Since the death of the owner it appears that the daughter is now running this operation (into the ground).
Noisy guests throughout the day and night accompany major refurbishment that has been in progress through January and February 2010. It would be better if establishments closed when making such major works. The reception staff give an initial impression of caring but fail to support this with any action so noise continues through the night.
I would recommend this to anyone that is deaf and looking for a cheap doss house, to anyone unfortunate enough to have found themselves there I would suggest using the Municipal Tourist Offices 'Reclamation" form - readily available from the reception.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in los brezos in 2004 for 7 days and loved it so much went back in august 2005 for 2 weeks.
We was on the top floor both times which was great as we had a roof balcony which looked onto the sea and two other balconies one over looking the pool and the other the hotel next to us but this did not bother us.
The complex was quiet at night and enjoyed sitting by the pool side at night with a beer. The staff were very friendly, the only disappointment was that the hotel bar closed at around 10pm! We loved sitting at the beach bar with a cocktail looking out to the sea and found the restaurants fantastic. We will definitely be going back soon and hope that we have a good time as we have both times we have visited Tenerife.

It was me and my girlfriend's first holiday together, so i was hoping for a holiday that both of us would enjoy and be without any or very little hitches. What we got, was a mixed bag. The room was clean and spacious, with the towels changed everyday! However, they have no aircon and therefore can get very hot in the room.
The staff were very friendly! They also do not put up with any noise at all! The walls are not that thick, you can here next door's conversation no problem! The hotel is only about 500m from beach and 100 metres from nearest spar. Watch out whilst in and around Adeje for coloured females asking if you want your hair braided. Amusing at first but by the 2nd week can get really annoying, especially when they hunt in packs of 5 to 10.
a great bar to go to is the Ajax bar along the beach. 4.75 euros a jug of sangria and you can sit and watch the sun set that is rivaled by the sunset of cafe del mar in Ibiza. Would definitely go back to Adeje, but would be in a different hotel and not self catering!

The Los Brezos seems to have changed a bit from previous descriptions.
Here are some observations from my stay with my partner and 2 kids in an apartment on the 2nd Floor.
We saw 1 Cockroach in our apartment in the old kitchenette but then decided to leave the TV on and the cooker hood light and plug in lantern to keep them away and didn't see another.
The place appears to have been taken over by the next door Castalia hotels, resulting in the reception being shut down, arriving at night we had a trail up and down steps following the staff member who gave no assistance.
The main bedrooms on that side of the complex overlook the dual carriageway and the lack of double glazing or other form of noise reduction means its like sleeping in a tent next to the M62.
Security and noise / roach prevention meant we didn't want to open the windows but this resulted in uncomfortable air quality / temperature.
There is no air conditioning fitted and no mention of fans being available was made.
The internal bathroom relies on passive stack ventilation and the smell was not good, possibly from the drains.
The floors of the apartment were filthy and other guests reported similar.
The TV system was breaking down daily and had a meter on the side of the TV which I didn’t use, other folk were complaining about the TV and it seems Sky news is supposed to be provided.
The joinery work on the patio doors was in poor state of repair, you had to give them a good shove to get them open resulting in quite bad noise for your neighbours etc.
Lighting around the complex was erratic in operation with dangerous stairs not being lit, the reception at Los Brezos was not lit adequately and has glass doors which you then have to avoid walking into.
Whilst in a taxi we were informed that 5 kids had been taken to hospital the previous week due to excessive Chlorine in the pool, this is believable as we found the pool disgustingly dirty with black bits all over the walls and floor, we observed cleaning being carried out at 2 in the morning.
We then could at least see the bottom but suspect the chlorine was still too high as some guests hair turned green.
The electrics in numerous areas were typically well below UK standards with pvc connectors behind the fridge, exposed connections in the gym shower room etc.
Service from staff was not exceptional although a Peruvian called Snr. Jimmy was the best. Whilst another member of the bar staff is a right jobs worth and was almost working to rule, she even told us that my 7 year old had to wear shoes in reception whilst not saying anything to the numerous Spanish kids in the pool after dark, there seemed to be one rule for the Spanish and another for the Brits.
If you go to Adeje be prepared for the shopkeepers trying to sell you digital cameras and do your homework before you go you may get a slight saving but also may get ripped off with extras etc.
Also make sure you visit the Colonial Pub near the beach in the Fanabe shopping area, you'll definitely go again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel last year, and it was a really nice friendly place. No lifts so you have to carry your suitcases up the stairs but there aren't that many but that depends on where your room is. we arrived late at about 1 and had no hassle finding our room or checking in.
The pool is not huge but it is good for cooling down in, the room we stayed in had everything we needed, although we had to hire a fan, and you can buy one cheaper. The room was large and we only had two cockroaches which was good, one in the oven when we got there, and a lizard. The people working at the bar at the hotel were friendly and the bar served nice food.
The beach is about a 10 minute walk, lovely beach, with loads of restaurants cheap food, and bars, a lovely cocktail bar with green parasols a must, this is a lovely bar on a night on the sand, really busy though. We read other reviews and most of them suggested the restaurant Bahamas II I think it is called we went there it was nothing special, La Romana is lovely although slightly expensive.
Overall a good holiday and would go back again.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. Our room was massive and clean. We were on the ground floor we had a pool view from our bedroom window which was lovely, and huge terrace area.
The only problem was that we had a few cockroaches but the staff were great and said they would move us, but we were going home the next day so they came and sprayed our apartment, which was very good but cockroaches are very common in the canaries.
The pool was great and pool area very clean. Staff very friendly food at the snack bar was great lovely paella. Las Americas isn’t far only 5 mins in a cab which is cheap. Linekers is a must, I was in there every night without fail. Would definitely stay here again fantastic holiday!

When we arrived at Los Brezos in august it was the morning so we were really hot, we went into our accommodation, it had a suitable bathroom, a bedroom with two beds, a kitchen with all appliances, a balcony and a living area.
It was pretty basic but good enough, request a high floor if you go there because they have bigger balconies and NO cockroaches! We were on the 1st floor so we unfortunately had quite a few cockroaches, we even found one on the work surface in the kitchen. There are no lifts so you had to drag your suitcases up stairs but there was only three floors.
You did not have to pay for sun lounges which was good but you could pay 1 euro for a comfy mattress for the day! There was a pool bar and reception area, the hotel was all pretty simple but good enough and I enjoyed myself and it was really hot there to. Costa Adeje was the best place in Tenerife as we visited other places such as playa de Las Americas and there was dead rats in the street. This certainly is the place to go though because it is the newest part of Tenerife and the cleanest! The beach is lovely and there are loads of nice cocktail bars on the beach, and a lot of lovely bars, restaurants and shops along the beach front.
It is a lovely part of Tenerife and I would certainly go back there again and the hotel may not be the best but I liked it! Happy holidays! :D!xXxxxxx

Resort - clean, modern, geared to the British holidaymaker (well stocked SPAR under the tent thing selling Spanish wine for just over 1 Euro). Apartments - very spacious and clean. Pool, pool bar, communal hot tub and gym - staff friendly. Fridge was a godsend, take a kettle (not provided), although an assortment of items can be hired from reception, including a fan - rooms have no air conditioning. We were allocated a fantastic room complete with balcony AND rooftop terrace overlooking the pool (plenty of sunbeds). It’s just a short walk to the many bars/restaurants and its' so cheap to wine/dine. Try Bahamas II, the food is tasty and PLENTY so be careful what you order! And if you like Chinese food Tenerife is for you. The beaches at Los Cristianos are golden and if you walk back take a break at the Royal Beach for fresh sardines. Lots of trips on offer so shop around. I’m going back next year.

I visited Los Brezos in July 2004 with my parents. It was the best holiday of my life. The place is so clean and tidy....(never need to worry about large bugs crawling about the place. )-which was nice.
The apartments were so spacious and the roof terrace was amazing. The views were lovely. The food at the bar is gorgeous and the pool area is so clean. I am actually going back to Los Brezos in 8 days so lets just hope it is as nice this year as it was last. I am positive it will be, if not nicer.

Los Brezos is a lovely complex. It is clean and well maintained. The apartments are spacious and bright. We had 2 balconies and a roof terrace, which was great. The pool area is spotlessly clean and there are plenty of loungers. It is mainly Brits who use this complex, which is nice. There is a great supermarket about 5 minutes walk away which is cheap (do not use the Spar shops they are extortionate) The only drawback was that there is no food after 4pm, but there are so many restaurants close by that this did not matter. (Try the Loch Ness down at the front, the food is good and the staff are lovely) We are planning to go back next year we loved it so much.

Sorry but this resort doesnt work as an all inclusive resort, although the staff we delt with were very friendly and helpful the facilities fail big time.
Possitives
Nice idea of having lunch in the snack bar from the menu,
Maids worked hard to keep the dated apartments and public areas clean.
Availability & use of the Isla Bonitas at night for entertainment and a different class of drinks.
Close to good beaches and selection of affordable resturants.
Friendly & helpful staff.
Negatives
Very poor quality of food at Breakfast and evening dinner, with limited options.
Apartments old and dated with poor quality furnishing.
Limited quality of available drinks.
Use of plastic cups for evening drinks from the Bar, understandable in the daytime due to the location of the bar to the pool.
Bar running out of spirits, ice cream etc.
Very noisey on roadside apartments due to early hour collection of rubbish bins etc.
No on site daytime entertainment/activities,again you have to use the Isla Bonitas hotel for activities but if you want a drink in the daytime whilst there you have to pay extra.
In conclusion it could be verygood if someone thought about what was available and organished the complex and spent some money on the place as the location is quiet good.
