great apartments definately go back again
we had a great time at alisios staff were friendly, apartments were clean what else do you need, pool and surroundings were cleaned on a daily basis, couple of cats on the grounds but kept the cockroaches at bay dident see any so that was good, all in all are stay was great are first time abroad and we wernt dissapointed at all, the hill to the apartments wasent bad at all bigger hills in wales, the mini market on sight was a bit expensive, there is a netto just down the road on the left which is cheaper, lovely market on the beach on a sunday good day out, and if you want great english food try don johns just off the left by netto. would reccomend alisios to anyone whos looking for a quiet relaxing holliday.
Nice hotel spoilt by certain guests
We have just got back from our 2-week stay at Los Alisios. We are an engaged couple and we booked Los Alisios as it was billed as a family/couple friendly complex. The staff are very friendly, helpful and Manilow is especially cheerful and will do anything for you. The complex itself is very nice for a 3-star. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the baloconies are large especially on higher floors. The cleanliness of the rooms is not the best, however. The hill on which this complex is situate is often described as "cardiac hill". Let us set the record straight. The walk up the hill to the complex would be fine in average UK weather (eg cool and not humid and no powerful sunshine). However, the last 100-200 metres involve climbing a steep incline and in the 28-30 degree C heat we had it was very difficult to stay cool and comfortable on that last part. The on-site minimart is, as expected, expensive and budget conscious people should venture down the hill (400-500 mtrs) to Netto or to the Hiper-Trebol over the road from Netto. The pool is small and is often crowded. Although it and the surrounding area are cleaned regularly and the landscaping is lovely. Our major complaint was that a group of young lads were allowed to play loud music throughout the early evening and then return at 4 or 5am banging doors, shouting and playing loud music from the balcony. Despite complaints this was allowed to continue and the security staff were seen simply watching from a distance without actually intervening in any way. It all came to a head when a family began shouting, across the pool area, the most obscenely foul language at people they knew as well as complete strangers. This went on consistently for 3-4 days before our 14 days ended. We came to this complex for a relaxing holiday and were disturbed every night and suffered broken sleep because of the noise of the other guests and, in particular, the noise of people going up and down the metal staircases. These spiral staircases reverberate when used so that sometimes it can sound similar to a low flying aeroplane. We feel the above sets out our experience, and whilst the complex is a lovely place to be, certain guests seem to be allowed to run amock and disturb the tranquility. Watch out for taxi's as we got stung a few times by taxi drivers dropping us off nowhere near our destination but insiting that we were there. If you need a taxi, book one with reception as they will arrive in a maximum of 2 mins but keep your wits about you. In the surrounding area we recommend:- 1. "Sama Sama" a bar on the 3rd or 4th level above Playa Las Vistas (Los Cristianos) for a relaxing drink and pizza. 2. Bahriyeli boat trip (5 hours) booked with Luis (very friendly)through Mar de Ons on The harbour sea-front. 3. The speciality fish restaurant near Subway sandwich bar (We forget its name) 4. Chateaubriand at Bahia Beach Restaurant in Puerto Colon, Torviscus (5-6 euros in a taxi). 5. If you want a late drink, try the Jungle fun bar in Puerto Colon, Torviscus on the second level. the compere is a shock jock but the live music can be great and the atmosphere is fun and lively (if you can forgive the zebra print) 6. If Brit-Bars are your thing then there are some down the road just before Netto.
Totally decent apartments
Just back from a week at the Los Alisios and I thought it was a totally decent little place, decent location and amenities throughout. The rooms were basic and very clean and the staff were efficient and friendly (on our 3rd day the shower broke and within 1 hour we had a totallyt new shower fitted.) My only complaint was the minimarket which is a total and utter rip off price wise. Walk 200 yds to the supermarket and save a packet!
waste of money
stayed at these apartments for two weeks first room given was on the pool area ok we asked for alow floor did not know if there was any lifts i asked reception to change rooms as we had to climb 38 stairs to get to the road outside we were transfered to another room on the 3rd floor which we could get a lift. the room was large but way out of date the furniture was falling to bits the floor tiles were cracked the mini market and the bar was joke
Loved it
I came to Tenerife about two years ago in July. I thought the hotel was amazing. I had a great time. The staff were great. The entetainer was great he was so funny and friendly. Also when me and my friend came back early hours making noise outside we were escorted back upto are rooms and told to be quite. This is a family orientated hotel. I had no complaints. In Play de las Americas there were cockroaches everywhere and we were so luck I didnt see one in our hotel. Los Christinos is alot cleaner.
Superb Little hideaway
This was an excellent little apartment, we were moved to this one as the travel agent booked us into a club 18-30 hotel and that was not what we wanted. When we arrived, the staff were very pleasant and the rooms were very clean. There was little noise at night and the cleaners were always on time to clean your rooms. Excellent for families and couples too. I would def go to this one again!!!
Just what we needed!
We had our 2 week hol here, and after reading the reviews on the net, was actually dreading pulling up at the hotel, first impression wasnt great, but we were dropped on the carpark near the bins, and had to walk round to reception. We had a 3 bedroom appartment above the Minimarket, it was massive, With 2 balconies and upstairs bathroom with toilet on the lower level, Admittedly the furniture is a bit dated but then, whats the point in going on holiday to sit in the room and look at the furniture in the room when you have got a pool and a blue sky to look at? I travelled with my 4 year old daughter, my mother and my partner and we all enjoyed ourselves, We didnt eat at the hotel, we went to the Don John which is just down the hill and right at the island, its about 200m down on the left, we found this a lovely place to eat and not too costly, we also ate at Olivers which is on the hill too, this again is a lovely meal. If you find the Netto supermarket (which is the closes, dont shop here, stand with your back to it and look to the mountains, on the left thre is a Hyper trebol which is alot cheaper and better value for money!
Hated it!
Went in 1998 - stayed at the Los Alicios - which we booked from Teletext. Had a marvellous time there. Went back last summer, thought we'd try it again... HATED IT! Previously I believe the hotel was privately owned, this second time Airtours had taken it over. We stay in Los Cristianos because it's not so rowdy as Las Americas, however it would appear that Las Americas has now over-spilled into Los Cristianos. A real shame. I felt like I was holidaying on a stag and hen weekend in Blackpool. I also had a pair of binoculars stolen from the apartment... some kids reached through the slatted window shutters (left ajar because of the heat) with a stick I guess and almost took my bag too. I will never visit Tenerife again, and certainly not Los Alicios.
Great Budget Holiday
We booked a cheap holiday, only paying £325 for 4 of us for eight nights at Los Alisios. Having read reviews on other web sites we were concerned that we had made a bad choice of apartmnent. This actually was not the case. When we arrived the front desk staff were very polite and helpful. The apartment even though basic was very spacious and clean. The balcony was large and overlooked the pool and small well kept gardens. We had maid service 6 out of the eight days, with clean toewls every day. We had concerns over the position of the hotel, with some reviews refering to the hill that approaches the hotel as 'cadiac hill'. Unless you are wheelchair bound or vey old, the hill is not a problem at all. This hotel is ideal if you are looking for a budget week in the sun. We strongly recommend 'Olivers' restaurant that is just down the road, it is an English run restaurant with superb food. Also, along the front at Los Cristianos we recommend 'Chill Out', it is a little bit more expensive but superb food and atmosphere.
loved the hotel,food,drink,entertainment reps etc
i came back from my holiday 2day,i stop in los alisos and i am suprised how nice it was, our apartment was in block c,the rooms are very spacey so everythings not cramped together, the food and drink from the pool bar was really nice and it wasnt expensive, they have lots of facilities eg big swimming pool with a section for the children, tennis court, football court, volleyball court, little golf course,a sanded play area for the young children to play in and two computers in reception.the entertainment was excellent day and night, shiane was the entertainment rep, even though he had only been at our hotel he did very good,he got everybody to join in playing waterpolo or volleyball etc,he was a nice lad and great to get along with. all the other staff who worked beehind the bar or in reception were all really nice friendly and made you feel welcolmed,i would definately go back and stop in this hotel again
