were spotlessly clean, cleaned every day, never saw one bug. Staff very friendly and helpful, and in a nice location. Only one thing the pool was lovely but no bar or snack bar, nowhere to get a drink at all at poolside and no music, so no atmosphere up there at all. A bit disappointing but would definately not stop us going back. Just around the corner is a bar called Taylors it was great, lovely staff the owners were very friendly they actually went around and spoke to every person individually which was very nice, the food there is very good. Whatever you do though don't go to the indian, we wen't 3 days before the end of the hol and my husband got food poisoning we was extremely ill for the rest of the holiday and still is 3 days later. Other than that we really did enjoy ourselves met some lovely people and the place has vastly improved from the last time we went. We will definately go back soon.

" Stayed at the reveron apartments for... "

Stayed at the reveron apartments for 4 nights, a studio appartment that was just enough for two. Very reasonable price and was spotlessly clean, only a short walk to the beach and a few nice cafes nearby. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, an excellent gym. Highly recommended.

" I used this site to check out the... "

I used this site to check out the hotels before travelling and would recommend it to anyone.

The hotel was clean, friendly and great location for the beach and eateries, without too much noise from clubs. I was worried about creepy crawlies which this hotel had none.

The pool was situated on the roof which was great because you could see the harbour from the swimming pool.

There were enough local shops for the bare necessities too. The view was fantastic from the roof and the roof we had, which was one bedroom kitchen lounge and bathroom. The lounge and bedroom opened up onto the balcony which had table and chairs.

We visited Playa de las Americas and was glad we didn't stay there as it's nice to visit but very built up. We tried jet skiing which I recommend, quad biking not so good in the hot weather, go-karting which had 3 different levels for experience on a huge track.

We didn't purchase any excursion before travelling which I would suggest as it's cheaper when your there, some give you free travel i.e. pick up and return.

Watch out for the timeshare/ holiday club reps but if you can go and hold out from signing anything you get free cheap booze and fags.

There's a Sunday market at the bottom of the hill, I recommend barter for a bargain....the hills, and walking provides good exercise. I spoke to a woman on the return flight that stayed in the Hollywood and said that the hill was a killer, so the hotel may have everything but that might be because you can't walk the hill too often.

The restaurant downstairs has regular entertainment and great food...but the music can go on till late but hay your on holiday no need to get up early.

We stayed for 2 weeks and really enjoyed ourselves. It also has a sister hotel in town Reveron Plaza which also looks nice.

" It was me and my boyfriend's first... "

It was me and my boyfriend's first holiday together and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Having never been to Tenerife, we were unsure of what to expect but we were extremely happy with our stay.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. We accidently left our washing up one morning and the maid actually did it for us. The pool was immaculately clean and the views were magnificent.

Also with the pool being on the roof it meant that there was a constant breeze which was refreshing in the blistering heat we experienced.

We had a studio room and it was more than adequate. There was no balcony but this didn't bother us, as we didn't spend much time in the room itself. You do have to pay for the TV, but again we were not bothered, as we prefer to spend our time outdoors. The only problem I had with the room was that there wasn't a fan or air conditioning and it did get a little stuffy at lunch time.

The apartments are about 10 minutes from Los Cristianos beach and harbour but we preferred the slightly longer walk to Las Vistas beach which was much nicer. The slight slope down to the beach isn't too bad but I can imagine it being difficult for those with mobility problems, although we did see many people on electric wheelchair things which you can hire if you wish.

We didn't eat in the hotel's restaurant however we did see people eating their daily so it can't be as bad as some may think. We chose to eat at Taylor's bar (English run bar serving snacks, breakfasts, and evening meals) the prices were reasonable and the staff very friendly.

Whilst staying at The Reveron, The Oyster Catcher (restaurant just across the road) is a must; the food is magnificent and the staff are lovely. They flambé food in front of you and the smells are amazing. The prawns are particularly good.

The only thing that let our holiday down was our tour operator. We booked with Panorama / My Travel and we booked return taxis to and from the hotel to the airport.

Unfortunately when we were ready to leave our taxi didn't turn up. After waiting an hour we got our own taxi. Thankfully My Travel did refund us the taxi fair but the original £20 we'd paid for the My Travel Taxi has not been seen. Other than that they were ok; the flights were good and our rep was nice.

I highly recommend the Reveron. I hope you enjoy your stay should you choose to visit.

" We stayed here for 1 week and found... "

We stayed here for 1 week and found the apartments to be spotless clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The apartments are up quite a steep hill so they are not for the faint hearted. My children thought there was nothing for them to do in them.

The brochure said there were squash courts, pool table, gym , jacuzzi etc. none existed. There was however a sauna which you could use for 18 euros for 1/2 an hour. There was television but you could only get 2 channels and had to pay for the rest.

There is a small shop in the reception but the prices were outrageous, 2.50 euros for a small loaf. There is a restaurant that is just outside the apartments that is especially noisy (ear plugs did it for me).

The pool is on the roof which was great because you had views all around. I would not bring the children here again because of the lack of things for them to do. The walk to the front and back up was like climbing Snowden (hard work)

" The Reveron Apartments are located... "

The Reveron Apartments are located about 7-10 minutes walk from the beachfront at Los Cristianos, halfway up a fairly steep hill that leads to the many hundreds of new properties built since our last visit to the resort in 1996, when we stayed at the Princessa Dacil Hotel.

The apartment complex, on three floors and covering a corner site, is fairly new and built to a very high standard, with marble floors throughout and modern fittings, including fire alarms and a sprinkler system (first time I have ever seen sprinklers on holiday). For a very competitive price we enjoyed a spacious double bedroom with ample storage space, a kitchen / lounge with all mod cons + TV (12 Euros for the week to watch, including Sky News / Sports) and a balcony overlooking the resort. There was a gym / sauna / Jacuzzi in the basement and a small pool / sunbathing area on the roof with marvelous views over the town and harbour which, although fenced, is probably not suitable for younger children.

We had booked Bed & Breakfast, however the restaurant was closed for maintenance and we were instead offered a breakfast at the 4 star Reveron Plaza Hotel (same company, Mr Reveron is a former mayor of Los Cristianos) in the town centre. We were offered a taxi to get there but we chose the pleasant 10 minute walk each morning and enjoyed the lovely views over the harbour from the 4th floor, together with a choice of fresh fruit and breads, continental, omlettes, or full English breakfast. The food and the service were both top class!

Back at the apartments the staff were very friendly and totally helpful, as was Richard, the Thomsons Rep.

Only problem with the apartments was the fact that on our second night a new bar, D'Arcos, was opened underneath the complex, resulting in noise disturbance until the early hours, despite the fact that local laws demand silence after midnight! We did complain twice, first receiving a bottle of wine in compensation and then a free room extension on our last day, having been kept awake until 2am! Unfortunately we were directly above the bar and if we go back we will request a room at the other side. but what a shame, it was the only blot on an otherwise perfect holiday experience!

Los Cristianos itself is a purpose-built but nevertheless very pleasant resort, more suited to families and couples, with a plethora of bars and restaurants to suit almost any taste.
The resort is also very popular with the disabled and almost everywhere, including the beach, is accessible, with motorized "orange badge" wheelchair hire available. It was good to see large numbers of disabled holidaymakers making their way along the seafront independently every day.

The centre of the old town actually has a church square, but unfortunately this was under redevelopment and fenced off during our visit. There was also a fair bit of digging going on around the harbour area, which I understand from the local newspapers is undergoing redevelopment.

The seafront promenade has itself already been improved over the years and it is now possible to walk all the way to Las Americas and back(approx 45-60 minutes each way)without getting your feet dirty. For those who don't fancy the walk back there is a reliable bus service during the day and reasonably priced taxis for the night clubbers. For those fit enough to walk both ways there are countless bars and eateries along the way.

There is also some good entertainment in the local pubs in Cristianos, with tribute acts such as The Blues Brothers, Billy Connelly and Rod Stewart doing the rounds in O'Flahertys and Chicagos. Oh, by the way, don't miss Billy Idol, never laughed so much in years!

We also enjoyed a variety of food, from home-made English steak pie at Porkys Bar (at the top of the resort, near the main supermarket), to Charleys Bar (actually Spanish staff believe it or not) to the Lunares restaurant in town, near the harbour, where we had top class Spanish food and service.

Finally, if you are looking for a relaxing, friendly drink ,a bite to eat and a little entertainment in the evening, drop into The Oyster Catcher, opposite the Reveron Apartments (not the one below it) where Martin (from Loughborough) and his staff will simply spoil you rotten and make you feel right at home.

Incidentally, the weather was fantastic, 25C and sunny all day every day!

DavyD.
